Is there any movies about the Kowloon Walled City?

Is there any movies about the Kowloon Walled City? Absurdly densely populated shithole, with basically no laws, and controlled by gangs. Seems like the perfect setting for a movie with beautiful visuals focusing on the concrete jungle.

It came about mostly because of some weird land argument between the Chinese and the Brits, it was in Hong Kong but that small chunk of land was still owned by the Chinese so different rules applied.

the city was built on an old Chinese imperial fort.
the land belonged to China and was not legally governed by the British. it there for attracted a lot of Chinese mainlanders that could not live in Hong Kong legally. basically, a big complex larp

When the brits took over Hong Kong, the Chinese kept a tiny patch of land and that little patch of land turned into Kowloon Walled City. Now that the Chinese are back in control of HK they will probably end up demolishing it at some point in the near future

China is facing water shortages because instead of using the water they have judiciously they instead waste it all on a bunch of outdated rice paddies, then they go and steal water from their neighbors to make up for the loss. The average Chinese has no sense of living in harmony with nature, if one saw some rare creature the first thing they'd do is try to kill and eat it.

As far as actual movies I couldn't say, but here's a couple of interesting documentaries off youtube. The first 2 are showcases about living in Kowloon itself, whereas the last one is a dramatization of a man and his family trying to move out of Kowloon, supposedly based off a true story. I think I found at least one of these off a previous Cinemaphile Kowloon thread, so if anyone has any more please do share.

it was bad because it was a lawless Chinese enclave deep inside Hong Kong.
the brits had no jurisdiction over it for a long time and they had a hands-off policy pretty much until the early 90's

And that's it for the screencaps I have from a cursory glance. The book is City of Darkness - Life in Kowloon Walled City by Ian Lambot. Should be able to get a pdf just from a google like I did. If not I can upload, many of the stories themselves are just as interesting as the pictures

Where do you live that makes you so badass? Also kowloon is objectively icky and gross. 1000% more so then other 3rd world countries with how dense it was and how haphazard the sewage system was. Probably the only comparisons is some absurdly sad African country or some parts of India.

Weird, it’s got the same title as this book about Kowloon.

This is non fiction and a must read for anyone interested in the city. A white b***h goes on a missionary expedition to Kowloon and sees unfathomable degeneracy there. She even becomes beloved by gang members.

        Anonymous

Chasing the dragon is a common term for using opium. Kowloon was a place where you could chase the dragon very easily.
