I'll play a devil's advocate here: people say she's good on Orphan Black. I don't watch that show so take it with a grain of salt, but I'm inclined to believe the problem is the shitty material was given. You can't really show much acting range when your entire character can be summarized as nothing but "smug c**t".
She doesn’t really need to “act” in orphan black. The people (and by people I mean fat chicks) who say this just like her Brillo head hair and think she’s relatable because she isn’t overly attractive.
The character currently has no real goals, no stakes thanks to how her show ended, no narrative to overcome, not even any villains. There's nothing to redeem because there's no low for her to pick herself up from besides just regular old plain jane nepotism hires who are bad at their job. Her only angle at this point is "Lawyer for superheros", only we already have that and he managed to have better jokes and more presence in 2 minutes during No Way Home than she did in her entire show, and he's actually got a good first season to fall back on and somewhere for his character to go in the future.
We can't redeem her because she started out the gate at the top in the narrative and at the bottom in writing, she hit a dead end before the first episode finished.
The question is, does she keep getting the DevilD, because she somehow had the equivalent of the power to Loki S2 and squandered that for Matt Murwiener. Do they even mention it? I haven't looked up the cast for the next DD series but Karen isn't coming back, is she?

Honestly I'm with you. She's not a bad actress. I didn't need to watch Orphan Black to see that, but the writing of the show was what was off.
