I watched the movie and there is no point where Raph or Splinter were gay. People were up in arms about Splinter making out with a character that people misidentified as male. Its a witch hunt for anything woke to be alarmist over.

Wasn’t that the exact same movie that idiots were calling “woke” until it blew the box office away and then the exact same idiots calling it woke on YouTube scrambled to say “oh, it’s actually anti-woke guys! Hehe, so when I said ‘go woke, go broke’ I wasn’t wrong, see? Dylan mulvaney!”
We need to know what your definition of woke is. Check any of these boxes of things you consider woke and I'll get back to you in 7 - 14 business days as to whether or not you're safe to watch this movie:
Woman
Trans
Black
Non-binary
"They/Them"
Feminist
LGBTQ+ Flag
"Safe Spaces"
"Patriarchy"
"White privilege"
>Woman >Black
only when it's meant to be a selling point for the movie(for example "The little mermaid is now black, so that black girls can finally identify with this character", or "this character is now a girl because this franchise needed more diversity"), women and black people in of itself are not woke
the rest however is unquestionable a definite sign for being woke
>so that black girls can finally identify with this character
I never understood the "to relate to a character, they have to look like you!" Thing. I mean, maybe it's because I'm tswana, as opposed to black American, but I never gave a shit about that when I watched shows. I just enjoyed them.
Ok, how many black Americans do you know that actually give a shit about the ethnicity of a character in a show. Is that a conversation that you’ve actually held with a black American. I ask because I’m a black American, most of the people that I know are black Americans and so on and the only time the subject has come up around me is when someone that wasn’t black was complaining about the ethnicity of someone in a movie or show. I used to watch gi joe growing up. The fact that roadblock was in that show wasn’t why I watched it and to be frank, I don’t think roadblock was in that show for me.
Its a passive thing people don't notice at all until they are the minority. You see this shit with kids of all stripes who grow up in foreign countries where they aren't the majority.
Its just over played in media to make it look like the kids were about to have a breakdown because they didn't see a black actor like them. Extreme cases is countries that are recovering for what ever reason put mandates on their media that their must be X amount of Y type in media for representation.
it's black coded as frick. >Black Villain named "Super Fly" a blaxploitation movie >Black April >Hip Hop music (not that new for turtles) >Black lingo >POC voice cast
no thank you.
>Villain named "Super Fly" a blaxploitation movie
Thanks for specifying. Otherwise I would have confused it with Super Fly the laundry detergent. Fricking zoomers.
I don't want to be that guy but hip hop was born in in that area of New York the film takes place in which is why there's so much new york hip hop in the soundtrack.
Maybe, but young fols' days are numbered too. Like hell I'm going to do anything to save the environment or economy if this is what you're doing with art.
>Like hell I'm going to do anything to save the environment or economy if this is what you're doing with art.
You never cared about the environment, art, or other people anyway. Hurry up and stop breathing our air and consuming our resources.
welcome to current year, where everything must be seen as something apart of a culture war, and not just a stupid fricking movie.
when it comes to the internet, anyway. cause, thankfully, we aren't at the point where your avearge normalgay is treating media like this.
everything becomes "part of a culture war" when crossdressers, lesbians and critical race theory are injected into children's media by childless adult bolsheviks you disingenuous leftypol moron.
You know, at some point the "we're just trying to teach kids (...)" motte and bailey shit needs to stop before people round you gays in the streets and we go full Weimer.
The lack of accountability is truly understated. Every time some radical goes out of control with their KILL ALL STRAIGHT WHITE MEN shit the lib response is to plug their ears and scream SHUT UP THIS ISN'T HAPPENING BIGOT, enabling the "loud minority" to fester and take over the whole movement with their blatantly hateful intentions.

