It borders on comical how long it keeps going on. It's kino despite that.
>Only if u havent seen any other sub films >doesn't know history
The sub it is based on actually made it back. The crew of it advised Wolfgang Petersen during filming, that's why it is realistic.
What do you mean doesn't take damage? They are nearly done for in the beginning, that's why they are on their way back to port when they tell them to go to Spain and resupply and do repairs there before going through Gibraltar.
At Gibraltar they are actually sunk and only survive cause they hit a sand ridge. >"God has put a shovelful of sand under us."
Do zoomers even watch movies or are you on your phone the whole time like women?
1) The Beatles Yellow Submarine music video
2) The footage of the sub imploding that was observing the titanic
3) The Family Guy episode where Stewy and Brian go back in time and steal the nazi submarine
tbh Its not for everyone.
Its 3 1/2 fricking hours and slow on top of it. But thats kinda the point and makes it the most accurate sub kino. You feel the characters vitamin d deficiency and boredom then suddenly the random panic of being attacked.
The original (best) version is a 6-part miniseries with ~1hr runtime each. The whole thing is just under 6hrs long. It's the ultimate sea/ship/sub kino and hasn't been topped since. They actually made two replicas of the U-boat, one for external shots and one for inside shots.
>The actors all spent several weeks training on how to move in a submarine and operate their posts >The Captain and First Officer of U-96 served as consultants on the film >The film was shot in chronological order so that the actors' beard growth would be accurate >The actors were also forbidden to go outside during the day so they'd all go properly pale >The set was built exactly to scale using the original plans for the boat, and the props were all genuine items borrowed from war museums >The entire set was on hydraulics so it could be tilted in the direction of the boat, and shaken when hit by depth charges or crashing >There was no additional lighting, or cutaway spaces for cameras to hide in, the whole thing had to be filmed with custom-made handheld cameras because there wasn't room for anything else >The actors were intentionally picked from all over Germany and Austria to ensure a diverse set of dialects, and they were required to speak English too so they could all dub their own lines in the international version
Autist auteurs like Nolan have got NOTHING on German Auteur Autism
>you now remember the 2018 Das Boot tv show >filled with lesbian romances and comically evil nazis >half the show is about ferrying a fat american spy around whos plotpoint ends up being a thinly veiled jab at Trump
Yes
DAS RITE
Only if u havent seen any other sub films. This one is just a sub getting depth charged every 15mins for 3hrs and never taking any damage
It borders on comical how long it keeps going on. It's kino despite that.

Why is it always lesbians?
It's not a film, you're missing out if you don't get the original 6-hour miniseries.
Is it the same thing as the film but extended?
The reverse, they cut the series down to make the movies.
