Well every movie is starting to look the same. That is why I switched to Psych Thriller.
Hollywood is. Too many morons and troons pushing social and political ideology.
Literally and unironically Thanks Obama.
That butthole legalized the use of propaganda against US citizens in 2013. Before they had to be subtle, crafty about it. Now it's all in your face wokeness and you're a literal evil nazi commie if you speak against it. Just look at how quickly the quality of television, film and video games quickly fell after 2013. It's a hard line in the timeline and easily traceable
government propaganda is shit like Call of Duty, to get people to join the military. you can actually trace the money there. The government is paying for whatever game stars a minority. thats just an attempt at expanding demographics to sell to
Right after the 2012 Occupy Wall Street movement’s trajectory was mysteriously derailed by changing from classless and egalitarian to bickering and victimhood Olympics, wow, what are the chances?
Not any more than any other genre of film. If anything, horror is one of the few that's still "alive".
define dead
When I was in America, I had a person look at me like I was a monster when I told them I walked to work daily.
Then a week later, some woman at a bar told me she tried hiking but had a panic attack when in the middle of a forest because she it was too quiet.
This never happened.
I dunno, man. The panic attack woman sounds like your average over-socialised city slicker.
no it doesn't. people in cites leave to go hiking all the time. terminally online people get their ideas of city people from deranged twitter posts. The only people i see getting panic attacks about their surroundings are when some country concert is in my city and all these rural people show up, terrified of everything and asking me which blocks near the hotel are safe, and safe routes to get to restaurants, while constantly looking over their shoulder like they're in a warzone
>no fun allowed homosexual lives in a city
makes sense
when did i imply no fun is allowed? wtf are you talking about?
Nice pretend story.
i bartend next to a major venue in a huge city. when rural people come, they are scared walking from their hotel a few blocks away and ask me what areas are safe despite them never venturing beyond these places. they constantly talk about how dangerous they 'know' it is here
Well, they 'know" what kind of beings lurk in the cities.
glad we've arrived to the point where you are admitting you're scared.
Who isn't scared of black people?
yeah I live in a city and once this rural hick piece of shit came up and wanted to know where he could find a taxi so I shot him and stabbed him and set fire to him then all the geetz in the hude did the same and shot him and then the cops came and laughed at him and said he was a hill billy and then they shot him and then the mayor came by and said what's the fuss and then pissed on the hick homosexual and then shot him and then shit on him then a commercial jetliner saw what was happening and crashed on him and then shot him and meanwhile this freaking moron hill dweller hobbit from the shire lmfao was saying "y r u shooting me" and kept asking for a taxi like he was on an alien planet.
fricking country nerds should stay out of the real world
You have to be 18 to post here.
take another tranquiliser you spineless city mutant
and then an American expressed shock at my manual breathing.
i hike in a state park and every week or so I will pass a new young hiker having a panic attack in the fetal position. they seriously cannot stand the quiet
One time I went to America and I asked where the broccoli was at the Walmart. Everyone was confused and asked what a broccoli was. When I described it as a green vegetable that's low in calories, the Americans started crying and dry heaving. A 600 lb couple and their 390 lb kids on mobility scooters rode up and said I was a terrorist commie and should get out of their country. Such a weird place.
Where do Europeans go for hiking? You guys don’t really have hills.
hiking is basically the national sport in germany and austria
>walking around is a sport
i think i understand why you guys get so excited about soccer now
they've got enough africans to start american football teams
NFL is waiting with bated breath
No offense, but America's protected wilderness areas are more than double the size of your entire country. It's hard for me to take seriously the idea that Germans "hike".
where do you think hiking came from you fricking fruit loop
I can go wherever i want. I can camp wherever i want. except in a persons backyard but i can camp on their land. they cant call the cops. im allowed one night,.
but you can not hunt or take wood. some people don't understand that
Where?
-gypsy squatter in Spain
>there are no hills in Europe
>You guys don’t really have hills.
Are you dumb?
every map of europe is flat, you expect me to believe YOU?
Where is a guy from England going to go hiking in a similar manner to hiking up one of the canyons around Hollywood?
Balconies in Mallorca, you wouldn't understand.
