shut the frick up you boring memespewing thirdworlder you will never fit in here
>Just consume!
Nah, have a nice day shill.
Fricking shills can't resist bait.
rent free
>spiderverse takes risks and does something really unique
>lol let's just copy that
>Movie inspires other to take risks
>This is bad
There's a difference between "taking a risk" and "doing what the other guy did because he was successful at it because your useless executive brain believes anyone who does it will succeed".
This looks nothing like Spider-Verse, that you think so says more about you
Do you really trust the homosexual stoner behind Sausage Party and Santa Inc to make a good ninja turtles movie? I sure as frick dont.
Why are you still stuck on Santa Inc, a show thats a Sarah Silverman vehicle he barely was involved in when he helmed Invincible and The Boys?
>he barely was involved in
Different anon, but Rogan was pretty vocal about saying that the reason it failed was because it "pissed off tens of thousands of white supremacists." How involved he was or wasn't doesn't change the fact that he was pretty defensive of the reaction people had for it.
Because the post was about projects he made
There are about 300 million people in the country. Does Rogan unironically think that "white supremacists" were why the show failed? As if those guys are so plentiful to affect anything and are not just the small minority that they are in real life.
*Rogen
Get it right.
>villainpedia
LOL, LMAO
>he helmed Invincible and The Boys
>he "helmed" two series that are basically "lol what if Superman was really a dick?! xD! LMAO blaze it 420"
I do not care about Invincible and never will because it's trash. The Boys comic was good, the show is woke trash.
>The Boys comic was good, the show is woke trash.
Oh you're moronic, never mind

have a nice day shill.
So he was responsible for more garbage. That changes things how?
as if ninja turtles needs complex master storytelling.
worked for puss in boots
Was it a good experience?
Did you have some fun?
This looks nothing like Spider-Verse. They're both stylized, but in different ways. Are we just gonna call every movie that doesn't have industry standard realistic textures and lighting Spider-Verse copycats? Spider-Verse isn't being copied, it simply opened the floodgates to something that was bubbling beneath the surface for a long time.
I work in the industry, spiderverse followed by arcane radically changed a LOT of production pipelines and style demands. It's not "copying" them but I can guarantee you that the style development had both those properties on the wall in vis-dev underlined and bolded...twice. There also probably some overlap in the people working on both.
Mario made a billion without needing to look like Spider-Verse. What purpose is there to copy the style?
Do we ever actually talk about things we like here?
We sometimes discuss boobs, ass and cute men.
No, because the things we like aren't worth talking about.
You get called a shill if you do
OP here, I post this shit as a warning, not because I don't love TMNT. This shit is trash, and TMNT deserves better.
watch anime instead
ill take anything tmnt
there's probably like more alternate tmnt universes than DC has elseworlds
>there's probably like more alternate tmnt universes than DC has elseworlds
No way. I refuse to believe that.
Only if it's about fricking kids. Even Cinemaphile isn't this dogshit.
>Even Cinemaphile isn't this dogshit.
it is worse
/co/pe
I see people make this statement all the time, and all the time I have to point out that as the number of people in any given conversation increases, the odds that they all agree on any particular topic drops. It's really not a difficult concept to grasp.
Can you find 10 people who liked a niche pilot or cartoon? Easily. Now find 100. It gets a little harder. Then look at the number of unique IPs that Cinemaphile gets in a day. At some point or another, you're going to be making a thread where someone's going to see it and share their opinion that they don't like it. And that's fine. But you're taking away the wrong message. With the number of people on an anonymous image board like this, you will find in just about any given thread someone expressing dissent from the popular opinion.
I do hope that makes sense.
That's not what Cinemaphile as a whole is for anymore. This place is an outrage grooming tool used to push people towards the right by constantly portraying them as victims and feeding them things to be mad about.
Yes. But instead of saying "lets talk about what we like about this movie!" we just make a thread that says something to the effect of "He wasn't good enough for her" *Picture of main character standing next to a love interest* or *Picture of some woman in a movie*.
