Two strengths should mean double the weaknesses, as long as it's balanced people don't care
FPBP weaknesses are more interesting than strengths
This is also true
Mary sue has to do with intent. You can have two characters that are exactly the same. One is a mary sue because they were the expression of certain feelings. The other was made that way for different reasons so it is not a mary sue.
So why bother talking about it?
Main reason is cause I was wondering about giving weaknesses to someone whould could control fire and water or steam manipulation. So far I've done weakness to cold, air counter, certain attack combinations not working, having only half the effectiveness of properties.
most of the MHA cast are gary stus
No
The popular ones are yeah
That's not how it works, anon. That's not how it works at all.
Not Cinemaphile
Frick off
Wrong board
Piss off
>heroes are heroic
to think this infuriates the average Cinemaphile poster really shows how nobody on Cinemaphile really consume the media anymore.
If everyone is a Mary Sue, then no one is.
It’s technically one; temperature control. He can expel or absorb heat
No it's not it's heat and ice powers
The main idea is he can use his heat and cool his self down with his ice powers.
The dad technically married the mom for her quirk before quark stacking was illegal. Still took him 4 kids to get it right. 28sjw
Kinda makes you wonder how Iceman's powers work. If he can freeze things that means he takes away the heat. Where does the heat go?
The heat dimension.
It's adjacent to the meat dimension Wolvering gets his healing powers from. Only separated by the well-done dimension.
no?
moron
>Has to relearn the same lesson multiple times
>Lost relevance in his own subplot to his dad and his new bird twink male wife
>all of that screentime, yet still stays irrelevant because he has no strong character reactions or relationships because he's a stunted autist
>couldn't defeat his villain he was assigned to do and needed his family's help to finish him off
He's not a gary stu because his character fell off hard.
>Still better off than Iida
Iida got done even dirtier when it comes to irrelevance, but at least he didn't job to a pipe.
Iida didn't even have a fight in the final battle
He was literally a taxi who couldn't even get all the way there
At least he proved Stain wrong, and and showed off his growth. Shoto just does the same ice/flame whatever attack again, but this time it worked, was even lamer.
Is the manga wrapping up soon?
Hori kept saying "It will end this year, truly!" since 2021, but he seriously underestimated how much story he had to tell. Not to mention he got sick and his workflow plummeted, giving us many unexpected breaks and really short chapters, so it's taking longer than expected. But it will probably finish for real this time this year, or at least won't be much longer until then.
Bakugo and Todoroki have both jobbed several times when it comes to them actually fighting the real threats in the series. Bakugo's only W's are during school settings, and Todoroki only has one against Stain, with team effort.
They've taken out most of the League of Villains in the final war at this point.
All that's left is Deku vs Shigaraki, which has finally gotten to the logical point where Shiggy is starting to steal Deku's extra quirks
Kind of. The big ultimate final arc has been slumping along at 0 tension for ages. Hori's always been terrible at pacing, but he has somehow gotten even worse.
I bought a manga at a comic shop. He becomes relevant later when he fughts Dabi.
>Get upstagedby your dad, who support to be PRIMARY antagonist
Always funny to me
Originally Endeavor was going to be revealed as not being his real father
Based on what? That sounds really fricking dumb.
It was a dropped plot point.
One clue is that Endeavor bloodtype is AB, but Shoto is O.
I realized that Japan's obsession with giving each character their bloodtype to try to match their personalities could inadvertently imply that some characters are bastards/adopted
>All that art of Cboy endeavor getting fricked by hawks
so many shameful faps
Nope
>Is having the ability to control two opposing powers a sign of a Mary Sue/Gary Stu?
I can control my mouth and my butthole, does that make me a Gary Stu?
> Mary Sue/Gary Stu
You clearly don't know what either of those words mean.
What's with all the Cinemaphile threads not getting deleted?
It's hilarious that you assume Cinemaphile have active mods. They only awake from their long slumber if someone start insult black people/characters.
"I can excuse off-topic board threads, but I draw the line at racism."
Also obvious trolling like that moron who always post that Homer Simpson creampies his own butthole.
What opposing powers even are there aside from fire+ice and, eye-rollingly, light+dark?
Life + death, earth + wind, wood + metal, science and magic, and there was an esoteric one I forgot.
Bad Luck vs Good Luck
Healing Touch vs Death Touch
Density Increase (Diamond Hard) vs Density Decrease (Phasing)
Fear vs Desire
Attract vs Repulse
>Healing Touch vs Death Touch
That's a good one, can't believe nobody has that powerset yet
It's a simplified version of Elixir's powers, one of the million X-Kids. Gold skin when he heals, black skin when he kills.
All of the powers listed are powersets Cinemaphile characters already have.
Well except the last one, that's Gojo from JJK
MHA’s cast is literally just useless women, and Gary Stus
>Bakugou
Hot headed guy that’s just too skilled to be hated
>todoroki
Aloof distant guy that’s also extremely skilled
>deku
Literal moral center of the story that was recognized by the ultimate Gary Stu, all might
It sucks so hard. The only thing it has going for is the nice art.
Vigilantes has a way better story and it's only a monthly manga with less chapters to its name. Hori lost the plot of the story a long time ago.
I don't know why people prop Vigilantes up. There is a reason nobody talks about it compared to the main series.
>There is a reason nobody talks about it compared to the main series.
Less hot broads.
>everyone who's skilled or powerful is a Gary Stu!
Absolute smoothbrain take.
I don't know, is it?
Isn't the whole point about being the avatar that you can solve all the problems in their world? I guess aside from the obvious weakness about the avatar state, it's being able to shoulder the burden of their job and whether they are doing it effectively.
Aang and Korra are both prodigies right drom the get-go even if both get carried by their team hard and need asspulls to achieve their goals.
It's OK when Japan does it.
Wrong board
Not really, just chuuni
Less Gary Srue Zuko
Dabi is just Gender Bender Azula
No he's clearly Unredeemed Zuko
>Elder son
>Disregarded because his weakness
>Became mopey and resentful towards everyone but his father until he "died"
He's totally Zuko
Dabi is such a cool design
Especially that burning zombie demon version towards the end.
This
Traits don't make a mary sue, the writing does. You could take the most boring motherfricker on the planet and he'd still be a mary sue if the author willed it so.
I want him to plow Momo just to piss off tumblr
>Todomomo
Ship it
MHA is Cinemaphile?
If you consider capeshit in general to be in the domain of Cinemaphile, then yes same with other superhero anime like one punch man. Otherwise obviously not since it's an anime/manga.
It makes you pretty cool
God, shonengays eat literal shit. How much more detivative, copy-of-a-copy-of-a-copy bullshit can you digest? How low are for fricking standards? You keep reading the same exact garbage over and over and over again.