Any of the hilly/mountainous areas of Britain?
And it’s a short, easy trip to get there?
Depends on where you start, obviously. Any city in England is within 2 or 3 hours' drive of somewhere like that, often much less. That specific location is in the middle of triangle between 3 of the country's major cities, about an hour from the nearest and 2 hours from the farthest.
Phenomenally American post.
Refer to
When I was in Europe, everyone looked at me like I was a monster. Then I realized I was white and they weren't.
likelier than one might think, however, Italians will still think you're German
I met a few Americans here in Barcelona a few weeks back, they wanted to Uber for a literal 10 minutes walk through a nice walkable area.
What's going on in the USA?
USA is big
the meme is just actually right mkay?!
Oh yeah one guy made that comment unironically on the Twitter thread, kek.
I mean, isn't it true? Bigger continent (no, Russia & Turkey aren't Euro lmaooo) that was quasi non-inhabited (once the natives have been genocided, and even importing african slaves for centuries didn't really populated areas sufficiently), bigger distances between settlements/cities, bigger cities with taller buildings, bigger urban sprawling, bigger cars, taller people, bigger fatties, bigger food, bigger money, bigger weather, bigger entertainment etc.
this doesn't mean this is better (*au contraire*........), it's just actually bigger mkay?!
Distances between cities != distances within cities, American cities aren't walkable because they're designed for cars, they don't provide proper infrastructures to make them walkable.
sure, but the euro pop density of cities and towns is much higher than USA (which is basically half-empty, even excluding Alaska), so the distances between euro cities are indeed shorter
Yes because white people dont live in cities, they live in the suburbs and towns and drive into the city for work and to go downtown for a night out. The downtown areas are walkable, the rest of the city where all the shitskins live is not and you wouldn’t want to be caught dead walking there.
Europeans are taller than Americans
Walking near places with that much traffic is dangerous due to all the fumes. The only safe place there is in another car with the recirculate turned on.
EVs solve this.
Oh yeah just let me tell everyone on the road to pause, take a time out and go to their local EV dealer and spend 40k or so.
red coats stay mad to this day that they lost the war lol. like walk back to europe if walking is so great lmao.
I own a car. I could save her.
I too start crying when I am around other people or more than a mile from the nearest highway ramp
the fact you think this post is representative of everyone in a city just shows you're a moron. i don't know anyone who doesn't leave the city periodically for hikes or camping except just the impoverished who don't have access to anything else
>He thinks hikes and camping are mainsteam hobbies
You are in a bubble
Idiot.
And then everybody clapped (as Americans are wont to do)
poorly retelling an old memepost
That's what happens when a souless golem is exposed to mother earth
Yeah, city folk are subhuman.
So where am I supposed to live? In the woods? There is no stores or internet out there
I go camping for the weekend completely alone a few times a year and all my female coworkers started gossiping about it like I'm some deranged freak because I made the mistake of giving an honest response when one of them asked what I was doing on Saturday. People are weird.
no they didn't.
>triggers 90% of the thread instantly
Based as frick
If you were in a suburban or rural area, then most people would look at you funny too (assuming they meant you lived here).
If most Americans had to walk to work, it would be a walk through highways and broken sidewalks, 3 to 4 hours one-way.
>had a panic attack when in the middle of a forest because she it was too quiet
kek that is
I can kind of believe some people would freak out given a peaceful, quiet setting. There were several cases of people going crazy during COVID lockdowns because they had to stay in their quiet house.
One time I was in America and I had to tip the police 20% of what was in my wallet when they got it back from being stolen
They must have known you weren't from around there, otherwise they would have charged you a freedom tax too.
>When I was in America, I had a person look at me like I was a monster when I told them I walked to work daily
No, that's pretty normal if you live close to your workplace
Living with strong communal bonds with plenty of third spaces is a nightmare to the alienated suburban american incelibate
wtf i love haiti now
Dead for sure, I stuck a wire coat hanger into its neck and ran upstairs as fast as I could. No way anything could get back up fro
cabin in the wood
>far from civilization
>no phone
>no electricity
>no contact to the outside world in case anything happens
Honk Kong
>smack dab in the middle of civilization
>anything you could possibly want at reach
You wouldn't make a good movie director if you don't know why a cabin in the woods is better HORROR MOVIE setting than cyberpunk society prototype Hong Kong.
