Californication? Sure
X-files is a hoot, well worth watching
How many times do you think these 2 fricked each other? I’m gonna say 86. Duchovny is a sex addict and Gillian Anderson is a nympho
>Gillian Anderson is a nympho
source?
You now remember that gif/webm
I do.
Please have a nice day in the head with a shotgun, and angle it forward so you don't actually die but are left without a face and in agony for life

damn I wish I locked eyes with this milf one day, it has to be done at least once and I would have lived my life to the fullest.
She must be a real succubus. She keeps mentioning her sons as if she were obsessed with yound blood
Gillian probably caused David's sex addiction
No, she was pure before the israelite spoiled her.
Literally the best show ever, so yes.
At least once. They genuinely liked each other and their chemistry was too good.
yes
Seeing as you're so fricking stupid you have ask such a dumb question on 4chinz of all places, then no, the greatest monster of the week TV kino ever made is not for you. Frick off. Go watch Euphoria or whatever else they're shilling around here at the moment. That's more your speed, xir/gay/it.
The first 3 seasons are great.
it's pretty damn good. first few seasons have some really cringy monster-of-the-week episodes that you will want to skip. imo just look up the scores for the episodes beforehand and skip the worst ones.
Yes. It holds up.
Is that the show where they keep playing Zevon songs?
rewatching it now and its still fricking great
just "finished" season 8, holy shit so boring. season 9 isn't looking much better.
but from 1-7 its pretty kino.
i heard i missed a movie so i have to go back and watch that.
the first movie is decent, it's basically a longer, higher production value episode of the show
don't bother with the second movie seriously.
the second movie is so fricking bad. it's a skully episode but longer
once mulder left shit went downhill imo, robert patrick is great but he was no substitute for duchovony here
wait he comes back right?
RIGHT?!
Yes and no.
S6 on blows
Mytharc wise s6 is decent at least until the syndicate is destroyed, and most of the MOTW episodes are good with just a few obvious duds (alpha and the rain king). Season 7 is where the series quality really plummets.
It's very comfy, but jesus frick it's 200+ episodes.
200+ hour long episodes plus 2 movies.
its like telling your friend "yeh you have to watch all 600+ episodes of naruto but its really good"
you kinda have to trick people into getting into it.
a few times i have hooked up my old crt to watch it on that and it was fricking amazing, started raining outside while i ate pot noodles. that was a great night.
you can safely skip all the filler in naruto and get one of the best shounen animes. skipping monster of the week in x-files? might aswell not watch it.
>skipping monster of the week in x-files?
never said i did that.
no but your comparison sucks since you can skip 40% of one show but not the other.
kys narutard
dont forget the movies!
No.
Real Duchovny Kino
>magically fricks every woman he sees
based and chauvinismpilled
based and bukowskipilled
>locks eyes with 10/10 woman
>cuts to scene where he's fricking her
I wanna be him bros
>scully the mothership just passed overhead in the exact amount of time you were unconscious
>stfu mulder u gayet
Ehhh. It's extremely hit or miss and the main plot thread is boring and muddled. Has some of the best one-offs ever, though. Just keep your finger on the skip button.
>Just keep your finger on the skip button.
this is essential after season 5. i skipped like 1/4 of season 7 and 1/2 of season 8.
talk-run-talk-shoot-talk-drive-talk-run
fricking hell. not even doing like detective work or anything.
How has nobody made an essential watch guide for X-files like they did Twin Peaks, Stargate, etc.? I wanna know what episodes to skip goddamn it
Too many episodes to sort out, too much work.
You have to eat all the episodes.
There's picrel but just watch them all anon
We did it reddit!
I followed this one in my rewatch
>short url . at /lpFZ3
There is one that I've seen posted on Cinemaphile but sadly I do not have it anon, just keep asking for it and it'll get posted eventually
easy mode: seasons 1-5 (only mythology episodes and episodes with IMDB rating >8), then the first movie, then STOP.
That is the historically correct and TV Guide informed way to watch it.
Watching Gender Bender now
Lots of memorable performances by guest stars.
Of course.
I would watch the frick out of x files if it was Coop and Denise.
No. The series promises big payoff of conspiracy and just fizzles out and shits the bed by the time it gets to the end and falls off a cliff in the final movie..