>also i heard the rumor that Splinter is gay now but i don't know is it's true.
He's not. The marketing mistakingly labeled Scumbug male, but in the movie the character is female.
I don't see how anyone can look at April McRib's design and still need additional information to decide if it's woke.
The weirdest thing is that if we go off the face alone she’s objectively the best looking human character in the film. But they just needed to make her a potato for some reason.
It actually made me mad that she looked nice top half and then was horribly misshapen everywhere else. And then Leo has to keep saying she is attractive like this is some Robot Jones irony
It doesn’t really promote anything regarding systemic racism or stupid bullshit like that. Just that you can’t define yourself by other peoples bad view of you. It’s a pretty meaningless message, but it least isn’t woke.
i enjoyed it, fun popcorn flick. couple belly laughs from myself and others in the theater. woke stuff isn't in your face too much but it's there. Music was incredible
Everybody in the movie is funny looking. April, as she is, is actually kinda cute for the style. Leo has a crush on her when they first meet. Tho they didn’t do anything with it past a certain part of the movie. But it’s clear that they want fetish art drawn of her milking Leo, so I’ll go draw some fetish porn of her milking him.
>we wanted to make a coming of age movie that would resonate with young people! >...we have no idea what young people like, what is relevant to them, or what they want
If they want to reference anime at least make April cute, there's plenty of brown skinned anime girls that are cute like Mirko, Mihoshi, Aisha, Kaolla Su etc...
Wasn't this written by Seth and Evan? I saw in the trailers that it was the Superbad guys. I know things have changed since 2007 but has Seth really gone woke?
Woke
Have you seen all the ads? They're focusing more on the cast than the movie.
They've also been advertising early screenings for a while.
With its release on a Wednesday, if it hits $100 million or whatever, it will be easy to make people believe it was a hit over the weekend.
> They're focusing more on the cast than the movie.
I just watched it. It’s literally a movie about the cast of characters. They spend a large segment of the movie character building and establishing everyone’s motivations and goals. The main characters are all outcasts that react differently to being outcasts. Splinter just wants to protect his boys due to a traumatic event, April is basically a pariah at her school because of one embarrassing thing that happened to her. The turtles were too young to remember the event that triggered splinter’s trauma. The main villain suffered a similar traumatic event to the one splinter suffered but reacted differently. The other mutants with him were there when most of it happened but missed the worst part that the main villain saw and experienced first hand. Also anyone saying splinter is gay should go frick themselves. He gets a h]girlfriend at the end of the movie and has only expressed that he wanted one in the film from what o saw.

YAWN.
>We have to do something about sexualization of female characters in media, to protect easily triggered roasties with low self esteem that feel envious of fictional characters.
Life is an incredible gift. There are more life-forms, from the poison dart frog, to the giant squid, to birds that change colors and dance to attract their mate, to giant tree sloths, than humans can count. The universe is deeper than we'll ever know and the oceans more mysterious than we'll ever discover. This glory, this exquisite fragile gift, to behold so much, is made even more miraculous by how brief it is. We each get one life and there is so much to see.
Why would you choose to spend this life inhaling roof paint and then asking if cartoons are "woke" or not. That word didn't even exist 10 years ago and most people can't even agree on what it means.
Here's a better question: Was it funny? Was the action good? Were the characters likeable? Was the villain badass? How was the soundtrack?
Or you could waste your breath and ask whether every single thing that briefly fills the space in front of your eyeballs is or isn't "woke." You will waste your one life
>Was it funny?
there is no need to ask this, woke shit is the definition of anti-fun since all the fun things people enjoy are deemed as problematic and censored by the Woke authoritarian mob.
I went to watch it last night with low to mid expectations. But it greatly exceeded my expectations and I plan on watching it again next week. This movie is a passion project and it shows. There's alot of soul put into it that only a real fan would know how to appeal to the audience. It has a more childish vibe and there is an emphasis on their brotherly love. Nothing more I could ask for, personally.
Contrarian haters who never leave their house are b***hing about a movie they needed to find an arbitrary reason justify not going to see it/enjoy it. Farming public opinion from 4ch is pointless.
It's anti-woke I checked. Mikey accidentally calls Rocksteady a bigger, pretty bold in today's day and age
Raph is gay in this one. And so is Splinter.
Splinter isn't gay. Just had no Standards.
For real? Or it was some "gay joke" like Bugs Bunny kissing men and crossdressing?
I watched the movie and there is no point where Raph or Splinter were gay. People were up in arms about Splinter making out with a character that people misidentified as male. Its a witch hunt for anything woke to be alarmist over.
Would have made more sense to make Donatello gay, but of course the purple headband would have been too obvious
Why Donnie would be gay when the 2012 version convinced normies he is the horny one?
It's just shit. avoid it anyway

Didn't you hear? Ken is the "secret protagonist".
Showonhead made a video titled Barbie: accidental anti-woke masterpiece.

You call the short about the dad trying to help his daughter woke because it had black people, so no.

this one, is about a father stepping up to care for his daughter now that his mother can't do it all.
