Their marketing cost for this film must also be insane. On top of just standard trailer ads, I've seen two promos for it that were basically 5 minute long skits with Goose, including a whole stunt driving one with a super expensive car.

I saw this by accident (twas the secret movie in the cinema this week) and it was fairly good, but more respectable than likable. Can't see it making much money, it's far too niche.

That's a very good comparison, though with a focus on stuntmen instead of writers. If you told me that Shane Black did an uncredited rewrite, I'd believe you no question.
That and Tropic Thunder
Tropic Thunder was pure comedy. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was action romantic comedy. I don't think it's quite as clean a match with Fall Guy.

It's the budget and stewaming that is the issue, a film like this should not have a 130 mil, the wider public is now going to theatres for only those releases that necessitate cinematic experience, run of the mill movies like fall guy is primed for streaming and not much else, the budget should have been planned accordingly
