Not her, but what Friedkin denied was that this was a remake of THE FILM Wages of Fear. But this is of course an adaptation of THE BOOK Wages of Fear.

I think the main problem that stopped it from becoming big was the release of star wars around the same time. Also Friedkin for some reason denied that it was a remake of wages of fear even though it clearly is. Also can’t recommend the film enough one of the most atmospheric films I’ve ever seen

Yeah, it's great. Just be conscious that the prologue is pretty extensive and yes, you are watching the right movie.
Haven't seen this one, but original still holds the frick up. Highly recommended if you don't have ADHD.
