>Show matches white woman with black man >Every single viewer imagines her fricking the ghoul
This is the way things will be for the next ten years. I'm pretty comfortable with it.
how did the leftover maclean learn his elite hacking skills?
wouldn't something like an overseer's terminal usually have a high hacking requirement in the games?
also, using the hacking minigame from the game is cringe as frick
>Also generally overseer terminals dont have high requirements to hack in the games
depends if they're part of the main plot or not
nothing in that path has very high requirements because the devs don't want you getting stuck
Speaking as a non fan, regardless of the fidelity to the games I thought it was just bad and moronic. Aside from the writing and characters being dumb the filmmaking was so shoddy it felt like a polished workprint.
I feel like I'm going fricking crazy watching this with friends. The tone is so far from the games and the characters and their plights are so shitty and boring I just can't enjoy it. The shitty slow motion with happy music playing has been done to death every single episode and all of the comedy sucks shit. I hate this awful show but everyone I know and don't know thinks it's good regardless of if they've played the games and I feel like I'm going insane.
It's good because the main character is a cutie with anime girl eyes. I want to pluck one of them out and frick the socket while she cries and looks around panicked with the other one. I imagine the muscles that used to make her eyeball move would feel interesting on my wiener.
>The shitty slow motion with happy music playing has been done to death every single episode
i fricking hated it
somebody needs to tell whoever did the score or whoever directed them that less is more
It's not. If anything, it's way too close to the games. Just not the part where you frick a head of a crime family's wife AND daughter, and get them both pregnant. Or being a mutant's gimp for the night after losing an arm-wrestling match.
All of the characters speak and interact nothing like the games. For a post apocalyptic society, everyone talks like they are in 2024 and are just hanging out in a 50's theme park. Having not one but two moments where a guy in power armor is running going "Frick frick frick frick" comedically felt like they were trying to capture a Fallout 76 server interaction rather than a genuine apocalyptic character. The previously mentioned slow motion with happy music while something horribly violent is happening is also not in line with the games. The games have brutal violence played slapstick, sure, but it's totally different than the shit the show pulls.
Also, this shit just doesn't look like Fallout. This is supposed to be near New Vegas and instead it looks like an Australian Mad Max set.
>For a post apocalyptic society, everyone talks like they are in 2024
Yeah, that one bothered me too. The comedy and dialogue were way too current year. I think modern writers just don't know how to write dialogue any other way anymore.
Bruh unless you invent a whole ass lingo a la The Clockwork Orange you'll always have modern vernacular in sci-fi/post-apo etc. In the games only certain subcultures like The Kings or the casino owners speak like it's the 50s. It's not the 50s and it's not even the 50s when the bombs fall. Frick are you complaining about?
This. It's a Bethesda Fallout coat of paint slapped on a super generic plot with shitty reddit tier humour to boot. I think most people only enjoy it because it's a MCU tier "I recognise the thing! That's the Brotherhood! That's power armour! That's a vault dweller! I clapped because I recognised the thing" slop. The kind of people who like ready player one because le ebin 80s references. And that's without getting into how slow it is or generally shitty, e.g the enclave guy not getting hit once by the turret, Maximus being a moron, etc.
>The tone is so far from the games
I thought it was fairly close, one of the areas where the show was most successful imo, focus on moral dilemmas, waring factions, horrific inhumane violence mixed with gee golly aw shucks 50s tone, etc. >the characters and their plights are so shitty and boring I just can't enjoy it.
Sounds like a you problem, I thought they were mostly fine, serviceable. Maximillian was the most boring, but I thought Lucy and Walton Goggins were fine. Lucy worked well as a fish out of water character. >slow motion with happy music playing has been done to death every single episode and all of the comedy sucks shit.
Yeah, those were the worse parts. That and the Walton Goggins flashbacks to pre-nuke time. Even though they ended up paying off, I thought there were too many of them and wish the show had kept more focused on the Wasteland.
It was ok, good choice of actors for the ghoul, the vault dweller and the brother, everyone else sucked. It seems like they filmed in the outside from time to time which is shocking for a sci-fi TV show n current year.
The ending was pretty bad though I have no fricking clue of what were they trying to achieve, power some 200 year old lights in a dead city that should be pulverised after the blast?
From the start the part that doesn't work is Moldova or whatever. In the first episode everything makes sense except the moronic plan to steal the dad.
As it goes on it gets better until the last 2-3 episodes. The Moldova plot comes to the front and it makes no sense, has no point, gives us nothing interesting to think about. >muh Black
Fits the role of a the character which is basically a feral child. It's a metaphor for Blacks in general. >muh woman
Best stronk woman since like 1983.
Anything with a scene like this is pure shit. And it was shit even without it, the moment the nukes fell: it must be le fire while the head of the mushroom cloud somehow manages to hide in the view was pure nonsense already. I could go on.
