Is Eva just a shittier version of Zeta Gundam?

>depressing mood
Zeta does this better
>autistic whiny protagonist with mommy issues
Kamille does this better than Shinji
So what's left? Coombait waifus and religious imagery that has no symbolic meaning?

The difference is the MC of Eva has no character development whereas in Zeta Kamille mans up by the end and pays the price of being a war hero.

    >with mommy issues
but Shinji has daddy issues and even then he dabs on that when he shifts the powerdynamic between him while Zeruel tears shit up with the rest of the shows run time focusing on everyone around him dying or getting replaced by a doppelganger. That's something similar about Zeta and Eva where both end with the characters stooping into depression as everything around them burns in the last few episodes despite them growing tremendously and actively one of the most morally upright of the presented characters. Both Shinji and Kamille become anything but whiny as the story concludes
he literally rejects returning to a pre-birth goop state with his mother being omnipresent twice and actively ghosts Misato when he realises how fricked up she is and the hole he's filling in her life and the hole she wants him to fill sometimes
also Kamille only presents his mummy issues in the novelisation's conclusion and when his mother initially dies and all the argama w*men comfort him; he concludes he really should give a shit because the family never reciprocate eachother's feelings

Not him, but I thought Zeta was gold up until the boys returned to space (the first time). After that it just became draining with too many repeated plot points and character traits/journeys, and it just dragged me down like Earth's gravity. Barely gave a damn when the ending finally rolled around (which wasn't that bad otherwise, although a big downgrade from ABQ).

Better than your favorite anime, Pedro. Zeta is great.
