This show had two good things
Spike's hair and suit was about as good as you could possible translate anime to live action.
Jet's actor fit the character well (but it sucks they just put him in a jumpsuit instead of something more like the anime)
Literally everything else about it is pure and utter shit. A giant frick you to the fans of the original and such a low budget piece of shit work that it didn't appeal to anybody else either.
It's like they wanted it to fail on purpose.
I think blacks are more into the shonen stuff than this type of anime.

Again I will say the actor did a good job at playing Jet regardless.
I'm a huge fan of the original and have watched it at least once a year for over 20 years. I was skeptical about his casting, but I think he did a good job
The cast itself is what I had the least amount of issues with. They chose to go fanfic for most of it instead of just adapting the episodes 1:1. The added dialogue did not help either. Just like every other failed adaptation, they forgot what made the series famous.
Yes anon, it was trash. We all know it was trash. But we've reached the point of talking about the trash that its more interesting to find something, anything, laudable amongst it.
So far we've gotten two votes for Spike's suit and thats it. It is a really nice suit though. And Cho wears it well
It's insane they cast a 50 year old man to play Spike. I just can't understand the angle. Literally everyone would have preferred somebody 25 years younger.
Spike has some backstory so it makes more sense casting him older than 20s, but casting a 50 year old (and especially making him older than Jet) was pretty moronic
Im not watching any media that determines core archetypes to be outdated or tries to "update" them in the name of progress. The seductress is an archetype, Faye is a seductress, this show determines that is problematic. So now she is a wisecracking, adventure loving swashbuckler who always has a quip ready. Like what the frick? How do you even arrive at that? And the writers know what theyre doing, theyre doing this shit intentionally, they saw the anime and consciously decided "this has to be changed" so frick you I wont even watch it.
it was even worse
Netflix should just shut down their production studios. They are too fricking embarrassing to be on Earth right now.
It was watchable, but the quality was all over the place and at time it was downright bad, especially with the budget they were given.
Meant to launder money, only reason why they keep producing moronic ideologically driven disasters time and time again.
I tried watching both the anime and the netflix live action
I liked the live action better. Even the homosexual parts were less homo. The anime has a literal troony
>morons have internet access too
I know this bait but the "troony" in the anime is a dude who got experimented on and grew breasts. He thinks he's an abomination.
>He thinks he's an abomination.
trans sisters.....tell me this isn't true...............
who the frick keeps making these ironic threads
It was pretty bad, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Ed ruined both. Why do they have to put such spergy characters in anime? Especially anime that is presumably aimed at adults?
how can the character who appeared for 30 seconds at the end of the last episode ruin it?
Cuz you now know that b***h is gonna be in season two and 30 seconds of them on screen was already too much
WELCOME TO THE OUCH MOTHER FRICKER!!!!1 XD

Jet isnt black. Netflix forcing that shit is just an insult to the character. They might as well have an indian playing spike
I know he's not black, I'm just saying the actor did a good job at playing Jet either way. He was the only redeeming part really.
Perhaps its true that black people are the most diehard anime fans. I dunno
I think blacks are more into the shonen stuff than this type of anime.

John Cho is too old but he isn't too terrible as Spike and yeah his hair and costume is the best it could be without being too cosplay
The cast itself is what I had the least amount of issues with. They chose to go fanfic for most of it instead of just adapting the episodes 1:1. The added dialogue did not help either. Just like every other failed adaptation, they forgot what made the series famous.
SHPIKE SHPIEGAL
The lead actor himself said it was terrible, OP.
No shit, he was miscast as Spike.
Don't think so, because the anime is just artsy nonsense. The best episode is a parody of Alien
I will admit...they got close with Spike's suit, It looks nice.
SPIKE!!!

it's kinda like wonder woman 1984, in that no one seemed to understand the tone it was going for.
Thats nutbags!
she has nice breasts, it's crazy she didn't go topless in her role, it would have saved this show
