I really like the art style in Volumes 1 and 2 when Brian was still sort of 'figuring it out.' It's alot less overtly chibi-ish and feels more grounded.
1 & 2 still have that Lost at Sea charm to it, which felt a little more fleshed out than LAS but a lot more grounded than 4-6.
I still have 4 as my favorite, but 1 and 2 will hold a place in my heart for the style.

He comes across more as a moron burnout than a bad guy, he seems like he just floats through his life with no real interest or idea of anything that happens around him, or any interest in the lived of his friends. He’s not, the books just show his point of view when he has interesting shit going on. Which is a dumb way to put it, but it’s important to remember that he was the last one to find out Wallace was gay because his friends didn’t think it was important to tell him.