Half the scenes are good, half are so poorly written I can't believe they were written by the same people. The Brotherhood don't act like the Brotherhood, the rewriting of canon to make Nr. House nd the others gung-ho about the apocalypse was fricking stupid, how do you "win" capitalism if everyone is dead? Also the fricking BALLS on Todd to nuke the NCR and then kill them again at the end is just ridiculous, and the tease for a season 2 showing Vegas was just disgusting. Todd can't help himself, shoving the faces of fans of NV into his slop and declaring it canon
Loses points for MCs being women, a israelite, a white cuck, and a Black person and every faction being led by a woman (except the Brotherhood, but they had a troony so that takes that away.
It seems that they tried, but also couldn't help themselves. Only redeeming part is The Ghoul.

The common thread in all meathead criticism like this is media illiteracy. You want more explosions and less exploration of the human condition. They should have filmed this in French for a more sophisticated audience.
They also seem to forget that New Vegas was the real anomaly and 1 and 2 were kind of cringe with their gloomy soundtracks, while you're doing a quest to blow up an outhouse to get a guy named Cornelius' gold watch, and cover the town in shit.
>You want more explosions and less exploration of the human condition.
HAHAHAHAHAHA, you stupid Black person, you don't know what I prefer, but immediately, you dive into assumptions because you aren't able to defend scenes where meaningful writing is not even required.

Did you watch a youtuber's review instead of actually watching the show? That's the only explanation I can think of for the amount of inaccuracies in your post.

Nowhere did I say I wanted more explosions, the shit at the end was stupid enough to not warrant any discussion I felt, but since you're a moronic Black person, I'll spell it out: ・the plot that infinite energy is impossible to monetize is stupid and not real
・Thr Brotherhood fought and lost a war against the NCR, so...
・Why does the Brotherhood have a surface presence in the old NCR territory
・Why does the Brotherhood have a surface presence at all? They are quote opposed to radiation and mutants
・Why are the Brotherhood able to fight an offensive war when their numbers were already dwindling before the NCR war?
・Why did that Elder say the Brotherhood "ruled the wasteland" when this is categoric untrue? They were NEVER ruling force in the wasteland, they viewed the wasteland with contempt
・Why do the Enclave still exist? Their hierarchy has been killed off multiple times if we pretend Fo3 is canon
・America MAY have dropped the bomb first, but it certainly didn't come from an American corporation
・In what way would the US government nuke themselves into oblivion to help corporations """win""" capitalism? What do they have to gain?
・etc.
I'm setting aside the countless stupid inconsistencies and nitpicks and just focusing on the truly stupid parts, but I can go into more detail if you think I watched even a single e-celeb to get my opinion rather than played the fricking games and watched the series and got my own opinions that way.
That is the worst defense you could had used.
That other anon is right but even if you try to ignore the lore rape the show is bad on its own accord. The idea that a corporation would destroy the entire world economy for profit is incredibly moronic not to mention that the China - US war is mentioned as little as possible with episode 7 giving us this gem:
>communist is just a dirty word they use to describe people who aren't insane
There is so much wrong here it would take me a while to unpack it but applying Occam's razor (also an item in FO3, I actually played the games fricko) I am betting that Amazon is bending the knee to China, so commies are good, corporate America is le bad.
Vault Tec is essentially the same as Vought in the Boys.
And all of that is rich coming from Amazon, the frickers known to not even let their employees take a piss.
Also do not pretend you are a fan of anything but Fo4.
You think a corporation destroying the entire world economy is out of the question, but the remnants of the US governenment wanting to wipe out every single human being on earth isn't? (Fallout 2 enclave)

There’s a precedent for authoritarian organisations to try and genocide those deemed impure who would not fit into their society
There’s no real precedent for a corporation to destroy the economy to “profit”. If there is no economy then you don’t have profit.

>The idea that a corporation would destroy the entire world economy for profit is incredibly moronic
From a plot standpoint, yes it is. >I am betting that Amazon is bending the knee to China, so commies are good, corporate America is le bad.
From a sub-textual standpoint, corporate America is le bad. >And all of that is rich coming from Amazon, the frickers known to not even let their employees take a piss.
See, even you are agreeing.
>how does the economy work when any metalworker can print fake bottlecaps?
We like caps because of symbolism and stuff not because it's a realistic economic system. Did you watch a show about military logistics?
The last few episodes are shit but having the conversation about striking first doesn't mean you did. American uncles and dads really had these conversations. That's the interesting part it's just poorly executed.
Who are you quoting? The games already explained why they used bottlecaps on the west coast (with no explanation of why the east coast uses them) and it's because the loss of the gold reserves (something that could have been EXTREMELY easy to mention in a show about the NCR and Brotherhood)
>how does the economy work when any metalworker can print fake bottlecaps?

Why is one of the protagonist from the PS2 video game Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel a Black dude? Good thing this PS2 title is no longer Canon to the Fallout universe. It also has a woman and probably a White guy(IDK, never played the game, only played a Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance game) who became a ghoul.
It was boring and pointless to watch if you have played the games.
