Recover to what state? He never had much of a fanbase in the first place. Every attempt at a Moribus series died after a few issues, I don't think a single one even reached 10. The movie made him more popular than ever, for better or for worse.

Morbius' 90s book lasted a surprisingly long time, after Ghost Rider himself it was the 2nd longest-lasting of the Midnight Sons line.
Morbius is actually a character with a lot of potential
'90s book lasted 32 issues. Also people who grew up on the '90s cartoon love him. The people who meme about the movie are probably barely aware of the comic so I don't take it personally. The character will live on. Maybe not get another movie any time soon but who cares?
He's become one with the memes now. It's always Morbin' Time.
Moon Knight is also a memelord, but despite this the memes just made more people interested in him if anything.
I think they should make him Blade's sidekick. I think Blade's abrasive personality and Morbius' whiny angst would create nice chemistry, and it'd finally divorce him from being the *other* vampire antihero in Marvel.

Pretty much just literally Spawn.
He looked like Spawn, but he wasn't a supernatural character like Spawn, he was a science hero who got the costume from his dying future self.
Nightwatch is evil now and was retconned into having always been evil.
Not even Nightwatch deserves that retcon to stick.
Do people remember when he Morbed all over the bad guys in the comics? No? Then no.
I finally watched his movie when I was on a flight, wasn't the worst thing ever.

I mean, he's not in any worse of a position than he was before the film. Just another subpar work that didn't need to exist on top of a pile of subpar works that that didn't need to exist.
