Neither show is funny but it's a testament to the bad taste of americans that they continued watching that drivel for 9 seasons instead of tuning out early like the brits

How would that even function in a Saudi setting? Actual Saudis don't work at all, they get govt gibs and all actual labour is performed by imported plebs.
The entire premise is a documentary is being filmed by a production crew and through side interviews and camera following around, a story is told.
This premise is only by good for 1-2 seasons, then the fictional camera crew would have enough for the doc.
The US version completely ignores this premise which is the foundation to the comedy, and goes on for 9seasons with shaky cam and actors looking at the camera.

Ironically this anime was like 10% work and 90% hanging out, partying and post-work activities
Just like actual Japanese offices. Japanese office workers pretend to work hard. They stay at the office after hours so they wouldn't have to go home to their 30m2 apartment they share with their wife, kids and mother-in-law. They bring a pillow to work and pretend to sleep because they want to give the impression they were up all night working when in fact they were up all night drinking.
10 seasons is not enough. 100 seasons. It's really powerful. Show.
