Not only that, but making a single Addams the focus of a show and turning the rest of the family into supporting characters is pants-on-head stupid. It shows that the people behind the Netflix show had no interest in understanding what makes the Addams Family work. They just went online, saw how popular the Addams Family Values version of Wednesday is and built the show on that basis.

That it is, really I'm usually pro-yuri shit. But god something about enid x wednesday makes me weirdly pissed. You aren't wrong though as really any of them wouldn't have worked as well it's called the ADDAMS FAMILY. Focusing on one is foolish as series like that are made to work off all the other characters. They are more of a episodic series with how the family reacts to each other and how others react to their weirdness but kind nature.

Yeah, really overall the show was fairly juvenile. I find shows that are meant for adults or teens now somehow have less stakes and coherent writing than shows made for kids in the past. Like these shows are supposed to have deep and overarching mysteries and somehow shows like mystery incorporated and gravity falls did it better while being Y7.

I feel she could potentially work in a cartoon, but her purpose would be to be someone that creeped out by the addams family. But she keeps coming back because she's Wednesday's friend.

I mean in the end of the day my point is she doesn't work in the show all that well. As to add her is to fundamentally change the show. Both of your examples are quite out of Addams family and in it's own way ruin what wednesday is. The addams are mostly human(lore wise it's unknown but they are more vaguely inhuman) So adding a visually acceptable oddity doesn't work unlike in the Munsters. I think just brainstorming maybe make her one of the "cousins" they tend to have that are monsters. Or have the joke be she's a nice girl but is visibly creepier than wednesday. Like imagine a joke oh she's so cute and sweet then your sleeping at the addam's house and you see her walking down the hall and her eyes have that animalistic reflection.

A few weeks ago I was in Forbidden Planet Dublin when a group of teenagers popped in, in cosplay, heaven knows why. The two girls were dressed as Enid and Sinclair. I suppose that was when I accepted that trying to just brush the show aside completely is like trying to skate uphill. The least disruptive way it could influence future works would be to just include new takes on the most popular of the new characters. An over-the-top cheerful girl can be just as weird (situationally dependent) as more typical Addams fare. And I'd say it's worth noting that she's not just "a werewolf," she was explicitly bad at being a werewolf, unable to change outside of a situation where Wednesday is in danger. In the setting with It and the Addams' bizarre coterie of extended family and friends, "a werewolf (she's not very good at it, poor thing, can barely even grow claws most of the time)" fits in well enough.

Start the next adaptation with wednesday playing with enid by throwing knives and just hear a thunk and then we never see her again boom kek.

Girls get tattoos of jack skellington and dress like wednesday and never actually saw addams family. It's literally the new goth equivalent of false flagging, most people just hype up new thing. Most series like Wednesday most of the elements are going to be left on the cutting room floor, because it's a adaptation that doesn't fit the OG format. That's why my whole point was to push Enid in a way that fits the more episodic, zanny, gothic/creepy style of the comic and cartoons.

I again will say I haven't heard much good about the series, at best people have said it's so bad it's good like vampires sucks type but less self aware. I think in the end of the day it'll get a S2 as it seems it may already have been recorded and be silently cancelled. Even fans of the ship and main 2 girls say they are the only two worth investing in and even then the show is fairly unlikeable like wednesday kek.

Well it's an odd thing. The two girls (and Thing, and occasional appearances by Addams like Fester) are the only thing worth investing in... but damn if they don't have a good dynamic. The post-Ricci personality of Wednesday works surprisingly well with an unflinchingly upbeat straight (wo)man.
