It depends. If you stay active, fit and healthy, and aren’t unlucky enough to be struck with cancer or Alzheimer’s, then no, getting old is a luxury. Otherwise yes, spending your final years suffering or completely braindead is probably not preferable to death.
Being a healthy old person with a life with no responsibilities is certainly a luxury compared to the alternative. Lots of elderly folk still live surprisingly fulfilling life. Is it as good as being 25? Obviously not, but it’s preferable to being dead, like I said unless you’re stricken with an awful ailment.
>Lots of elderly folk still live surprisingly fulfilling life
They are literally in a permanent cope delusion. Its traumatizing to age and the brain literally copes with delusion because of the severe ptsd.
All old people are basically fricking PTSD traumatized from seeing their bodies decay over the years
wtf are you on about? what’s your source for that? most old people don’t give a frick, they just want to spend time with their grandkids and watch crap on tv. this weird disconnection from reality you discord cultists have makes you terrified of incredibly normal existence. you’re making the world ugly by being too afraid to just live in it
I’m sorry you think this way. Nta and I wouldn’t say it’s a luxury per se, but if you’re mentally well and take care of yourself you gain an insight youth dosent offer. I’m 45 and it’s amazing watching men my age struggling with things that not only do I not struggle with, but that these young men don’t even know they’re afflicted with. It helps to be in shape which I am.
You won’t be an exception. You aren’t special. You don’t have some hidden gem of insight that people twice your age lack. If you are already at my age and see things this way then you’re doing it wrong and you probably need to work on yourself. If you are this age and have physical maladies that make you bitter about aging then I’m truly sorry and I wish you well. I would still say you need to try and gain perspective.
and you are honestly delusional. I don’t mean that as an offense. I’m saying you are not in touch with reality. Work on what’s troubling you inside anon.

Lol your cordiality doesnt make up for the terribly inauthentic conversation you just tried to force me into. I bet you do that with everyone, act all wise and righteous while being totally immature and self deceptive on the inside.
* I’m 45 and it’s amazing watching men half my age struggling with things that not only do I not struggle with, but that these young men don’t even know they’re afflicted with.
i sort of get that quote. you have already died invisibly many times. the person you were as a child is pretty much dead, your memories are second hand reconstructions and approximations at a certain point. death is constantly pacing after you and claiming you as soon as you proceed into the next second
it's only a curse if you allowed yourself to get out of shape and didn't focus on having a family to enjoy in your twilight years
meaning to 90% of this board, yes it's a curse
yes yes, you have no girlfriend and will never reproduce and that’s your epic sigma decision and not a lifestyle forced onto you by being autistic and unattractive
Getting old is a part of death. Your health and mental faculties die first, it just takes a while for your consciousness to catch up and seal the deal.
>why
Frick if I know. Personally, that question is immaterial to me. Mainly because I’ve never found an answer. It’s the how that I’m concerned with, as in how to use what we do have to accomplish what we are inspired to while we’re here.

This is cope. There is nothing "luxurious" about getting uglier and your body slowly falling apart.
You are and always will be ugly and fat so you might as well kys
No matter how ugly and or fat you are, getting old will make it worse.

>all old people have PTSD because they’re old
yeah it’s totally valid to ask for a source on such a moronic claim
I’m

Yet you did. Youre just careless with your words.

I literally never said it was. Learn to read the entire post before responding.
Now youre coping with delusion. This is your M.O.
Take care of yourself anon.

>This is our big mistake: to think we look forward toward death. Most of death is already gone. Whatever time has passed is owned by death
Intellectualism cope. You cant just mindfrick away the bitter truth in the mirror.

Yes you can, that’s called accepting reality
accepting an inacceptable reality is what it means to cope
Accepting reality is a horrendous thing, delusions are to cope with that.
Few people truly accept reality.

the only people "traumatized" are the chicks that were used to having pretty privilege and can't cope with losing it when they hit 35
Not at all, imagine being unable to ever have fun again like go skiing or hiking etc because of your crypt keeper body
I suppose its like this:
We lose everything we gain. So is gaining a scam? Why were we born into a scam?

Feels like a cuckold move to try to enjoy an assfrick of a raw deal. Prison break or nothing.