David Lynch was pretty smart in how he recognized when you start giving away resolutions to mysteries you end up killing the appeal of your show.
As a viewer you feel like you want to find out what the answers are but onfe you get them you stop caring.
Not that him knowing this helped much since he was forced to reveal his own show's central mystery too.
But yeah, much like with Twin Peaks and who killed Laura, X-Files was kind of ruined by the reveals about the aliens, the hybrids, CSM and the government's involvememnt, Mulder's sister, etc.
Imagine X-Files made by David Lynch.
I now know this is all I want.
I think what Lynch got right that other media fails at is the necessary drip feed of information that keeps it from stringing the viewer along without ANY resolution. Other series religiously fail at proper exposition, leaving it as either an infodump that destroys the entire status quo or non-exposition that doesn't fundamentally move anything.
Isn't that what israeliteisraelite Abrams known for?
Lost was shit and I couldn't name another show he did if I tried.
I think he did Heroes but I don't remember anything about it.
I also think the big difference is that lynch is an occultist and storyteller while Abrams is just a israelite. Abrams can't present a metaphysical question worth a frick and definitely can't resolve it. Lunch answers the fricking question and we spend 30 years arguing what it meant.
Lynch asks a metaphysical question: cat or dog?
Audience: hmmm
Lynch shows middle finger: here is your answer.
Audience what does it mean?
>since he was forced to reveal his own show's central mystery too
No he wasn't, The Return didn't answer anything and just doubled down on being enigmatic. For proof, you can't give the supposed answer.
Lynch was forced to do the BOB reveal early in season 2 due to executive meddling. Then him and frost fricked off and the show went to shit.
It was great when it was airing. I don't like most of it on a rewatch though. Kind of loses its magic when you've already seen it and when there's since been decades of storywriting built on top of what shows like that pioneered. It's an effect with watching older shows in general where they can seem kind of slow and corny after you've been exposed to many years of escalation upon that original formula.
So, recommend shows that improved the idea.
>millennials literally came in their x-men underwear over the thought of these 2 fossils going at it
go back
Yes.
For me, it's 2012-2016
>Hasn't seen The Great
>reversing the wall
what is it plastic surgery or childs blood
Low body fat.
>reversing the wall
she is just a rare case of inverse wall. there was a rough patch in the middle but gold on both sides.

Are women above 50 allowed to make this face?
Only if they are GILFs.
She’s a good blonde this one
What's the best non-paranormal episode and why was it Hell Money?
does that green bug episode count?
Darkness Falls. Great, super kino episode. Kind of walks the line between the paranormal and not. Wonderful to watch regardless.
oh and that episode where some hacker like uploads his mind to some space lazer?
also alot of the ones that involve the lone gunman.
absolutely. 90's tv kino.
Watch Millennium. Oh wait it’s not streaming anywhere
millenium sucked

I really need a new mystery series.
some of em still are. but god damn did chris carter have to light everything so dark, every single episode looks like a batman movie even the lighthearted ones.
my side monitor has fricked up white balance or something so everything is way lighter on it so i always use it to watch xfiles while i play some games on my main.
> every single episode looks like a batman movie even the lighthearted ones.
Unironically good.
Juwkhovny is indeed the kind of guy who would smoke weed between the Mulder takes.
Explains Mulder's emotionless autism.
literally me
literally me rn
Me when reading your stupid posts on Cinemaphile
>when a thread dies as you are about to post your schizo rant.
literally me
>you now remember that episode that duchovny wrote and directed that was about a black baseball player that was actually an alien
pure duchovny kino
Meanwhile when Anderson wrote and directed an episode, it was that godawful one about the married professor Scully fricked with that shitty Moby song playing constantly.
i just watched that one a couple weeks ago
fricking awful.
>I'm working on next months oscar nominations, any preferences?
I couldn't care less. What I don't want to see is janny getting a raise or a promotion.
that episode about him shooting jfk was really good.
the smoking man is both the best and worst characters in the show.
But when he is good, he is so damn good.
His style is pure X-Files and is what I miss.
Also he looks somewhat like one of my philosophy professors which is funny.
great voice.