It was also overly gorey and the sexual aspects were made by a machine going down a checklist with no understanding.
There isn't a single moral white male.
Only worthwhile part is watching California blown up.
>It was boring and pointless to watch if you have played the games.
Agreed that the Fallout world works best as a game, but it's a nice way to revisit it without putting in 30 hours of gameplay. >It was also overly gorey
The games are pretty gory, that's one of their draws I would say, so I found it appropriate. >There isn't a single moral white male.
You could argue Norm, he's supposed to be white since he's supposed to be Kyle Maclachlan's son, even though he's played by a Columbian, he doesn't look too tan in the show, so he could pass as white.
I watched from the final episode back and I was taken aback from the amount of shills saying it was good like Critical Drinker and Moist Critikal who have some reputation but it only tells me most people watch shows mostly looking at their phones or most people did not make it past the pilot which had the worst pacing.
Episodes 2 through 5 are salvageable.
6 to 8 are utter shit with episode 7 saving grace being Thaddeus.
8 is fricking shit.
The shows sucks but I have the sensation the writing staff had in them executives from Amazon and Bethesda tripping them every opportunity. Bethesda stupid poorly thought out writing and Amazon forcing their agenda inside every show is noticeable in the episodes most people are likely to watch, reason I have the theory they left the first go by without intervention reason why those were fine. It could had been a fun show if they had set it elsewhere like Oregon or Wyoming around the time of FO2 or FO3 as a road trip show like Zombieland trying to not upset the actual lore.
That said it seems the show was mostly forgotten by now.
I feel like the vast history of dogshit video game movie adaptations has lowered the bar to the point where "okay" is an A+ grade. For example:
>sonic live action trailer releases with the ugliest rendition of sonic imaginable, gives everyone the impression that it's going to be terrible >sonic model is fixed, movie releases and it's mid >"OH MY GOD THE SONIC MOVIE... WASN'T TERRIBLE?! EVERYONE, EVERYONE! THE SONIC MOVIE WASN'T TERRIBLE! THAT MEANS IT'S GOOD!!"
Same thing with the Mario movie. Trailer released and everyone thought Chris Pratt was horribly miscast and now the main character of the movie sounds flat and uninterested. Movie releases, and it's totally mediocre —but it wasn't awful, so that means it's good right? People wouldn't give a shit about this Fallout show if it weren't based on a popular video game (obviously), but they also wouldn't be recommending such a lukewarm show just because it wasn't atrociously bad. As it turns out, that's actually most tv shows and movies. I'd be more interested in watching and discussing if it WAS the worst adaptation possible.
The funny thing is that MK the 90s movies was without any violence and everyone likes it.
Prince of Persia was a decent film.
Assassin's Creed was hard to watch in that the photography was so fricking terrible with too many unnecessary filters but it was much better than the games.
We are back to game adaptations that are mostly unrelated to the source material.
The 2020 MK movie had like 30 minutes of actual MK stuff and the rest was Dragon Ball Evolution.
The Sonic movies are just about the same as the Smurf movies.
Fallout is just about terrible.
What can I tell you about Mario.
It is a straight advertisement for Nintendo and Universal Studios Orlando.
It is good for kids and manchildren watching this stuff alone should neck themselves. You are over 30 watching a fricking toy ad...willingly.
Fallout is Rick and Morty. Hyper Violent, Gross, Childish and sometimes it takes itself seriously. It is really for moronic people.
NOOOOO NOOOOO YOU CAN'T SAY IT'S JUST OKAY. IT'S DOGSHIT. IT'S THE WORST FRICKING DOGSHIT EVER MADE AND THE WORSTEST VIDEOGAME ADAPTATION OF ALL TIME. I KNOW BECAUSE I WATCHED LONGMAN ON THE YOUTUBE DISECT IT AND TELL ME WHAT TO THINK ABOUT IT. YOU ARE SO STUPID IF YOU THINK THIS SHOW IS OKAY.
>YOU ARE SO STUPID IF YOU THINK THIS SHOW IS OKAY.
Yes, yes you are.
You are stupid Black person gorilla piece of shit mouth breather siding with ecelbs and pseuds because you too like hyper violence and sub 80 IQ arguments. You are essentially watching Rick and Morty...AGAIN.
>NOOO, YOU CANT JUST CALL VANHELSING SHITTY AND GAY, ITS GOT BING BING WAHOO WOLVERINE AND KATE BEKINSALE
its shitty and gay
and so is Fallout, 60 minutes of walton goggins bacon does not make a 9 hour shit sandwhich edible
What? No. It's a drug that staves off a ghoul becoming feral. That part is definitely new to the lore. Ghouls are just a product of humans being exposed to radiation.
it doesn't work like that
being irradiated near a nuclear blast can slowly turn you into a ghoul but drinking irradiated water or some direct injection would just kill you
ghoulification changes game by game
it went from atmospheric FEV + tiny specific radiation level, to just specific exposure range of radiation to what ever dumbfricking moronic bullshit it is in Fallout 4 and 76 they hid in some shitty terminal nobody read
the idea that theres any "canon" in Fallout is bullshit considering bethesda goes out of its way to make anything established superfluous
>If the writers aren’t moronic he was injected with a FEV and has begun turning into a super mutant
that was my first guess but when he later says "i'm a ghoul" i figured was the writers spoon feeding the audience
guess it could be a redirect for season 2
If they’ve turned ghouls into self regenerating can only be killed by headshots über men I’m dropping the show.
