Is Batman the only character whose more nerfed in his solo series rather then team-ups?
While in most solo series, a hero's ability and power is pushed ludicrously, Batman faces the opposite issue. When he's with the Justice League, he's basically a superhuman comparable to Captain America, Also he has access to infinite Batarangs, gadgets, and is a godtier hacker capable of understanding basically any technology. However, when he's with a lower-level team like The Outsiders, and the stakes are still somewhat dire, his strength resembles that of an action movie protagonist. and In Gotham and his own series, his abilities are more akin to those of a pulp protagonist. He can take down 2-3 goons if he catches them off guard, but he struggles against a big guy or someone with a weapon
Maybe Gotham villains are just built different
DC has toyed with that concept many times. Joker, Catwoman, and Riddler seem to constantly frick up actual superpowered villains pretty often in crossovers.
He's easily a global level threat.
I've always liked it when Joker isn't an PHYSICAL THREAT at all and the only reason he gets away with his shit is pure cleverness but I like the idea anyone can take out Joker with a single punch. I kinda hate it when writers make him like super strong and good fighter.
Joker should always get his ass kicked by anyone if he got no tricks to get out of it.
>Batman in that page
Bro, shut up! ur WEIRD!
Yeah Joker being a match for Batman in terms of strength or combat skill is completely moronic. I could see him overpowering a regular person sure, but he shouldn't be able to lay a finger on an expert martial artist like Batman without some kind of trick up his sleeve.
He beat Batman in his first appearance though.
>second panel
Batman confirmed light speed level
>Joker then gets the first hit on Batman
Joker confirmed light speed +
Write that down Death Battle crew!
Quick dirty fight, Joker has him on the edge.
Joker also beats him at skilled combat like swordsmanship
This is after Joker'd just come out an operation for a stab wound and they made a big deal how woozy he was from the anaesthetic
Always hated this mini for fully giving in to unbridled Jokerwank without even making the slightest attempt to justify it. In this scene we're supposed to believe an entire army of supervillains is scared of Joker because he killed one guy with a rock, despite the fact that the majority of them could kill Joker without even trying. And the only reason Joker is given free blowjobs like this all the time is because Batman has been powerwanked so hard that they have no choice but to do the same to Joker or else it would become overly clear that his status as an archvillain is incredibly stupid. Batman is such an unimaginably overhyped, poorly written character that he actively makes his supporting cast worse just by being associated with him.
>In this scene we're supposed to believe an entire army of supervillains is scared of Joker because he killed one guy with a rock, despite the fact that the majority of them could kill Joker without even trying
I have more issue with the fact that there are hardened killers there acting like complete b***hes than the fact that Willy the World Killer can smash Joker into paste with his pinky. If they're not afraid of dealing with an existential threat like Superman, why the frick would they balk at the idea of killing Joker?
Truth is that 99% of Batman rouges barring Bane, Ra's and a few tech guys don't belong in the wider DC Universe.
Wait Clayface is in panel the frick is Joker gonna do to Clayface? Dude should have told Joker to get fricked unless he got paid.
>Is Batman the only character whose more nerfed in his solo series rather then team-ups?
Nah. Batman villains are just too powerful.
Wouldn't punching Diana just result in a shattered fist?
It would, unless he had an anti amazonium in his utility belt
Batman is strong. Almost superhumanly so.
So misogynistic of him.
Pretty sure you already made this thread a few days ago.
Also what the frick is that page on the left. The dialogue doesn't sound like it's actually Batman.
DC can't have their golden goose getting shown up by actual gods and demigods when he's on the same page. The DCEU ironically played it straight, Batman was having trouble with a single parademon, the same creatures his teammates could easily take out by the dozens.
Batman is easily the most egregious, because of the Bat-God bullshit., but it happens to a lot of the more down-to-earth characters.
Batman, Nightwing, etc.
Iron Man
Black Panther
Captain America
Spider-Man’s a horrific example
When he’s in an X-Men book gotta show off everyone’s favourite self-insert mary sue beating up the whole team
When he’s in an Avengers book gotta show him giving Tony a vindictive “author’s surrogate” lecture while easily dismantling his suit, dancing circles around Thor and knocking out Hulk in one hit
But in his own book gets beat up by a normal guy on 4 metal legs and a normal man in a bird suit.
I myself always took it as the X-Men and Avengers trying their best not to hurt Peter because they’re not evil, but try explaining that to his fanboys. “Le Omg Peter is stronger than Iron Man, Thor and Hulk combined because look at this panel of him beating them up while they’re talking to him and not even trying to fight back”
Joker cracking him upside the head with that 2x4 is just fricking hilarious. He looks like he shit his pants
My theory is that Bruce has never ever been in the same room with Superman or Flash in his life and never cares to. Crossover and JLA Batman is actually Bat-Mite LARPing as his favorite hero, who occasionally breaks from character and beats up Darkseid and evil speedsters too often.
He's not really nerfed in his own books as much as he is extremely buffed in team books.
And he has some kind of moron aura projection power that causes anyone near him with superpowers to constantly forget they have superpowers. It also causes guys like Flash and J'onn to forget they are detectives too, Hal to forget he is a space cop with loads of knowledge of alien civilizations or his ring is a massive database of alien info, anyone with combat training forgets all of it and swings like an angry toddler, just everyone turned into a drooling moron that depends on Batman to think of everything and notices things on the ground or in a room.
>its a team up
>but really its another boring Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman comic
It's superhero comics, they're always inconsistent because of multiple writers don't overthink it, it's same deal with Spider-Man in team ups vs solos, team ups/teams just always make characters look better I notice I guess because they want to be fair to everyone.
Everyone written lot more friendly and less buttholeish in team books too I notice unless it's Avengers or X-Men everyone in butthole in those books.
I could be wrong, but, in the latest years, Spider-man (Peter's Spider-man, at least) is always an stupid complaining about be out of his game and Batman is constantly humbled.
Bat wank is not limited to Batman himself.
Even in his own book, bat-family wank and catwank are stronger.
>recovers from having his spine severed
>I-its not that much wank!
That makes sense, think about it. In a team-up everyone needs to do a part, so everyone needs to be leveled to about the same powerlevel so they're not useless or overshadowing the rest, as a result Batman is buffed so he isn't just some guy in spandex ankwardly hanging out with people who can fly and shrug off heavy weaponery and say Martian Manhunter is nerfed so he doesn't just read the villain's mind and solve whatever the week's hangup in 30 seconds.
Of course you can try to be creative but you generally hit a wall when you pit a regular dude in a team with demi-gods and most writers are lazy.
Didn't they already try to explain the Batplot armor with Barbatos? It makes sense to me
who cares
comics were always stupid
I emphasis "always"
this thread reads like a bunch of zoomers who never grew up on the moronation that is comics or don't know the history of them before they were born
All characters have antifeats and make no sense
touch grass and worry about stuff that actually matters
Autism: the post
Bat gags in disarray seeing joker beat the shit out their hero
