my only issue with BB is the strange pacing (although i haven't seen it in a while). I felt like either the show had things happening/characters changing, or it was 5 episodes of back and forth filler.
I've got no problems with slow shows, but usually slow shows constantly move forward through dialogue, which then leads to something.
    BB felt like SoA
    >we have to cook
    >we don't have to cook
    >actually we do
    >nevermind we don't
    >oh yeah, no we do need to cook
    >*spends an entire season to show how Walts actions affect people around him, but it doesn't really lead anywhere either, just shows that Walt is becoming more Heisenberg, except the show could've done this much smoother*
maybe I just got filtered (just like Mexico)

I agree in the sense that based on a single episode you cannot tell where in the season it is. A super intense episode could be in episode 3, while a mellow episode as the finale.

      Anonymous

I agree. The filler material was usually good, but they should have dispersed it throughout the "eventful episodes" and just made fewer but possibly a bit longer episodes.

peekaboo gave a shit ton of insight into his character. It amplified the fact that he was a solid person and family oriented, but flawed with his drug habits. Along with the fact that it gave him the confidence and cred to be a street boss, even if that went south when he got overconfident. Peekaboo is a great overall episode. Not one of the best, but a very solid one.

Absolutely. That was a great episode to showcase the fact he was a solid guy at his core. The original plan was for him to die around season 2 or so, and this type of episode makes him a tragic character.

I never really felt this with BB. I feel like every episode added something, even if it's something small in some episodes. Plus with the going back and forth on the cooking, I feel like that really highlights the inner battle Walt is having with himself about what he's doing before just finally accepting it, which is really when shit starts to go down.

First 4 seasons are quite good. Season 5 sucks. BCS fell into a similar trap. Gilligan just doesn’t know how to close out a show tbh. He tries to jam so much information into a short period of time, then conveniently wrap up the story with a nice little bow. It’s very jarring to watch and makes everything feel rushed. If he was more comfortable with leaving some stuff off the table, the shows would benefit a lot from it.

Whenever people say 5th sucks it always includes trunk m60 spray as some kind of smoking gun of bad writing. When it just an underwhelming cope-out. It makes no difference how jack's gang died, I'd prefer it to be chemistry but what can you do.

I agree with some of this. I feel like both BB and BCS jumped the shark in their last season. Like the whole "drive a giant magnet to the police station lol we won't get caught" was really bad then and it's only worse on subsequent rewatches.

No, she cheated on him because of a mountain of lies and obvious criminal elements with a man she thought was upstanding but who was also a criminal and nothing she asked of Walt before that point was even slightly unreasonable if you don't have the mentality of a 14 year old boy who's rooting for what they think is a Scarface allegory but is, in actuality, closer to an autistic Mr. Magoo. Are you fricking moronic? I told you to go rewatch it. She got a conformation that he is drug dealer, she rightfully filed for divorce but instead of moving out he practically blackmailed her into letting him stay because Skyler explaining that her husband is cooking meth would have been an annihilation of thier family unit and career suicide for Hank. Walt knew that and dared her to do anything to get him out of the house because legally she couldn'tdo anything. So out of spite she fricked Ted specifically to hurt Walt and make him regret ever staying in house. Even Walt got that. Why are you acting like infidelity is somehow worse than anything else that happened in the show? What's with the projection? Who hurt you?

She asks him to move out at the end of season 2 and tells him straight to his face that she knows he is a drug dealer in the first epsiode of season 3, practically the next time they talk. So if you had any brain cells you probably would have already figured out that she pieced it together while he was in surgery.

I fricking told why she did it. Walter literally started this power standing shit when he moved back and told her to deal with it.

It's a strange show to me. As a gamer and back then anime fan I enjoyed the show for its comic book like characters. But usually these kind of shows are watch once and forget about it because if you think too hard you notice all the plot holes and cringe at how goofy, shallow and pandering everything is. The Boys is a good example of this. But BB I keep rewatching the scenes on youtube and I'm just in awe of the acting, cinematography, pacing and score. Everyone did such a good job.

BB is good, but BCS is better. BB's biggest issue was that the story felt samey, if that makes sense. A lot of different shit happened in it, but it all gave you the same emotions, so after a while it can get boring.

BCS however had everything good BB had, but the storyline felt more fluid and changing. For example, in BB all tension felt the same (to me), but BCS had different ones, like the tension in the chicanery scene and the tension in Nacho's last scene were completely different.
