Because an artists body of work doesn't solely lie within official pieces? If their artwork can clearly show he's capable of what you complain he lacks. Then wouldn't you think it's not just him but the team when conceptualizing these designs in the official property?

Although I am not a fan of how he leans his costume design into that MCU "tacticool" aesthetic. I do enjoy his arts style for the most part. And for anyone who complains about his art, purely due to his sexuality. Then you should understand that he's into women as well as men. If this rendition of Emma Frost doesn't say anything, then I don't know what will.

My fricking eyes. The poor weight distribution and atrocious anatomy of the figures, the slight inconsistent lines, and lazy poses are a tell tale sign.

            >atrocious anatomy of the figures
Is it traced or is it bad anatomy? If it's traced it's following real anatomy by virtue of the fact that it's traced over something real.

              Anonymous

The bad anatomy is because it’s traced. He drew scribbles in random places atop extremely flattened, simplified bodies where he imagined musculature and shadow would appear. It’s an obvious tell-tale sign of all low skill tracers, gerads particularly early on in his career was the same.

Cap and IF have no chest or midriff. Look at the flatness of IF’s belt as well. No overhang or overlap of the lines it looks like it’s part of the fabric. Look at his hand, to the right (his left) of the fingers the perspective is all fricked up and not in a logical way, in a way that only results from trying to trace a stock image.

I like anka's twinks, and hate...well, really absolutely everything else he does.

Has nothing to do with his sexuality other than it being the reason he panders to weirdos on Twitter with fat dyke redesigns and effeminate gay bait male redesigns.

The tacticool shit isn’t nearly as prominent in his designs as the just complete and utter disregard for heteronormative, faithful designs. Notice OP chose a poorly traced with not one single redesign in it at all rather than one of the MAWS or ATSV redesigns/designs ?

      Anka is NOT gay?

For a second there I though this was fanart of the 2011 Defenders, you know since Namor, Iron Fist, and Nick Fury are all in this shot. Then I realized that Captain America is also here and I'm an idiot.
So Kris Anka... I've never heard of them before. Can someone give me a rundown on who they are and why they're disliked?

      Anonymous

Anka is a comic book artist whose known for his work on X-Men, Star-Lord, Captain Marvel, and Runaways. His most recent work was outside of the comic book industry as lead character designer in Across the Spider-Verse. He's generally not liked around here for his character designs, while I agree that he leans a bit to heavy in the tacticool look for his costume design. I don't mind his work overall. There are also those that don't like how he illustrates women with a good amount of them as being drawn as very heavyset and broad. While the men can come off as somewhat flamboyant. That and knowing this platform, plenty around here aren't too fond of him due to his bisexuality.

Anka was popular with the Project Rooftop crowd, a blog that did (bad) redesigns of superheroes. He got hired by Marvel to be an artist and also for a while during the latter half of the 2010s was pretty much the go to character designer for the company. He's more or less directly responsible for the proliferation of cosplayish practicool outfits everybody was sporting.

Why does it look like Namor is somehow both BEHIND and IN FRONT of Iron Fist at the same time?

Because Iron Fist's chin/neck look more like Namor's arm since there's no shading or anything to separate them.
