Kek, actually kinda true for this series.
My advice OP stop after the season he gets the TV show about season 1 plot. It's the final ep in my head Canon.
Don't worry it's not a spoiler.
Yes. Back when I was a Cinemaphile nerd, I decided to completely just rip off and copy his style. Resulted in me getting laid and repeatedly and finally having confidence in myself with women. So yea, show really changed me for the better. Kind of became a chad after.
First two seasons are good, then it just repeats itself. But it's a great light comedy show. Nothing too deep. If you want something with a deeper plot and Duchovny putting more into his acting, I recommend Aquarius. You can't go wrong with Duchovny. You have to be a legend to be romantically linked with 99% of your costars even if you're married.
"I have an idea for a show. I play this guy, and beautiful women love me, and I'm just constantly fricking them. So much fricking. I've got family and friends and stuff, but it's mostly me fricking beautiful women."
It's male wish fulfillment at its finest
Imagine Two and Half Men without the laugh track, replaced by nudity and profanity
That's all you need to know
As a legend, he has earned the right to pursue whatever stupid hobby he has at the moment and call it a profession. Did anyone ever save that list some autist made of all the women Duchovny slept with? It was basically just a list of all his co-stars starting with Red Shoe Diaries.
Fantasy Self insert, so edgy, cool, dunk/druggie Bro that is irresistible to all women who always want to frick him (expect his creetching wofe and daughter), but always forgiven for everything without consequence.
But the supporting characters really are top notch. The Runkles, Evan Handler and always kino Pam Aldon steal scenes. Keith Callum Rennie and Jason Baghe basically carry fully seasons. Carla Gallo and Stephen Tobolowski do more with their one note bits than it deserves. Ran a few seasons more than it was worth, but theyre some hilarity.
Might marathon the first few seasons again with some shellfish and cocaine….
Runkle and Marcy were the main reason to watch at some points, throwing Stu in the mix really helped. Rick Springfield and that Collini chick really helped too. Too bad they were only in one season.
Anybody else's favorite character Rob Lowe?
He steals the scene every time he's on screen and I love the "I took a man in my mouth" reveal arc and him full on tackling Hank every time he sees him.
It’s alright but struck me as the kind of “opposite” celebrity typecast (like Cera in This is The End) but he didn’t have the balls to go it with his real name like Springfield
I guess I get your point but cera was cringe in that.
Lowe is based in the show, I saw him more like RDJr character in tropic thunder, total narcissistic method actor.
It's pretty good. Watched it as a teenager and then again as an adult making it through the entire series again. Something I couldn't say about plenty of other shows.
One of the biggest faults with the series is that it goes on for a bit longer than it probably should've, but by that point your still likely invested enough in the characters to see how it plays out. His daughter is also kinda ugly and gets progressively more annoying in later seasons.
I remember Duchovney and Anderson where doing a interview the horrific second X Files movie. She kept bugging Duchovny for not letting her be on the show. She wanted play some MILF or something and kept deflecting it. Saying her being on wouldn’t fit the show or some shit
i wouldn't even mind but having his ex-wife during most of the show is what killed for me, she's boring as frick, the end of the show i didn't buy it for a second, if it was like Two and Half men where the main character dies would´ve been better, a touch of Don Giovanni
I really liked it as a kid (except for the last few seasons, the narrative cohesion and Hank's character start meandering to the point of incoherence) but the glorification of degeneracy in it is a bit too much for me now and I can't stand the Runkle character and his wife. Overall yeah I'd recommend it, and Hank is an interesting "top-tier womanizer mainly based on game rather than looks" case study if you wanna learn something.
Eh. He's bagged most of his co-stars and still gets starlets and random groupies that follow his writing and music tours. I say he's doing all right and at peace with his sex addiction. And he seems like a good dad, so he made the most of his predicament.
It's fricking kino
He’s playing himself. I met DD at a book signing last year for some novella he wrote. Really chill guy. As for the show, later seasons drag and suck
>normal words, but a normal guy!

for me, it's Madeline Zima in Californication

Just the first season.
David Duchovny is a genius.
"I have an idea for a show. I play this guy, and beautiful women love me, and I'm just constantly fricking them. So much fricking. I've got family and friends and stuff, but it's mostly me fricking beautiful women."
"We'll give you 7 seasons!"
Lol I might have to check this out.
Tons and I mean tons of 10/10 TnA
>rips off bukowski
>genius
Bukowski ripped off Al Bundy
Should I read Bukowski or just emulate his mannerisms from his interviews?
his novels are worth it. but don't bother with the poetry. also checkout barfly (1987] and factotum (2005)
the part when that MILF makes his dorky friend jerk off to her and cum in like 30 seconds in the kitchen woke something in me
It's male wish fulfillment at its finest

DD like having a beyond mid life crisis. He now thinks he’s a musician and his music is horrific!
He's a fricking artist.
As a legend, he has earned the right to pursue whatever stupid hobby he has at the moment and call it a profession. Did anyone ever save that list some autist made of all the women Duchovny slept with? It was basically just a list of all his co-stars starting with Red Shoe Diaries.
Will Anderson admit they fricked. No way they didn’t
Can't be worse than Val Kilmer's was
It’s basically Sex and The City for dudes.

Rick did it better

Good till the last two seasons. The last season the writers really wanted to abandon ship. It had its moments but it was crap compared to the rest.
>suit blazer
>black t shirt
>blue jeans
>chelsea boots
jesus fricking christ who DRESSED this guy
I remember Duchovney and Anderson where doing a interview the horrific second X Files movie. She kept bugging Duchovny for not letting her be on the show. She wanted play some MILF or something and kept deflecting it. Saying her being on wouldn’t fit the show or some shit
It's because she's clingy and was sleeping with him. Duchovny has to be free and was letting her down easy.
watching for the first time, seasons 1-4 are the best
watching for the second time, only season 1 is worth it
The writing does drop off after season 1 and they focus more on sex and the humor aspects.

Hanks wife is a very pretty Eastern European woman.
She was in Ronin. Last great car chase movies before CGI Fast Furious ass show
She's from Montana and has size 16 shoes.
She's got stealth rocking body though.
Are you talking about DD ex wife Téa Leoni or British chick that played his wife on the show? Pretty sure she ain’t from Montana
His daughter looks like him
I really liked it as a kid (except for the last few seasons, the narrative cohesion and Hank's character start meandering to the point of incoherence) but the glorification of degeneracy in it is a bit too much for me now and I can't stand the Runkle character and his wife. >and Hank's character arc*
A reminder DD lost this and a family because he bought into a character.
Please, dude always a sex addict. Red Show Diaries. He should’ve just never gotten married been like Leo
Eh. He's bagged most of his co-stars and still gets starlets and random groupies that follow his writing and music tours. I say he's doing all right and at peace with his sex addiction. And he seems like a good dad, so he made the most of his predicament.
the first few seasons are kino
