It's a show for comedians. If you watch it expecting a stand up special and don't understand the point of it you'll be disappointed

insult comedy is the most feminine shit on the planet. instead of putting time and effort into something worthwhile or uplifting people are developing an interesting skill or craft, you've instead dedicated your life to being a catty woman and being "cutting" with your words, seeking out someones insecurities like some c**ty mean girls type. its the most feminine shit imaginable. if some homosexual israelite tried to wittily insult comic me id challenge him to a fist fight and just call him a pussy over and over when he inevitably refuses with some gay witty nonsense

there is literally NOTHING a man can say if you just call him a pussy+you can fight. NOTHING

Showmanship/optics have a place in any conflict. Being able to stick a verbal shank into someone's vitals proves right off that you understand them enough to identify a weakness. Winning the actual fight is the most important thing, but looking good while you're doing it is ultimately the goal. Any scenario where you'd call them a pussy before attacking is already about optics.

Not that this type of insult comedy has much real world value. It's almost like choreographed martial arts where they're all agreeing to spar in a certain way and try out impressive moves to please an audience.

I wouldn't say anything to you, I'd listen to what you had to say, and that's what no one else did.

Anons will deride you for the tough guy posturing but I essentially agree with you. Tony's gay voice is grating and the whole petty cruelty as humor thing always felt weird to me.

with the exception of Brian Regan, Mitch Hedberg and Norm Macdonald, comedians are the bottom of the barrel entertainers. They're lower than strippers, they're lower than donkey shows

I don't like professional stand up specials but I like this show. It is cringe kino but has been getting worse overall lately. Hans sucks, David Lucas sucks, Cam sucks, and William has run out of steam. The regular thing makes sense I guess but it is the worst part of the show. Quality also varies wildly based on the guest and the more famous they are the worse it typically is unless they have a meltdown like the recent ric flair ep

Tony is one of the worst rogan parasites of the lot. Unfunny, unconfident and unlikable. He's also a fricking grotesque.

My older brother called me a couple weeks ago and said he got me and my parents tickets to go see Kill Tony during the New Show at some coliseum in Austin Texas. I tried to sound happy on the phone but I honestly don’t like the show that much and haven’t even watched it in months since he introduced me to it. I’ve never even seen stand up comedy before lol. It’s a 12 hour drive but it’s a 26 hour drive for him and his wife. The tickets were sold out for the 31st so he had to get the 30th. What are the odds the 30th show will have nearly as much effort put into it as the New Year’s Eve one? Will Hans even be there? I don’t have high hopes but it might be funny. I think Tony is kinda a douche.

Norm said on the Maron interview that he didn't really like "roasts". That's why he did those old corny jokes from a joke book on the Saget roast.

I did improv classes for a while. Yes it's pathetic, everyone was a soi theater kid homosexual, but this was 10 years ago when improv seemed "fresh" and I was obsessed with Comedy Bang Bang and Superego. Anyways, somehow the open mic comedians in this same theater were even sadder people. Even the ones who could get booked at local bar shows were embarrassing. I went to a few shows when people I knew performed and nobody laughed.

And when the "real" comedians would come around (meaning they were on TV once and were open mic tier in LA/NYC) it was like a highschool dance. All the little aspiring comedians were either sucking dick or talking shit, without an ounce of self confidence either way. The only decent people I met in improv or standup were the ones who didn't have delusions of fame, they just wanted to pass the time or face their fears. Like they had 9 to 5 jobs and just wanted some different experiences in life.

It's alright. I feel like they could cut the interview portion down for the ones that bomb with absolutely nothing going for them in the first two questions. I'd like to see more comics per episode. And I'd also like to see them cut down on the amount of time regulars take up, or just put some of them to every other week.