But Thaddeus, Anime eyes and Brotha of Steal guy saying he’s a ghoul doesn’t 100 % mean he’s a ghoul. They’re morons they prob don’t even know what the FEV is
I was talking about Thaddeus getting the FEV when healing his foot and turning into a super mutant.
Cooper Howard was kept in a grave and had a IV bag of don’t turn feral drugs. They prob kept him in that state and only dug him up when they needed him to colllect a bounty
What? No. It's a drug that staves off a ghoul becoming feral. That part is definitely new to the lore. Ghouls are just a product of humans being exposed to radiation.
i meant whatever it was the squire takes and turns him into a ghoul
No, that part is new, too. I think. "Instant Ghoul, Just Add Radiation" isn't coming to me, but I haven't played 3 or 4.
Radiation is what turns you into a ghoul.
It is an adaptation of the FEV
It would be lame if Taddeus was turned into a regular ghoul instead of a mutant.
Maximus is an inconsistent character >I will do anything to be part of BOS >I will pile shit if I had to
First day on the job lets a knight die because he was mean to him.... and just stands there during whole bear thing.
Then he is an butthole to another squire just like the Knight was to him.
Afterwards forgets entirely why he wanted to be in BOS over some display of comfort.
You can tell every episode had a different writer. I do not hate the character or the actor because the actor tries but the writers make a world of difference.
You being filtered is not a criticism. "Disillusionment" was a pretty fricking big theme in the show, and obvious to anyone who has two braincells to rub together.
to be "filtered" by a show, it needs some level of intellect
this is bottom of the barrel braindead dogshit

oh ok
that anon is pointing out how stupid the writing in this show is and your argument is essentially "2deep4you"
>A character figuring out what he wants
He was in the Bos cleaning up latrines for years as a child and was seething over the idea of Dane moving up over him and when he finally gets the chance he fails his one duty with malicious intent, then he is just as cruel to a fellow squire, sure one that bullied him but nonetheless that is no heroic in the slightest.
Afterwards abandons all his ideals over commodities he acquired in one day. He wanted to be in BOS to make a difference but oysters and caviar is all it takes for him to abandon a dream he held for years. Either it is bad writing or the character is intentionally villainous but knowing Amazon, much like A-Train in the Boys, they won't allow a Black character to be evil even if the story demonstrates it. Maximum essentially assisting in the death of a knight and A-train pulverizing innocent bystanders.
>It is a grey character
No, because the story tries to portray him as an heroic character and a rookie plenty of times, it is inconsistent. The same episode had him goofing around with the suit and acted as a pretend superhero...after literally letting someone die.
That is another thing, the tone of the show vacillates between edgy man-child humor but also tries to be serious with the worst political themes I have seen.
In other words, you are a cretin way over his head.

Did you even watch the show or are you defending the stances of ecelebrities?

disillusionment was the theme m8
maximus got disillusioned with the brotherhood 15 minutes into his first mission but then decided to leapfrog his way up the chain of that organization and complete his mission
then he ate some oysters and was disillusioned again... until he needed the power armor again to white knight his waifu
>Then he is an butthole to another squire just like the Knight was to him. >Anon can't cope with a basic "power corrupts" theme
The absolute state of this board
Also notice how you conveniently ignored that this same squire was the one who kicked and harassed him when he was back at the brotherhood and he stopped as soon as he heard the justification/sob story from the squire?
is slicing up your foot to the point of having a permanent limp the injury choice for getting out of a mission? or do trannies just default to life altering body modifications?
think i'd maybe try spraining my ankle or dislocating my shoulder or something first
Only good scenes involved zooming in on the monkeys face while he did that weird grinning thing. Especially when he threatened to kill the white squire.
Why are we still trying to shill tis has been show?
Every 2-3 months there is a run of the mill streamslop show that MUST BE SUCCESFULL and then it vanishes like all the others, after being rabidly shilled and defended.
Who fricking cares. Stop being annoying
It was trash
This show is a near perfect example of how literal bots can change opinion of goy cattle
The buzz around this show was obviously extremely artificial to any autist with a slight bit of pattern recognition
Textbook astroturfing
I was considering listing all the issues but I’m tired so it just being a israelites wet dream world immediately should make you hate this show if you’re a real human being with soul
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more mutt brown cast of characters ever in my life
Just watched the first episode last night. Directing seems average at best. A jarring example is how in the vault it will cut from a scene with characters talking and music playing to showing us an empty hallway for some reason, and then immediately cut to Maximus in the desert who is an as of yet unrelated character.
