I rewatched from the beginning recently. Seasons 1 and 2 were very fun and had lots of laughs, 3 was mostly good though it started to get s bit full of itself with le depressed Rick and Beth shit. S4 was almost entirely garbage, I tried to watch a few eps from S5 but I had to turn it off, painfully bad. Who the frick is still watching? Surely even Solar Opposites is a better show at this point. Somehow it zombified after just 30 episodes, compared with the Simpsons 150ish eps before getting stale

Justin Roiland's sci-fi comedy with no Dan Harmon. Just a family of aliens living on earth and goofing around. Tonally it feels more in line with the pilot episode of R&M which is probably what Roiland always wanted for Rick, but Dan Harmon had to jazz it up with his twisty subversion plots and depressed character arcs. Solar Opposites is pretty shit but I can see why someone would enjoy it over the shit that Rick & Morty became. For me the humour just feels too juvenile and its too stylistically close to R&M, the main character's voice is literally identical to Rick's. Worth checking it out if you want R&M content without all the Dan Harmon bullshit
It’s because they forced continuity instead of having classic Rick and Morty adventures. The whole families lives were affected, instead of just everything resetting to normal at the end of every episode. Absolutely trash.
Essentially the same show but Rick is the Dad and Jerry(voiced by that little fella from Silicon Valley) is his Wife and they’re aliens. They kept all the continuity on a B Plot about shrunk people and the family just has episode to episode adventures. But it’s all shit that was left on the floor from R&M clearly.
What did the guy even do? Isn't he like the VA for both Rick and Morty or some bullshit?

How did it become so bad? First 2 seasons are simple but effective, season 3 has its moments and after that it's complete garbage. Did they simply run out of ideas?
I personally hated all the episodes where the whole family took an active role. Nobody wants to see summer and beth acting like alium destroying badasses with jerrybad joke #9001. These episodes became way more frequent in the later seasons
They made it a point to add a ton of female "writers", one of which self inserts herself in the Pickle Rick episode to lecture Rick in a completely jarring moment.
I could see somewhat enjoying season 1 and 2 but season 3 was absolutely shit. That's the season where they fired all the writers and hired a bunch of women who recently graduated right?
I stopped caring about this show, that I didn't even finish season 6.

There's no way they can successfully replace Roiland. It's not just the voice, it's the acting too. His delivery style is too unique and is pretty much impossible to replicate for any sustained period of time. There's also the adlibbing. Hours and hours of it for every episode. They can cope all they want and bury this dude but he's fricking key to the success of Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites.
Whatever. Tracy Morgan will do just fine.
I'm convinced that Dan Harmon has a shelf life of 2 and a half seasons before he gets consumed by his meta bullshit.
Has nothing to really do with any sex scandal, the writers tried to go after Rick Prime and he fricked the show up good so that he is never exposed.
