Give it a try. I'm not even into anime and nichijou is one of the funniest show I've ever seen. It's actually more similar to tawog in tone. It exaggerate relatable experiences to absurd degree.

Second half had a few stinkers but it gets way overblown by haters. Last season and the movie were kino despite the movie's retcon.

Most comedy anime is trash (nichijou is mediocre) but Asobi Asobase is an exception. Great VA work and scenarios
it's the peak of jap comedy. you won't like it, so don't watch it.
Nichijou is one of like five anime that's actually made me laugh, it's pretty good. I don't think it's really comparable to Regular Show though, it's more like a cleaner EEnE where the show takes a core concept and ramps it up to absurdity leaning on high quality animation, snappy deliveries, and slapstick. It even has a trio of leads.
I find daily lives of highschool boys to be funnier than nichijou which is frankly boring.

For the most part I agree, even if there’s a lot of trash comedy cartoons. Most anime just rely on manzai comedy, weak slapstick or other tired methods to do jokes
Yeah. Even though the actually funny cartoons are stuff from adult swim like Xra or athf or even youtube animation. and for every other genre you have anime.
For classic cartoons and stuff before the 2010 and adventure time yes, for anything after no. OTGW is the only exception I can think of.
