It was good.
Dragged a bit in some places, supporting cast doesn't develop much. Has rough edges that are a obvious mark of a directorial debut film
However it's still a great debut film that has a clear vision. The action was brutal, the whole movie was visually rich and had real flair to it.

I liked it, but I couldn't hear like half the dialogue. Also, too much zoom.
The dialogue was hard to hear, and I feel like the production team knew that. There's subs in some spots to patch it up, but they didn't cover every spot where it was rough to understand.

It was violent in a hyperactive way, but the violence was fun. I liked it. Glad it got put into theaters. Patel's direction curbstomps other actor-turned-director movies. The fight scene with the freakishly tall guy was pure anime and the final fight with the police chief was straight out of Enter the Dragon.

Just got back, agree largely with OP.
The first full trailer is a work of art, one of my favorite trailers I've ever seen. The movie can't match that energy and really only feels crazy during the finale. I was surprised by much of its slower, contemplative tone. It reminded me at times of Malick and Refn beyond the more obvious influences of things like the raid movies, John wick, and even unironically Dark Knight rises.
