In addition to that, i also believe they use movies and tv to endlessly inflate the female ego, turning them into insufferable c**ts in order to prevent them to find a husband to breed with. If you look at the last 50 years it is evident that these things are happening. Or can you actually provide evidence or arguments against what the chudsters believe?

      >Is it going to be good or cringey?

George Miller is a good director; but I'm not sure how much he cares about this. A Furiosa movie was not his idea, it was Hollywood's. Miller wil put in a good effort because he cares about his reputation and his craft; but he's still doing this for a pay check not because he wanted to.

Personally I'm a fan of the whole Mad Max series, and I liked Fury Road but I really don't care about Furiosa. I didn't really care that much about her character in Fury Road and I have no real desire to see more of her.

Hasn’t a standalone furiosa project been apart of miller’s plan for the series for a several decades now?
There was that Furiosa anime planned in the 2000’s that never got made so I’m guessing that this movie is gonna be reworking a lot of the concepts planned for that series

        Anonymous

        >Hasn’t a standalone furiosa project been apart of miller’s plan for the series for a several decades now?

I didn't think he had any long term plans for the series. He didn't really want to make Thunderdome but he did it so he could make Babe. Eventually they came up with the script for Fury Road and he came back to the series; but at the time it was made I don't think he had any plans to make any more films. Fury Road turned out to be a huge hit though so they green lighted another Mad Max and the Furiosa film and Miller agreed to direct, no doubt for a huge paycheck.

It's going to have cool action but the plot will be lame feminist shit like the last one. Fury Road had some cool action but ultimately it is one of the most telling plots of any major action movie ever.

      >old lesbians survive alone in the desert
      >kidnap the women Immortan joe is using to try and breed healthy, non-irradiated humans
      >Turn on the water and give away the precious limited resource
Oh look women have zero foresight and will do whatever makes them feel good at the moment and have absolutely zero regard for what that does to the entire civilization. One year after Fury Road the entire colony would be dead and Furiosa would be either dead or enslaved by another Warlord.

Bad. Watch the trailer, it's HEAVY CGI slop. Fury Road was charming because of the emphasis on practical props, real working vehicles, and physical stunts. This seems like they took the worst part of the story and abandoned the whole reason Fury Road had any legs or popularity to begin with.

its probably a 'with you or without you, we're making the movie anyways' situation, so he'll just have to try salvage what he can, if he doesnt intentionally frick it up just to frick with the suits

        Anonymous

Yeah, the suits wanted this film. Furiosa is probably the most successful female action lead they've produced since Sarah Connor in T2 and we know how obsessed modern Hollywood is with pushing the girl boss action lead.

I do think they would have made Furiosa with another director if Miller had told them to frick off; but I'm willing to bet he's getting the biggest pay check of his career for making this. He also might be getting another film he wants made as a condition of making this. He did that in the past with Beyond Thunderdome. He wanted to make Babe and part of the condition for him agreeing to film Thunderdome was that he'd get to film Babe.

I'm a fan of Miller so I hope he's getting well paid for this and I hope he gets the chance to make what he really wants to. Still not sure I can will myself to care about Mad Max: the Girl Boss Adventures though.

Fury Road was a year of filming on location in Africa after decades of false starts and extensive pre-production. It was an infamously gruelling shoot due to the reliance on practical effects and stunts.
Furiosa was filmed on backlots in the UK and the trailer is full of obvious CGI and unrestrained CGI camera movement.
It might be good; Fury Road itself was expected to absolutely bomb after all the drama around it's production, but I can't say I'm much hyped.

The Mad Max trilogy was really rough but it was fun. I grew up with it and obviously have a soft spot. I couldn't stand the hideous cgi mess that was Fury Road where 100% of shot are composed 70% of cgi in spite of the insistence that there's none. This looks like they dudbt just double down on that but tripled down.

After 3000 Years of Longing there's no way I watch another Miller film anyway. For me that made it clear he wasn't making Max enjoyable in spite of the limitations, but he was likely doing worse than could ever be expected of him. He's a terrible director.

I have no interest in this movie. Maybe I would if Anya wasn't bogged. My interest would be very low though. I am a big fan of Fury Road. Many dislike it because Max "took the backseat".
I see it differently. He got dropped into a chaotic situation. I loved how much abuse he took and dished out. It's very boring when a hero has it too easy. He went from captive blood bag to indispensable.
The feminist tones in the movie were annoying at times, but the women weren't shown to overpower men often. They even had scenes where you think a girlboss moment is about to happen because of the dialogue, but then the woman gets punched or overpowered.
People point to the sniper scene, but I didn't mind that at all. I don't want Max to be some kind of super soldier that's the best at everything. He's a grizzled survivor. He's been captured before. He perseveres and overcomes.
By the end of the movie it's very clear that they would have never made it without Max. I'd even argue Nux became indispensable.
This movie doesn't have Max so that's a hard pass for me. Maybe the buccal fat removal will help Anya look like a starved post apocalyptic slave, but I still hate the look.

This gives me nightmare flashbacks of when Square Enix released a Final Fantasy 13 trailer which everyone was excited for, and then they rumoured that there was actually TWO FF13s and the trailer was not actually the "main" FF13, and then FF13 came out and had virtually nothing to do with the trailer, the creator just created his perfect 3d waifu fanfic. Mad Max wore out its welcome in the 80's. It's going to be a bad plot visual spectacle like the rest.

Well, it's directed by George Miller who co-wrote it with Nico Lathouris and their track record is immaculate, so I'm inclined to believe it will be good. Miller is one of those old school, Not-Hollywood types and doesn't kowtow to trends and studio execs. I'd wager on it being subversive to the franchise like Thunderdome was, however. I don't expect it to be at all like Fury Road.

Like every Mad Max movie, it's going to be shit. This one will be particularly bad though.

I don't know, I never enjoyed the previous Mad Max movies growing up, they looked too gritty and depressing for me.
I fricking love Fury Road, it's just a high octane rollercoaster ride of sound and vision.
It would have to be something very special to maintain the standard set by Fury Road.