>>far from civilization
Damn, it will take the Uber Eats guy forever to bring me my half-eaten food
>>no phone
True. Satellites are only accessible from the city.
>>no electricity
So much this. Electricity doesn't exist outside of LA and NYC.
>>no contact to the outside world in case anything happens
This, this, and more this. Need to stay connected to the hustle and bustle or I might miss out on random SoundCloud rapper show
We're talking about horror movies, you little mongoloid
So horror movies should just be an urbanite bugman israelite's paranoid delusions?
I’ve always had poor cell reception when I went into the mountains. I’d imagine it would be just as bad in an emergency situation. Also, SoundCloud isn’t even popular anymore. Go to bed, old man.
>No electricity
OPs pic clearly shows that the cabin has electricity.....
That's not even the point of the pic though. The point is that in reality you are infinitely more at risk of a horrific death in a human hive than at some chill cabin in the woods.
No, you absolute moron. All genres go through trends. Some don't like certain trends, and that's fine, it doesn't mean the genre is dead.
>Is horror a dead genre?
No, it's an undead genre.
that lower image must smell like absolute shit
Horror is the least dead genre now. There's lot indie and foreign stuff without Hollywood producers dumbing it down. While almost all other genres have hamfisted politics now, most of horror is free from them (excluding shitty mainstream hulu or blumhouse stuff).
>blumhouse stuff
Got around to watching Night Swim. The teenage daughter's boyfriend was not only black, but also head of the swim team. Only on screen for maybe 5 minutes total at best, but still moronic and unnecessary.
They've been making movies where bad things happen on the farm, in nature or around rural living people for 40 years. Its literally a psyop.
Because the people making movies are a bunch of city-dwelling israelites and kids so the prospect of the outdoors already scares the shit out of them.
They leave their respective metropolitan areas like once a year, most of them don't even have cars anymore.
To be honest, it's only in recent history that rural areas/the wilderness have truly become safer than urban areas. Even with the attendant crime, for the majority of human history you'd be safer in a settlement than the wilderness alone.
Name a more terrifying setting. Can't be done.
I’ve had a huge crush on weird looking brunette in the black top to the right of center for years. What do I do you ask?
> first off I finish the 15-second long belch that was causing everyone to make that face at me in the first place. With the stale aroma of half-digested pizza and beer in the air, I grin and bow with a flourish, grinning and saying “thank you, yes thank you very much.”
> I come up out of my bow with all my weight on my right to deliver a hook to the jaw point of the ugly b***h on the left just to establish dominance. I then flick off the Black person.
> right about now some of the people are going to do something else, leaving me with olvive skinned hottie here who has clearly been getting wet in the context of my show of dominance. I confirm this hypothesis by placing my hand on her shoulder and immediately placing the other one gently up her skirt and to rest on her mound. The panties have that moist warmth to where they’re not soaked through, but they’re headed that way. Checkmate.
> anyway the point is I would then do sex stuff to her (probably in the bedroom but maybe on the living room floor) and pump at least two huge dripping loads into her delicious shaved c**t (as a dark haired girl some stubble would be visible)
I wonder how much antibiotics resistant STDs are in that picture?
*How -many- antibiotic
You're welcome, ESL anon
is this how you make yourself feel better about not talking to women?
international space station
Bottom pic is probably in Asia, making it safer than any black neighborhood anywhere.
Horror ceases to be scary when you enter the real world and find that it is far more frightening than some guy in a monster suit. Most adults that watch it do it out of habit or because they like ugliness aesthetically.
Real life is a millionth time scarier because there are no "safe perimeters" like in movies. You can die or suffer in a trillion ways, all of a sudden, with no warning and in any situation.
I don't remember the movie, but there's a scene with Brad Pitt getting chocked to death by a wire in broad daylight and dying just like that. He was set up or something. It wasn't even horror and it's scarier than most horror films.
