I genuinely can't think of a good movie released in the past few years >you're just looking in the wrong places
No. Literal blockbuster movies used to be very well received and also genuinely really good kino
Most pseud movie I’ve ever seen
My friend really recommended it and I had to not be too harsh watching it with him because I didn’t want to be overly negative but it’s fr a 6/10
I think blockbusters were a fluke that only lasted for a period of 5-10 years smack bang in the middle of the '90s, everything else in movie history has been generally garbage and samey.
It's not an either-or question. You get more discerning taste as you get older and can spot bullshit more easily, but also movies are worse because they all have massively-overinflated budgets and are made to be as lowest-common-denominator as possible.
It's much worse. There's a parallel phenomenon in that you're comparing the entire canon of good to great movies made during decades to the movies being released nowadays, but there's no denying that in itself the current output is on average very mediocre and forgettable.
I don't think it's unrelated. TV used to be the Opium of the Masses. And with it all going to shit over the past decade, a lot of the violent idiots that should just be in their home getting brain rot from TV have decided to go out into the world, to be violent idiots in public.
AI: this one is self evident
Challenges to the establishment: you might laugh, but ~15 years ago it was all GWB vs Obama, Obama vs Romney, now things are a little bit wilder even though everyone still shills for Israel
Spaceflight: look at SpaceX
>even though everyone still shills for Israel
The fact that you can go out into an American city and not see the same enthusiastic response that shitlibs had for Ukraine speaks louder than anything else
I was in the mood to see a movie after work today, but I looked at what's playing and you would have to pay me double the ticket price to see anything out now. The industry is godfrickingawful at the moment.
are you serious?

Pig and Old Henry have been the only good movies since 2020
You got older. It happens.
>hiring only israelites, gays, purple-haired LGBwhatevers and nogs definitely hasn't resulted in a massive decline in standards
>you're just old

I think Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as well as Pokemon Legends: Arcues, are among the most fun titles in the history of the franchise.

Why is there no lid on that bin?
It’s become increasingly hard to care about what comes out because it’s all “content” vs. being an actual film
he looks comfy

Hollywood product is unquestionably the worst its ever been.
The actors have gotten uglier but other than that, its always been this bad.
Movies stopped being fun when they went digital.
