numerous characters have hard-to-remember japanese names (and I say that as someone who's watched subbed anime since I was 10) with multiple aliases and forms. And the cast is just relatively large on top of that.
the asynchronous timeline is in both the manga and anime but it's now linear, the prequel plot has ended.
the actual passage of time is given by the depictions of the moon in each chapter.

I don't disagree that people are influenced by the media they consume and that the tik tok generation is potentially more vapid than previous ones, but that doesn't really answer the question other than to imply they're oversaturated with sexualised content.
I don't think there's the connection you think it is because if true they'd look at the content from their oversaturated sources less over time, too.
In reality hormonal youths are going to be hormonal regardless of the quantity of content and the only thing that might happen with oversaturation is they'll become more discerning of the quality of the sexualized media.

Half the responses to this thread are "sex scenes are unnecessary because I'll just go watch porn." This is like an alcoholic saying that light beer is unnecessary because you can just chug vodka.