>
Watching X-Files with no lights on
We're dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Absolutely. The monster of the week episodes are the best. Very comfy.
I just had to turn it off when that one episode ended in a cover of Walkin' in Memphis and the black and white dissolve. Just terrible.
dont remember that episode.
i think the x files have probably the best one offs and like holiday episodes like halloween and stuff like that.
whoops typo
Granted I was half awake and it woke me up so I was already pissed but just ugh.
I have twin peaks and x-files. Which series do I watch first?
x files. if you get overwhelmed by the amount of seasons and episodes you can quite at like season 8 and then watch twin peaks.
im on season 9 and im thinking about ditching and watching twin peaks.
only the ones that have some special monster in them.. the lore episodes just get boring and repetitive real fast.
no
I was excited when it first aired, but it went to shit pretty fast.
When did Sneed sell out to Lory?
they traded, Lory used to own the prostitute and Snore
that was a good episode
i had burned that ending from my mind.
>fathers side
doesnt count
Reminder that Prometheus stole the black oil from X-Files
>worth watching?
Heck yes
>worth watching?
>Heck yes
it is
> glowBlack folk put cp on dissidents computers to neutralize them
The 1st film was redpilled as fuark
They also reenacted the Oklahoma City bombing on the big screen and portrayed it as a government false flag to destroy evidence of aliens contained in the building. That took some balls to do barely 3 years after it happened.
I wish that X-Files would have had a couple of long term / recurring villains that weren't alien related like Cigarette Smoking Man. Toombs, the elastic monster, made two appearances but other villains were typically just 'monsters of the week.'
There were also a few very week episodes - and I'm not talking about the campy ones. I never had a problem with light hearted humor being occasionally inserted. My main criticism is of the 'serious and frightening episodes' that fell flat. For example, the reincarnated cop one never had any real menace in it. I remember watching it and thinking, 'if I was in charge I'd have an episode where Mulder discovers a clique of reincarnated Nazis who are fighting with an old Nazi doctor about his plan to clone Hitler. The leader of the reincarnated Nazis does not want that to happen because it will destroy his ability to be the Fuhrer.' Basically I'd have done a tribute episode that references the Boys From Brazil and maybe a bit of Indiana Jones.
I also wanted a good sasquatch / bigfoot episode.
I once wrote a postcard to Chris Carter telling him he should adapt this weird Japanese book called Parasite Eve into an episode. I remember looking up an address for Ten Thirteen Productions on the internet at school because we didn't have a computer at home. This would have been around 96 or 97. I wonder if he ever got it.
I've never read that one but I thought about writing a book in which the villains are vampire like humans who derive their predatory nature & extended lifespan from rare parasitic worms found in Mayan ruins. I just don't have the time to do it and feel the vampire genre is oversaturated.
My conception would be that the parasite infested 'vampires' would look more or less human, be mildly averse to sunlight, and need to consume blood due to the parasite being a haemophage (it feeds on blood ingested by the host).
I wish the 'evil jumping from person' concept was explored more, they could've made a season-long arc out of it.
*person to person
I rewatched it during the Autumn last year and experienced great pleasure and fun.
Is the hdtv a cut-off SD or is the SD a cutoff HDTV? Aka do I get everything in 16:9 or in 4:3?
All these wides look like total shit, so the former.
I wonder, does anyone have an episode to compare? I prefer 4:3 myself, but I dont like top watch SD if I dont have to. I think they shot in 1.66:1, so it was eidescreen originally. Maybe they thought about early HDTV.
Being shot in widescreen doesn't mean it was even intended to be viewed that way. The HD cut of buffy is terrible because of that and a lot of other reasons. All these cut off foreheads is a big NO outside of certain shots.
I can always watch widescreen and just zoom in to have 4:3, to have the original experience. I just dont want to cut off a bunch of stuff that I was intented to see
They should have dropped the alien shit when Doggett and Reyes stepped in. Their whole thing should have been some big occult conspiracy.
Is there even alien shit? Do super soldiers count as alien?
Yeah they're literally alien body snatchers. I don't know why the hell they called them something moronic like super soldiers.
first five seasons, yes
rest only if you enjoy the monsters of the week episodes and can ignore the nonsense plot episodes
