>Science fiction anime up its own ass about basic philosophy
Nobody who likes Ghost in the Shell understands what is good about science fiction. It's for exploring interesting what ifs like time travel in S;G and outer space like Interstellar, not about getting on a soapbox to talk about your deep ideas that aren't really deep at all.
Solid bait.
S;G is an entertaining story but is not science fiction (proper) at all. It's closer to fantasy in that the time travel tech is restricted only to the protagonists and may as well be supernatural/magic.
Proper science fiction is about creating a new setting/world and examining how technology influences humanity in that world. GitS is a good examination of transcendent humanism and is an entertaining watch, as is Innocence. Stand Alone Complex (the Laughing Man plotline anyway) is closer to a political thriller/drama than sci-fi but is also entertaining albeit less cerebral.
Interstellar is a bad joke with pretty visuals.
A post isn't bait just because you disagree with it. How the hell is S;G magic but GitS isn't?
Ghost in the Shell is random slopshod of magic technology the anime. There are people reading newpapers while getting their artificial brains replaced. It's shit. >a good examination of transcendent humanism
If you think this pretentious philosophy is deep you don't know what you're talking about.
I like it a lot when I used to hate it on the basis of it being "pretentious" because of somewhat long monologues and lots of philosophers being quoted.
But that's a bit beside the point, only not really I guess.
I ended up appreciating the aesthetics a lot more upon rewatch and Batou as a character is actually really interesting instead of being the cop buddy from the first movie. The thing is, his portrayal is mostly done visually rather than through him acting things dramatically or speaking his mind. Like the scene with his dog in the apartment.
It's pretty kino. Reminds me a lot of Deus ex. It's a sci fi work that gets really direct about it's ideas and really wordy with it's dialog, even compared to the first movie.
It's a bit pretentious but it looks absolutely amazing. The festival scene is one of the most beautiful sequences I have ever seen in an animated movie.
Yep
Prepare for dense monologues
howl's? who are them talking about?
GITS is kino

Get the frick out.
It's about cool aesthetics and robots, and shit getting weird.
Do you hate the Matrix for its basic takes as well?
>interesting what ifs like time travel in S;G and outer space like Interstellar
I know right interstellar is the opposite of good scifi, that homosexual has obviously not read any good scifi books, he has not idea.
b-but the power of love anon
Solid bait.

That happens now,
>GitS fan is a moronic conspiracy nut
So that explains it.
>paper news is conspiracy theory
Smells like reddit here.
bait, no one under 30 has seen or even knows what steinsgate is
Oshii's 2nd best
Stein gate is like low level scifi for dysgenic weebs. I'd rate even technolyze above stein shit
No. It's not as as bad as the TV shows though.
The only good thing in the entire GitS saga is that first movie.
SteinsGate is the worst kind of "scifi". It's not scifi at all - it's a "harem" shounen with a bunch of "cute girls doing cute things".
You are a crack smoking gaygit if you think the tv show is bad, let alone worse than this movie.
>reddit's;gate
>love conquers spacetime
>good science fiction
It is good you pretentious GitSgay.
Neither SG or Interstellar even rate as decent stories.
parade scene took a full year to animate, yes it is.
it's the best of the series. the psych ward episode of SAC is also kino.
Personal opinion, yeah, it is. I prefer it to the original even.
>From the creators of Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle
Wait, what? This wasn't made by Ghibli

I prefer the live action.
