If done right it can be great fun >everything Ennis punisher
Dude understood the assignment. >marvel knights >dark humor >silly shit >violent >MAX punisher >hyper violent >so edgy it can be funny sometimes
Compare to Spawn, I read over 200 issues of that fricking book. Never went anywhere, was all just about looking neat.
FPBP
Marvel Knights and MAX punisher get away with edge because it’s got point and is well written.
Ok gimme some good edge then?
[...]
But this scene was dope and cathartic. It’s kino edge.
Just following up champ, where is the edge that will give me balls?
Or is this yet another case of a sperg saying some shit with nothing to back it up?
This. I like when characters play with how close they're willing to go over the edge. It's one reason Moon Knight is my favorite superhero. He has to constantly fight against his worst tendencies, knowing how easy it is for him to step over the line.
That's debatable because so many of them are great. If I would have to narrow it, it would be the original ongoing by Doug Moench, the post-Civil War run, Warren Ellis' 5 issues and the current ongoing by Jed MacKay.
No, but its hard to maintain forever.
Roll a dice and your forever edgy character might by the target of the current moral panic. Bright, positive characters who can become edgy when pushed without it being their main persona work better imo, not that Frank deserved what's been done to him or anything.
I agree that troons are fricked up, but they have nothing to do with edge. >t. edgelord in a fandom ruined by troons
That's a problem less with troons and more ruined by sensitive social justice; though it is inductive at least address the overarching narrative.
Cinemaphile is more just full of pussies.
The kind of stuff people here find edgy is just baffling some times, it's like the kind of stuff an 8 year old would think is edgy.
homies here will call you an edgelord for enjoying a show or comic with some mild blood in it.

I wouldn't be surprised if a significant amount of Cinemaphile is made up of people who were homeschooled as kids.
Their idea of "edgy" is so hilariously out of whack with reality and common sense that it's almost insane.
That picture of Spongebob and Patrick on the kiddie coaster is an extremely accurate representation of a good 60% of this board.
And the worst part is that the mainstream is a complete reflection of that thinking. See any youtube or twitter comment thread for evidence. The public discourse of today is "lol ur so edgy".
I don't think I'd say OP image is especially edgy. Oh sure they're talking tough but even in that image it's still all about protecting people rather than hurting them.
Depends on what you mean by edgy, people have taken to use it derogatorily. So it's up to debate, are you a person who simply sees killing as "edgy" or are you the kind of person who defines "edgy" as over the top gratuitous violence paired by pretentious nihilism.
So define edgy
It's bad when it's all edge and no point.
If done right it can be great fun

Yes
No. What? Frank is beating the shit out of a human trafficker.
>No. What? Frank is beating the shit out of a human trafficker.
it's simping in the gayest way possible
>simp
Next thing you are gonna say is Ennis is woke. Stop parroting whatever right winger YouTuber said about Max and read it yourself sperg.
If beating the shit out of a human trafficking scum frick is simping I'll be a simp.

Check out Slaine by Pat Mills. For starters. There is also Chuck Dixon, Howard Mackie
Pffft enjoy your homoerotic Celtic fantasy shit.
>homoerotic Celtic fantasy shit.
So regular Celtic fantasy shit?
This. If its all edge and no point, its grimderp.
pic VERY related

As a punisher fan this got me interested. What is the best moon knight run?
That's debatable because so many of them are great. If I would have to narrow it, it would be the original ongoing by Doug Moench, the post-Civil War run, Warren Ellis' 5 issues and the current ongoing by Jed MacKay.
That's a sharp observation.

it never was, Cinemaphile is full of trannies
you need to stop thinking about trannies so much
Trannies and their way of thinking is a threat to this nation and the world. We cannot make a problem go away by ignoring it
Everything is a threat to the world to you guys and there is a clear reason for that.
I agree that troons are fricked up, but they have nothing to do with edge.

I know you are, but what am I?
It ends up being comedic and immature if not done properly.
I fricking love edge you fricking frick.

Wolverine had sex with that little girl many years later when she turned legal age
What is this? That team looks sick
This comic reads better with this song in background

"Edgy" is such a broad concept that it cannot be classified as inherently good or bad.
Edgy is great if it's paired with something fun like a spunky teenage girl.
No. Most of the people who choose to write edgy things are bad writers though, so in practical terms, yes.
>close to the edge
DOWN BY A RIVER
Not at all.
Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Garth Ennis, Pat Mills, and several mangaka have made solid entertainment out of gruesome violence.
Any other darkest edgy westerners comics writers that are well unknown?
Weird to think there was a time where Ghost Rider was popular enough to get multiple books, even if that only lasted for a year or so.
