Gotta love how Batman justifies keeping the Joker alive after shit like this.

Yep, Batman’s a full-blown moron. Man’s got to realize that some people like Joker are too far gone and they have to die.

Everyone keeps blaming batman for this, like he writes the laws or something. You're not seeing the true picture here: Batman is a warning for us, warning against the future the liberals want, where the death penalty doesn't exist, and criminals are not prosecuted for their crimes. He is showing us that only the rich can lead us to salvation, we just need to give them more money and less oversight.

No he's really not. He should primarily use joker toxin to just drive people insane with the possibility of rehabilitation. Save him murdering people for big stories and show more restraint with his appearances. If he needs to be kept around he should only show up like every two or three years. Also no more of that escaping from Arkham shtick.

This, he shouldn't be actively trying to kill people, he should have a complete disregard for human life. Think of it this way, if the Joker has to run over an old lady crossing the street during his getaway that's just the game but he's not gonna swerve just to hit her unless it's funny

Yes, but only in the short term. In the short term, used sparingly, you can run plenty of stories where the Joker escapes at the nick of time or breaks out of prison a few times, where Batman has to agonize over whether he should be the one to personally end the psychopath's crime spree terminally, before reinforcing his commitment to strengthening judicial legitimacy and ensuring the Joker is put on trial to face the death penalty. However, these stories should always have an end where the Joker actually fricking dies eventually. Long-term, it's just not sustainable without giving the Joker a frick-ton of plot armour and making literally every single person in the world look like a sub-room temperature moron for not just killing him.

Anything in the 21st century is "these days." It's been a holding pattern of recursive shit the entire time.

The state does the same shit, Batman just brings him in, it’s not his fault that they keep falling for the insanity plea.

it's recreating a scene from an old comic. I don't recall whether or not the dialogue is the same though.

DC writers have turned Batman into a goofball when it comes to shit like this. Golden Age Batman would have put a bullet in his skull.

Your perception of golden age Batman lasted a year at most. By the time he fought the Joker in Batman #1 he was already cracking wise with a giant grin on his face.

He'd have made a joke about shooting him then.

I was reading some comic yesterday where Batman left Robin to die to save the Joker and I was wondering. Why do writers like writing Batman as some kind of psycho? Is it actually intentional or are they really unaware of how bad they make him look?

Because the popular interpretation of Batman is he's just as insane as his villains.

Snyders run was bad in a poorly written plots/ Joker wank sort of way everything else has been bad in a Batman is a fricking moron plus dogshit plots kind of way. King, Tynion, and Zdarsky all hate Batman and rub in your face every chance they get.
