It goes completely off the rails in a way that not many shows do. Like shockingly so. First two seasons were pretty good but I might recommend stopping there.
This. I think deep down Bill Hader is a Criterion Channel meme filmmaker, and as the show went on he got more and more creative control until he finally went all Too Old to Die Young all over it.
Not to me, no. It was much more unique and interesting when it was a dark comedy instead of a drama with some action scenes but maybe you’ll like it better who knows.
I still thought it was a comedy but I think it could be because I'm fricked.
Like I was a laughing during the scene where he screams at her in front of her woke tv show staff.
or even better, just watch mr inbetween, which isn't ripping off grosse pointe blank (not to imply it doesn't rip off tons of other shit) and actually sticks to its premise.
It's good all the way through, but I understand people who dropped it after S1-S2. It takes a direction that, while it makes sense, isn't the premise most people thought it was going to have.
I like where it went, but I'm also sad it didn't keep going on the original path, because I would have liked that show, too.
I guess in a less dramatic direction? Like, obviously drama was always an important part of the series, and was well done (like the scene with Chris) but I would have liked a series that kind of stays the course a bit more, and focus on Barry's double life.
Like, it stays primarily Barry focused, and it's about him trying to act while also struggling with leaving the criminal life yet dealing with the repercussions of his actions.
terrible homosexual show, it's an actor's wet dream self insert, I want to puke at the very thought of a moronic californian writer with Hollywood brainrot writing any of this shit, it's fricking pathetic, just rethreading and blatantly copying every famous crime drama show but with an incompetent team of writers and actors, it's a huge circlejerk, go watch something else
i've never watched it but i have seen some clips posted here that were amusing. all in all i'd say give it a shot but remember cause of bill hader's writing on southpark, red headed kids in mexico were targeted and assaulted
It's a good show. I understand why some people preferred the first two seasons to the last two but I enjoyed it throughout. Ending was good, much better than Succession's finale.

Frick you the ending is kino
The ending was actually decent sure, but the route it took to get there was so convoluted and bizarre that it really wasn’t worth it.

>The last one I liked was The Sopranos.
nice pic succ troony
It's great, honestly.
No, the premise only works for the first season, the second isn't awful but it's falling apart the whole time and the last 2 seasons are horseshit.
Just rewatch the sopranos
i really liked it at the start but it gets darker and less funny over time
>but it gets darker and less funny over time
Sounds good?
sure, maybe
watch it yourself and make your own determination

Cinemaphile got reallt butthurt that it apparently got less funny but I still think the end half of Season 4 was funny.
>apparently
Hader himself said it was less funny than it began
You can't set up a wacky premise with wacky characters and then do a tone shift.
>Can't
I don't think you know what that word means. Because they can and did.
what starts off as a b-plot becomes the main plot and focus of the show.
just like every one said, only watch 2 first seasons
last show i watched and loved was mr inbetween. it aussie aswell which makes for a refreshing change. get some dimmies in and watch that
Mr. Inbetween was fantastic and ended it at the right time.
It really wasn't that good...it was decent enough but really man it wasn't that great, it had it's share of problems.
like what?
I fricking loved the first two seasons. Couldn't make it through the third. Depressing.
Just watch Gross Pointe Blank which it ripped off
or even better, just watch mr inbetween, which isn't ripping off grosse pointe blank (not to imply it doesn't rip off tons of other shit) and actually sticks to its premise.
It fricking sucks ass.
Vice Principals >>>> "Barry"
Lee Russel black glove hitman spinoff when
>Vice Principals
Absolutely based, also new Righteous Gemstones season when?
Regardless of what you think about the show, Bill Hader is a great director.
who attacked the house and sent Sally and the kid running back to LA?
The skinny hillbilly she humiliates early on.
They were calling her Sally though
She's hearing the biker guy she killed.
I was thinking the dude from the diner that wanted to frick her. I'm thinking she was blackout drunk and whooped his ass? I have no idea.
It's funny sometimes. Overall, no, not worth it.
Its decent show but last season (or more like timeskip part of it) is rushed, feels silly and is just there to end show
Last episode was good tho
its terrible. i don't say this often but it's pure reddit.
it gets better with each season. probably the most consistently good show of the last 10 years.
this scene was so FRICKING good
Agreed, but it barely factored into the rest of the show. Seemed like it would be the characters pivotal moment.

I feel like we pretty much have the same opinion on it. Where do you think "the other path" would have lead?

Mr Inbertween is much better