I hate that nobody emotes until the last fifteen minutes of the finale, in a scene that goes on too long with slow-mo closeups
It's as if the show itself is filling time waiting for Lucy to squeeze out a tear, awkward as frick
>Videogamers: "Hollywood is dying! Videogames make soooo much more money!" >Microsoft X-Box executive: "We closed 4 studios because they were losing money, but the Fallout TV show has been a huge hit!"
Gamers btfo yet again.
>We are discussing one in this thread
It was boring shit. Cinemaphile standards are just so fricking low right now that anything is put into the "must watch" category.
i've always wanted to see a version of planescape brought the tv/film but i now think they would hyper focus on and exaggerate stupid things
like every character would have thick wienerney accents and they would do an episode in metatron's cube
I don’t get why they included it. Maximus was the only one that would be promoted to her spot so it was clearly him. He puts razor blades in his only friends shoes so he can get promoted, let’s the brotherhood knight die and steals his armour, lies to Lucy about who he is. The ghoul is the superior love interest for Lucy, but Amazon doesn’t have the balls to give the people what they want.
Maximus is a total piece of shit and no amount of cope about growing character motivations can change that (notice that word: GROWTH, implying he becomes BETTER over time.)
Lets unpack his character shall we? He starts off as a miserable outcast, literally shovelling shit while everyone else enjoys themselves. He dreams of something better, becoming a true knight of the brotherhood. But he can't, because he's shovelling shit. Very basic heroes journey stuff here, Luke Skywalker is a textbook example, if not as crude. Anyway, he then gets his opportunity when his friend cuts xhems foot off and he immediately gets made a squire for whatever reason. So far not so bad.
He then becomes a squire, only to find out that he still gets treated like shit. He literally polishes the knights codpiece. Not very subtle, but oh well. The illusions are shattered. Power corrupts, noble people are actually dicks, etc. etc. Cliche writing, but effective.
And then his knight gets crippled by a bear. Here's where things take a dive off the cliff at mach 1. The bear slaps the knight around and somehow cripples him, while maximus stands around like a fricking moron with his mouth open like he just got a fricking lobotomy and doesn't understand what he's seeing. AND THEN HE KILLS THE BEAR WITH A SINGLE PISTOL SHOT WHICH HE COULD HAVE DONE AT ANY FRICKING TIME. He fricking stands around watching his knight get slapped and does fricking nothing. The knight was a dick but that doesn't justify letting the guy die. And then when he kills the bear he refuses to save the knight and instead waits for him to die so he can steal the armour and pretend he's an actual knight. He doesn't deserve that power armour. He's done fricking nothing to earn it, he's a fricking thief who thinks only in gibsmedat and enjoys it.
AND THEN WHEN HE GETS SENT ANOTHER SQUIRE INSTEAD OF ACTING SYMPATHETIC AND TREATING HIM BETTER HE DOES THE SAME THING HIS KNIGHT DID TO HIM, RETROACTIVELY JUSTIFYING SAID DICKISH BEHAVIOUR AND MAKING HIM SEEM LIKE AN EVER BIGGER PIECE OF SHIT FOR LETTING THE ACTUAL KNIGHT DIE. IF HE WAS IN THE SAME SITUATION HIS SQUIRE WOULD BE TOTALLY JUSTIFIED IN LEAVING HIM TO DIE TOO, ONLY HE DOESN'T, BECAUSE THE FRICKING SIDE CHARACTER IS MORE MORALLY UPRIGHT THAN THE ACTUAL PROTAGONIST THE AUDIENCE IS SUPPOSED TO BE SYMPATHETIC TOO.
HE'S A FRICKING COWARD, A THIEF, AND A MURDERER BY NEGLECT AND HE FRICKING GETS AWAY WITH IT. HE HAS NO REDEEMING QUALITIES. NOT ONE. HE IS NOT BRAVE, HE WILL NOT SACRIFICE HIMSELF FOR SOMEONE, HE KNOWS FRICKING NOTHING, BECAUSE ALL HE CAN DO IS FRICK UP AND GET REWARDED FOR IT. AND HE'S WRITTEN TO BE A SYMPATHETIC CHARACTER BECAUSE THESE WRITERS ARE INCOMPETENT MORONS WHO WOULDN'T KNOW WHAT GOOD WRITING IS IF IT PUNCHED THEM IN THE FRICKING FACE. FRICK. I HATE THIS FRICKING SHOW AND FRICK ALL OF YOU WHO ENJOY IT

7 started gay but was good
8 was confusing, i've seen it four times and can't remember what heppens. do i need to watch it sober?
Kinda funny how it’s very much like Bethesda fallout games. The main plot is dull as frick and all the interesting stuff is in side quests and environmental storytelling rather than anything directly told to the audience
Given it was written by Jonathan Nolan I’d have hoped he would have a decent season long story planned. If it was half as good as season 1 of westworld then it would have been kino. But no, it was just one long fetch quest where we only learn what the object is in the last ten minutes. Nothing is explained. No meaningful character interactions come from the head or the father reveal.