This way you keep the topic related to something in a movie or TV series. It becomes about concepts or characters instead of being a circlejerk. Granted it will likely turn into a circlejerk later on in the conversation but at least its somewhat earned.
I think you're looking for reddit.
I like I Can't Sleep. Too bad the threads are so rare and are filled with morons.
I like being critical and making fun of things that are terrible. So, yes.
Only if the thing you like is Paw Patrol
Yes. See the yearly Usagi Yojimbo marathon. Go make a thread about shit you like now.
Seth rogan and Splinter played by Jackie chan are also big red flags. But a shitty TMNT is not going to be the end of the world.
I mean, when tmnt threads aren't about raceswapping april and the new movie, they're pretty good.
Except when they’re pointing out the IDW book turned to shit for the millionth time
When I make a thread on something I like, people aren't usually interested 🙁
Storytime of pain weekend isn't a good time to launch but maybe try it next week.
Did you miss the 70 Lois Lane threads today?
The things I like attract schizos and morons.
Children?
Yeah
>Ed Edd n Eddy
>MLAATR
>Courage the Cowardly Dog
>Emperor's New Groove
>Teen Titans 03
The list goes no my dude. You just go to the angry threads because you are drawn to it yourself.
Blame Spider-Verse for glorifying vidya tier 3D models, cheap filters, and cost cutting FPS levels and selling them as an "aesthetic"
I hate this image so much because it simplifies why spider verse's style works so well
This is literally what they made with Wish.
These are the kind of renders that can be made tastefully like Arcane and a lot of early french shorts, or not.
When spider verse was being stylistic it looks good, the problem is faces had a very weird look to them half the time and much of the movie wasn't that stylized all things considered. They should have made each alternate universe slightly different in some way visually and made it so that each spiderman looked visually distinct with the own art style as opposed to where it's just RATM looking like pig pen, penni being anime, Lego, and udk old times spiderman
is
>sketchy and imperfect and misshapen
going to be code for "AI generated" in the future?
>It looks like shit
Opinion. Rough and imperfect can add a particular charm that sets it apart from the clean and polished looks of a Pixar or an Illmunation
t. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ussCHoQttyQ
Organic rough and imperfect like in 2D animation or stop motion is fine, disingenuously making CG look shittier on purpose is not and is a cheap copout to developing actually good looking CG aesthetics
It's like purposely lowering the frame rate for shows like Dragon Prince and some of those 3D anime to have the same framerate as the typical anime series. Anime has 12 fps due to budgetary limitations. 3D as it is shouldn't have that issue, so making the product look worse to unnecessarily go for a "style" is totally pretentious.
Is it disingenuous if it's being done on purpose though? It's like making a film in black and white today, or filming with 16mm or some other weird format. You can say it's being done for cheap art points but at the same time if it *looks* good then maybe cheap is better? I mean no-one really criticises South Park for looking cheap.
It's disingenuous as long as you're going out of your way to make the end result shittier as opposed to the shitty result being a consequence of the process itself. Filming in black and white film or regular film for film grain is okay, filming digitally and then editing the footage to look black and white or have film grain is not.
What if you’re editing stuff to make it look better? Like drawing digitally and then editing it to make it look like traditional cel animation?
Only acceptable with indies and individuals, because not having the time and money to do it properly is part of their process
That excuse only worked in the Iron Giant
Still better than AIslop.
It looks amazing, you just have bad taste
The style, designs, lighting. I don't expect much from the humor but visually it's refreshing to see actual art in animation.
>but visually it's refreshing to see actual art in animation
No one likes a pretentious nerd.
I hope you're memeing, moron, but I doubt it.
so far, this is the only real problem i have with the movie
i honestly dont even care they made another red head black.... but fat april? that crosses the line
>so far, this is the only real problem
Me too, but it's a sign of what else is to come and also seth rogen.