Bros… DAE think the city is absolutely bone chilling? There are so, so many buldings
Bottom is already inherently horrific though. You'd just be piling horror on top of horror, rendering it largely meaningless. With urban horror you have to work that much harder to humanize people to make them matter to the viewer unless it's just "ha ha stupid teenage, get fricked" vicariousness like most of your slasher movies.
> dead genre
It’s the only genre not royally fricked by DEI and the only one that requires its writers to think outside of accepted formula.
I live in a horror movie
Diversity is our strength.
So I know this is Toronto because of the TTC subway symbol, and it's probably Eaton Centre because of Sephora...but when is this? I thought that mall is practically a dead mall since covid?
London?
Toronto
It's Union station on New Years Eve. The Go Train was free so all of Brampton came downtown.
Even normies are starting to complain. Very privately in hushed tones while looking around.
TTC is usually free on New Year's Eve and I thought about riding around to look at stuff and people but I decided I don't want to be around drunks or crowds like that, like yikes, what if there was a fire or a stampede? I didn't like the time I accidentally got caught in the Santa Claus parade crowd while at Eaton Centre, and that crowd then was white families.
Conceptualise the odour, holy shit.
Weird thing is that I’m Australian living regional after a treechange and our main cities look like that too. But all our horror movies are about people taken from this environment out to small towns where the ‘real’ horror lies. And I mean every single fricking horror movie seems to imply that you’re better off being crushed into consumer paste in the unfeeling concrete dystopia of the cities than living so where where housing is affordable, neighbours are friendly (if you’re not a dickhead) and almost everyone is white.
Leftists really go through places like this every day and be like, "OPEN THE BORDERS, WE NEED MORE PEOPLE!"
Human beings are social creatures that depend on each other to live. Both top and bottom is scary because both lack social groups that a small town or suburbs would have. Optimal Not Horror condition is when there are enough natural resources to go around per person (so not Bottom, the city), that other people won't be competition for those resources, but rather people we can team up with to get those resources without being killed by nature. In Jack London's "Making a Fire", the man remember (too late) the advice that when it gets this cold, a man shouldn't set out alone.
Humans are the most frightening beast you can meet, anon. If you meet a bear, you know it wants to eat you. If you meet a human, you don't know what its plan for you is.
That is true, but that doesn't change the fact that we benefit from being within a group of good humans to protect us from everything else, from bears to bad humans. A while ago I was listening to Sensible Prepper on youtube, and he and another prepper discuss why bugging out to a remote area was a bad idea, some group did that I think during the Argentina economic collapse, the men got killed while the women were raped... Especially when law and order goes out the window, you need a community that can defend you -- unless you stay in hiding, like Bill and Frank in The Last of Us, but they almost got killed by Raiders...the most ideal seem to be the Jackson community which have around 300 people, they stay off the radar too but are big enough to handle any raiding group.
It's "To Build A Fire." Had to read that in high school.
Thanks, I dunno why my brain is like that lately, I can picture a thing vividly but the name escapes me.
No prob. Mine does the same thing. More often than not it vaporlocks completely and I just blank on stuff..
A cabin in the woods works better for horror than a city because you are isolated from help you fricking morons.
Horror will never die. Them things PRINT money.
It never even begun, there's only a handful of good horror movies ever made
>aaaaa being le poor is le scary
homie 2 billion people in the world right now live in the slums. 2 fricking billions.
That's like putting the entire population of SEVEN countries with the population of USA side by side in a giant continental ghetto
At the density of OP pic that "continental" ghetto would be under 400 square miles
Smartphones being ubiquitous killed horror stories set in the present day. There's only so many times you can dance around it with flimsy excuses like no signal or a dead battery.
>call the cops
>they dont show up for 6 hours
Thats as real as it gets, cell phone proof
Frick the real world really is scarier than fiction
What if your smartphone was trying to kill you? That would be scary
All genres are dead or dying because instead of having auteurs making lots of movies with fresh ideas for the sake of the art, we have investors ordering products that are expected to deliver returns.
What’s weird is that horror is traditionally a low-budget entry genre but even that’s being homogenised by Eli Roth, A24, Blumhouse etc.
Bring back the culture of ten million-dollar films instead of one ten-million dollar film and watch cinema heal itself.
>horror setting in real life
that looks like a frame from Ghost in the Shell