All the best interactions were just from characters interacting with conflicting goals. Maximus was a schizo weirdo with negative charisma, his most interesting moments to me were when he hung out with his new squire who used to beat him up, he clearly contemplates just killing him since he’s been power tripping with his power armor since he got it. He tells his squire to tell him something negative about himself, why? Just to justify to himself why he should bully him. Yet he isn’t the generic butthole bully we would assume. He’s just another guy.
Then like a dumbass Maximus chooses to reveal the truth in the stupidest way possible. Instead of getting into a more subdued situation where he can talk things out, he fails to explain he didn’t kill his knight, which is fair to assume since he’s been pretending to be him for some reason. And IMMEDIATELY goes to kill this dude, zero remorse. He should be grateful the dude just took his power core out and didn’t shoot him in the head afterwards while he was trapped
Ghoul was best character but that seems to be the consensus, all of Lucy’s best scenes come from him basicslly beating common sense into her, and it’s fun to see him regain a little humanity after she saves him in spite of him selling her for organ harvesting.
I could never feel like the ghoul was a “bad guy”. He’s just a guy doing his job to survive. After 200 years living as an intelligent rotting zombie who needs to constantly kill just to survive I don’t see how anybody wouldn’t be as cynical as him. People aren’t meant to live 240 plus years regardless, let alone living them where the only way to do so is constant bounty hunting and murder to obtain something to stop you turning into a feral
They did great writing with his pre war scenes juxtaposed to present day.
I highly doubt it because it’s Amazon and 2024, but i hope they explain and expand in why Muldaver, the commies, the weird church etc are actually also buttholes. Instead of just “capitalism bad, vault tec caused the nukes to drop, not a simple war between China and USA”
I honestly hope they have the twist for the ghoul to be him THINKING vault tec dropped the bombs ever since he spied on that meeting. But it turns out they couldn’t enact their plan on time because the actual countries started launching for an unknown reason that doesn’t really fricking matter any more.
It would explain why fault tec failed to fill so many vsults on time if they supposedly planned and caused the nuclear war themselves. If they knew when it was gonna happen because THEY did it why wouldn’t they get their vault dwellers in before that? Kind of defeats the point of experiments if you fail to get the subjects
Likewise it’s kind of weird for vault tec to still have nukes 200 years later if they already used them to start the war. Wouldnt they have fired them all t ensure a response from both China and the USA?
Are we to believe vault tec just kept a few nukes spare? Or that they wasted resources building them post apocalypse?
We barely see the enclave so I can’t even have an opinion on them.
*hides thread*
Turned it off the moment she burned coal.
You didn't want to know if she would end up paying the toll?
I turned it off as soon as the troony showed up
WHO? Who was that? The ugly b***h at the beginning with a thicker unibrow than the soviet block??
Yep
From the BoS
So you haven't turned it off yet?
>Show matches white woman with black man
>Every single viewer imagines her fricking the ghoul
This is the way things will be for the next ten years. I'm pretty comfortable with it.
how did the leftover maclean learn his elite hacking skills?
wouldn't something like an overseer's terminal usually have a high hacking requirement in the games?
also, using the hacking minigame from the game is cringe as frick
You could say the same thing about using stimpacks to heal wounds. I thought it was a nice nod, those were my favorite parts of the show.
VaultTek's security stinks. Anyone can waltz out of 33 with a pipboy and they wandered into 32 and then Vault 4 Level 12
>a tv show based on a game is cringe for referencing the game
Why are you even here?
>using the hacking minigame from the game is cringe as frick
t. sub 100 IQ or "humanities guy". It's the funnest minigame
It pretty much establishes that hacking terminals is one of his elevated skills
Also generally overseer terminals dont have high requirements to hack in the games
>Also generally overseer terminals dont have high requirements to hack in the games
depends if they're part of the main plot or not
nothing in that path has very high requirements because the devs don't want you getting stuck
a scant few times I get the password correct on the first guess. maybe he has high luck
Speaking as a non fan, regardless of the fidelity to the games I thought it was just bad and moronic. Aside from the writing and characters being dumb the filmmaking was so shoddy it felt like a polished workprint.
was this guy a self-insert for the tumblr tier writer's room?
that guy literally got together with riki lindhome when she was having another man's baby
>The shitty slow motion with happy music playing has been done to death every single episode
i fricking hated it
somebody needs to tell whoever did the score or whoever directed them that less is more
>doesn't like the show
>still forcing himself to watch it
Why?
Where do you think we are
Gotta be well learned on why something is shit. Plus only 8 episodes, not a major time commitment.
>The tone is so far from the games
how so?
So I assume, at the very least, you played Fallout: New Vegas with very, VERY selective memory, yes?
>The tone is so far from the games
what
did you play any fallout game?