There's nothing wrong with the artstyle, it's actuall really good, it's the subject matter that's the problem, the ugliest possible versions of the teenage mutant ninja turtles talking like "heckin realistic" (not at all) children and the ugliest possible april o neil.
If they used the same techniques and artstyle for something good it would look fantastic.
You homosexuals have ran the RLM meme into the ground and don't even use it right
>Gave the nerd one glasses
blame spiderverse for making this shit popular you know that shit you morons ate up
>It looks like shit
Stopped reading right there. OP is a gay and probably likes Dreamworks
I really don't understand why they are small children instead of teenagers.
>sketchy and imperfect and misshapen
But enough about Aperil..
This movie unironically appeals to no one. I feel like normies aren't even gonna touch this shit too.
>Pretty fricking ugly with the mutants only being the characters most pleasing to look at
>Can't sexualize April because she's apart of the ugly miasma
>Turles are kinda cute but can't sexualize them cuz their brothers
>Can't sexualize Splinter because he looks too old
Coomerbros and sisses need not apply
It appeals to the Spider-Verse crowd and only them. They love this kind of animation anyway.
Well this movie is extremely sexless so I'm not sure on that lol.
I'd rather that than the overly safe Disney-Pixar look that makes sure everything is so round you won't get a papercut.
Just because you don't like pixar doesn't mean you have to literally defend trash.
Yuck.
I understand the idea they were going for but it looks like shit. Lot of artist have a sketchy style that looks good, the original comics were pretty rough and imperfect, but they all had a certain charm that made them work. This is just lame as shit.
This. This is just ugly with none of the charisma to boot
>we made April digustingly ugly on purpose.
Woah, cool it there guys.
Rule 34 has saved shows in the past and is the soul reason why Korra ended the way it did, telling the Rule 34 community to frick off is only going to kill it.
>"your not allowed to like thing. MEME"
Shut the frick up, you boring memespewing thirdworlder.
Someone post the Ian JQ post
>Never deleted
You gotta give the guy one thing, he sticks by his guns. No matter how lazy it makes him look.
How is it possible that someone who has ONE not even successful show from almost a decade ago on a dying network is an authority figure people look towards regarding art will always confuse me.
I still remember when this was an effective tactic from media, until Star Wars were the straw that broke the camel's back.
But yet you fricks will suck off EE&E when that's exactly what the whole wobbliness of the show was supposed to be.
EEnE is based. This is not. It's that simple.
Ed Edd & Eddy wasn't shitting on a previous incarnation by being ugly, it wasn't a legacy cartoon and had no previous aesthetic standard to uphold.
This. Dr. Katz wasn't shitting on anyting, and did it's own thing. Everything else claiming as such is simply a crutch.
I'm not feeling it. Sometimes it looks like melted crayolas or playdough. Hard to put my finger on it.
I'm tired of TMNT but Viacom won't stop pushing that same shit origin story with a different coat of paint.
This is Spiderverse's fault, low frame rate being an artistic choice was always an dogshit excuse
>Why yes generic Pixarslop is the standard for animation
Imagine having shit taste.
>defending this shit
>defending Seth Rogen
Pls go.
>but but one person!
You're not making a convincing argument, Disneytard.
Up until Santa Inc, I unironically just shrugged and wrote Rogen off as a big goofy stoner whose worst crime was being a bit of a stoner. Didn't feel one way or another about him very strongly.
How he reacted to that soured my opinion of him quickly.
You should consider killing yourself
>please be attracted to my repulsive product
no?
There's a difference between deliberately ugly and just shit.
And I honestly can't tell with this.
You are not 5 anymore.
You don't know what 5-year-olds like.
You don't know what 5-year-olds are interested in.
Not everything is designed to pander to your overweight 30-year-old ass. Some children's cartoons are just for children. Get over it.
5 year olds like LGR, My Life in Gaming and Game Sack.
5 year olds are interested in LGR, My Life in Gaming and Game Sack.
In fact people of all ages love LGR, My Life in Gaming and Game Sack.
