Is there a bigger example of film critic hypocrisy than this?

Signs was a cultural phenomenon when it was released.

hardly, it was a moderate success at most. Just because it had tons of ads on teevee doesn't mean it was a big deal culturally

Lol, it grossed 408 million in 2002. It was highest grossing of the year that wasn't based on an existing IP.

Peele is arguably the most overrated director working right now.

He’s good, but Nope feels pre-mature. If it had been a late period film, I probably would have liked it more. It’s still great and I think he’ll be worth the praise he’s getting now a couple years from now. The thing I hate about his movies is that they all feel like serious Key & Peele skits. Where you still have the social commentary, and the humor, but in a serious package that feels constraining. I think once he grows out of that, he’ll be someone who’s movies I’ll like more. Right now, he has way too many writing habits from back then that feel limiting considering he wants to an artsy filmmaker. I think B.J Novak’s Vengeance is a good example of a movie with all the things I hate about comedians getting into filmmaking.

So he’s actually not good and failed miserably. All his movies are good waste of time astroturfed shit.

Us has more reviews, also the percentage itself doesn't mean much.
The cut off for "fresh" is 6/10. 5/10 is rotten. There's no "mediocre" rating only bad and good.

Get Out is his only film to really earn raves. Mostly because the other two barely have a racial element. I don't think he's being much overrated. He will probably stay in the lane of hipster sci-fi / horror.
I also thought Nope was a good movie.

        >Us has more reviews
Why do you think this is an argument in favor of US? RT score tends to decline with morw reviews and the fact it has such a higher percentage despite nearly twice the number of reviews is even more damning.
        >The cut off for "fresh" is 6/10. 5/10 is rotten.
You get the average critic score as well.

RT inflates scores for modern movies by including a shit ton of literal who bloggers. They're cheaper to buy off and often have shit taste (this is particularly good for capeshit, they don't even have to buy them out, these morons eat it up for free).
Average critic score is faulty at best because they have to interpret various rating systems into their */10 system. For example does 3 stars out of 5 mean 7/10 or 6/10? It's easy if the rating system in question has "half starts" but if it doesn't it can easily be either of these ratings. Not to mention exotic rating systems and critics who don't rate films at all (like Armond White).

Peele at least knows he isn’t some horror master and actively shuts down the sycophants who claim he is.

Any “rt score” of any movie that came out before rt existed will look odd compared to movies that came out after marketing firms started gaming rt scores.

The long and short is rt is not meaningful.

why do You care but seriously?
this has been the case for years, decades, and it will not change,
the people in charge have propaganda to push so let them tell their lies,
and instead of engaging into their lies,
just do what Jesus Christ would and simply ignore them,
let them tell lies to themselves and without publicity they will lose their mind in time