The ending was pretty bad though I have no fricking clue of what were they trying to achieve, power some 200 year old lights in a dead city that should be pulverised after the blast?
it was great compared to what could have been
they did not mess up the fallout game tone of nonsense gore slapstick
8.5/10 on imdb is correct
HAHAHAHAHAHA, you stupid Black person, you don't know what I prefer, but immediately, you dive into assumptions because you aren't able to defend scenes where meaningful writing is not even required.
>shitty CW-tier show
>exploration of the human condition
yes, Fallout is ToOtTalLY apacolypse now
Half the scenes are good, half are so poorly written I can't believe they were written by the same people.
Did you watch a youtuber's review instead of actually watching the show? That's the only explanation I can think of for the amount of inaccuracies in your post.
nta but i'd like you to list them
Nowhere did I say I wanted more explosions, the shit at the end was stupid enough to not warrant any discussion I felt, but since you're a moronic Black person, I'll spell it out:
・the plot that infinite energy is impossible to monetize is stupid and not real
Someone hasn't played Fallout 1 or 2, I see.
Neither have you.
It’s like shooting a rocket at a cow because you’re hungry
They tell you why they want to do it. Pay attention.
See, even you are agreeing.
>communist is just a dirty word they use to describe people who aren't insane
this isn't a defense of communism, just people being called communist
Ah, just a troll
Who are you quoting? The games already explained why they used bottlecaps on the west coast (with no explanation of why the east coast uses them) and it's because the loss of the gold reserves (something that could have been EXTREMELY easy to mention in a show about the NCR and Brotherhood)
>how does the economy work when any metalworker can print fake bottlecaps?
We like caps because of symbolism and stuff not because it's a realistic economic system. Did you watch a show about military logistics?
The last few episodes are shit but having the conversation about striking first doesn't mean you did. American uncles and dads really had these conversations. That's the interesting part it's just poorly executed.
Much better.
I guess this woman won't be in the game since the Brotherhood of Steel isn't canon.
For example:
>sonic live action trailer releases with the ugliest rendition of sonic imaginable, gives everyone the impression that it's going to be terrible
>sonic model is fixed, movie releases and it's mid
>"OH MY GOD THE SONIC MOVIE...
>NOOO, YOU CANT JUST CALL VANHELSING SHITTY AND GAY, ITS GOT BING BING WAHOO WOLVERINE AND KATE BEKINSALE
its shitty and gay
and so is Fallout, 60 minutes of walton goggins bacon does not make a 9 hour shit sandwhich edible
is there actually a drug that just turns you into a ghoul in the lore?
What?
Radiation is what turns you into a ghoul.
it doesn't work like that
being irradiated near a nuclear blast can slowly turn you into a ghoul but drinking irradiated water or some direct injection would just kill you
ghoulification changes game by game
it went from atmospheric FEV + tiny specific radiation level, to just specific exposure range of radiation to what ever dumbfricking moronic bullshit it is in Fallout 4 and 76 they hid in some shitty terminal nobody read
the idea that theres any "canon" in Fallout is bullshit considering bethesda goes out of its way to make anything established superfluous
It wasn’t changed from game to game. The devs just didn’t agree on what the cause was so they left it intentionally vague
He’s not a ghoul they don’t have magic regeneration powers.
If the writers aren’t moronic he was injected with a FEV and has begun turning into a super mutant
They’re morons they prob don’t even know what the FEV is
I think it's just this particular Ghoul that's that badass. Why was he kept in a grave and eaten, anyway?
Who Cooper Howard?
I was talking about Thaddeus getting the FEV when healing his foot and turning into a super mutant.
Cooper Howard was kept in a grave and had a IV bag of don’t turn feral drugs. They prob kept him in that state and only dug him up when they needed him to colllect a bounty
It is an adaptation of the FEV
It would be lame if Taddeus was turned into a regular ghoul instead of a mutant.
You know what? Sure. Let's go with that. FEV is a gift that just fricking keeps on giving in Fallout. New Vegas being the sole exception.
>AHHHHHH SAVE ME MAXIMUS
>I'M israeli MAXIMUS IF YOU DON'T SAVE ME YOU'LL NEVER WORK IN THE BROTHERHOOD AGAIN
Maximus is an inconsistent character
>I will do anything to be part of BOS
>I will pile shit if I had to
First day on the job lets a knight die because he was mean to him.... and just stands there during whole bear thing.
Then he is an butthole to another squire just like the Knight was to him.
Afterwards forgets entirely why he wanted to be in BOS over some display of comfort.
You can tell every episode had a different writer. I do not hate the character or the actor because the actor tries but the writers make a world of difference.
A character figuring out what he wants, and having his ideal torn apart in front of him counts as a criticism to you?
i can tell you are the same anon hand waving away any criticism in this thread with your vague nonsensical homosexualry
You being filtered is not a criticism. "Disillusionment" was a pretty fricking big theme in the show, and obvious to anyone who has two braincells to rub together.
to be "filtered" by a show, it needs some level of intellect
this is bottom of the barrel braindead dogshit
It's a bit too late to claim that it is the show that is actually stupid, when your post is already up there, for all to see.
which post is that?
