visually, he absolutely has. his whole visual style has changed to use that photobash technique which debuted in sock 5 and has been gradually improving. he has begun incorporating live action footage too in his satirical 'the news hasn't happened yet' series. he also directed a live-action music video with david lynch in it.
thematically, his work has become less overtly violent and more unsettling in different ways. Cream is a great example of that, as is Sock 6 which is all sexually uncomfortable and disorientating. I thought Plastic Hand was kind of shit, but it's also different from his previous weird comedy shorts by virtue of its restraint.
if you're asking why he's content to just keep making youtube videos rather than feature films and such, it's because he can. his youtube work supports him and he's able to make a living doing exactly what he wants, when he wants. I wouldn't frick with that either. he's currently developing a couple of games, and he has the luxury of being able to do so without any deadlines or need to market them. he says they might not even come out at all, unless he's satisfied with them.
He was fine in The King’s Speech but I don’t really get the appeal. Those kingsmen movies looked awful and I never saw them.
