I gotta be honest, every time I see what anime is trendy on here it's always something like this. I watched the first episode of the one with the girl who has purple hair and the babies who were her fans or whatever - animation looked expensive but the plot was the sappiest, most emotionally manipulative dogshit. I swear, they just have to dangle a neotenic waif in front of you guys like keys before a child and you're hooked.
Oshi no Ko was okay. Blonde guy searching for idol murderer enabler and navigating entertainment industry was fun.

I prefer mushoku tensei besides the weird horny scenes, but thinking back i was a horny mf too, but seeing it in anime weirds me out.
The Mushoku Tensei plot is just another "I am a fat useless otaku but one day I woke up in a fantasy world". I actually enjoyed the worldbuilding in the first season, but got bored in the second. When that demon e-girl arrived I sort of realized the plot was just sort of hashed together for this purpose.
Sousou Frieren however seems to be 100% about the plot without any distractions, it is refreshing because there is so little kino nowadays that it solely about the theme itself.

Had to drop it in episode 3 during that fight with that ancient lord or whatever. The anime, as is typical of jap shit, went completely overboard and utterly ruined any immersion I had. Typically I can smell jap shit already in the first episode but this one managed to fool me. I had high hopes for this one but once again the jap writers can't keep a consistent tone and always go overboard in at least one thing. Too bad as I really wanted to like it. I love the "one member of the party is ageless and watches everyone else getting old" trope
