Yeah just rewatched both seasons recently it's still as good as I remember and the final battle between Exia and the 0 Gundam is one of the best final showdowns in Gundam history with that said the movie SUCKED DICK
Then it's still an inaccurate phrase, for viewing it in a different lens or in relation to other comparative shows is entirely dependent on the viewer, and also not fair to the media itself. Shows should be judged for what they have, not what they lack.
I never got the hate for S2, it's honestly not that bad at all.
The complaints I see about it seem pretty minor.
Plus the ending is so good it just overwrites any issues that would've been there.
That 0 vs Exia battle, sheesh. That's easily one of the best climaxes I've seen to an anime period.
It was mediocre when S1 had so much good set up. For me personally, I just couldn’t really like the CB team much outside of Setsuna and Tieria because they just got so little development and although it was still good, the hate it gets is because it wasn’t as good as S1. I don’t think anyone says it’s outright bad cause even at it’s worst, it still had things that make it good. The entire shit with Anew is shit and most people hate it but when you’re actually watching the show, Lockon’s performance almost makes you forget that she was a character we barely knew. It stumbled a bit but ultimately, it was still good, just not as good as people expected.
S2 is just a bland Zeta retread. All the interesting geopolitics of S1 and the War on Terror parallels were dropped for the not!Titans and the not! Cyber Newtypes. Not to mention copying Katz and Sarah but even worse.
While I think it's not as good as S1, the only thing I'd say is out and out bad is mass producing Brings Stabity. I guess there's something there about fricking Ribbons treating even other innovades as disposable, but it both looks incredibly silly and seems like a hugely inefficient use of resources.
it's the last good AU and possibly last good piece of gundam media

I agree with you but the final battle was kino.
It's fine, I just wish the ELS is more Kaiju-like.
Just finished S1 today myself and holy shit, what a wild ride. Episode 25 and the 10~ or so other episodes leading up to it was just pure hype.
>it holds up
moronic phrase, media does not age
Finally, someone who gets it. Media remains encapsulated at the moment of its release. It's a snapshot of its time, so there's nothing to "hold up".
The show doesn't change. The context for the person viewing it does. This is not complicated.

Well yeah they had to exert more effort for 00 to save face from that blunder known as SEED Destiny
I really liked Season 1 but Season 2 didn't really impress me too much, although the ending was great.
>season 1
yes
>season 2
no
>Trailblazer
also no
Lockdon is that simpsons meme where Moe throws Barney out of the bar and the next frame barney is back behind Moe again

Flag still one of my top grunt MS, it’s whole development line is great. The one good thing of trail blazer was the penultimate version as the Brave.