This one.
oh ok
that anon is pointing out how stupid the writing in this show is and your argument is essentially "2deep4you"
>A character figuring out what he wants
>I can only characterize in black on white: the post
Imagine complaining about screenwriting after moronic thinking like this kek
>It is a grey character
No, because the story tries to portray him as an heroic character and a rookie plenty of times, it is inconsistent. The same episode had him goofing around with the suit and acted as a pretend superhero...after literally letting someone die.
That is another thing, the tone of the show vacillates between edgy man-child humor but also tries to be serious with the worst political themes I have seen.
In other words, you are a cretin way over his head.
>No, because the story tries to portray him as an heroic character
In your headcanon?
>Trying to save a bystander immediately after getting the suit
>Not heroic
>Trying to break a fight in episode 2
>Not heroic
>The scene in the bridge with the fiends
>Not heroic
>Assisting to Lucy rescue in Episode 7
>Not heroic
>Taking the fall and giving Lucy the head in the same episode
>Not heroic
>Trying to go back to Lucy in order to help her against Muldaver
>Not heroic
Did you even watch the show or are you defending the stances of ecelebrities?
Look I hate things as much as the next tv anon but I actually take my time to watch and articulate what I dislike about the show, you are being an absolute ass making shit up to cover up for bad writing.
>Nooo a character can't become gradually more heroic over time, this is le BAD WRITING
Kek
how is your hero's journey going, defending slop?
>no u
Well at least you admit you ran out of arguments
>gradually
Not really, his motivations change from writer to writer and so was the quality of the episodes.
Ultimately forgot why he wanted to be in BOS the moment he got to Vault 4.
>Hey Dane remember how badly I wanted to be a Knight
>Well I got to a place where they have food and water and soap and well frick all of that noise about being in the brotherhood
>I am going to escape with this coal burner back to her hole in the ground where I do not have to shovel shit again making my life to this point pretty much wasteful, especially my dream about helping people, especially THAT
>So good luck with everything because your foot got shredded over the post I am so happily abandoning just now
This is what happens in Episode 9 20 minutes in.
>Motovations can't change upon new experiences
Now remind me again what happens after that
disillusionment was the theme m8
maximus got disillusioned with the brotherhood 15 minutes into his first mission but then decided to leapfrog his way up the chain of that organization and complete his mission
then he ate some oysters and was disillusioned again... until he needed the power armor again to white knight his waifu
He's just low Int and evil karma
>Then he is an butthole to another squire just like the Knight was to him.
>Anon can't cope with a basic "power corrupts" theme
The absolute state of this board
Also notice how you conveniently ignored that this same squire was the one who kicked and harassed him when he was back at the brotherhood and he stopped as soon as he heard the justification/sob story from the squire?
>1 bear is enough to kill a guy in power armour but hitting the ground at 100km/h does nothing
I fricking hate this show.
that one scratch across the torso of the armor somehow damaged his internal organs
is slicing up your foot to the point of having a permanent limp the injury choice for getting out of a mission? or do trannies just default to life altering body modifications?
think i'd maybe try spraining my ankle or dislocating my shoulder or something first
lol wat? a cut heals better and faster than a chronic injury that ends sports careers
It's overhyped fricking trash that's not worth spending any amount of your life on.
I need a venue to air my grievances about this slop. Do you mind?
It was trash
This show is a near perfect example of how literal bots can change opinion of goy cattle
The buzz around this show was obviously extremely artificial to any autist with a slight bit of pattern recognition
Textbook astroturfing
I was considering listing all the issues but I’m tired so it just being a israelites wet dream world immediately should make you hate this show if you’re a real human being with soul
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more mutt brown cast of characters ever in my life
Why did everyone in vault 21 kill themselves?
Pepina a cutie!
okey-dokey
Just watched the first episode last night. Directing seems average at best. A jarring example is how in the vault it will cut from a scene with characters talking and music playing to showing us an empty hallway for some reason, and then immediately cut to Maximus in the desert who is an as of yet unrelated character.
I hate that nobody emotes until the last fifteen minutes of the finale, in a scene that goes on too long with slow-mo closeups
It's as if the show itself is filling time waiting for Lucy to squeeze out a tear, awkward as frick
>It's as if the show itself is filling time
So it's just like the Fallout 3 game?
>Videogamers: "Hollywood is dying! Videogames make soooo much more money!"
>Microsoft X-Box executive: "We closed 4 studios because they were losing money, but the Fallout TV show has been a huge hit!"
Gamers btfo yet again.
Videogame adaptations will be the new Marvel slop, and I am all for it
This will be the era of gamers
There has yet to be a single too movie or tv show based on a vidya ip.
We are discussing one in this thread
>We are discussing one in this thread
It was boring shit. Cinemaphile standards are just so fricking low right now that anything is put into the "must watch" category.
>too
*good
Seems alright but I really hate the FO4 aesthetic. It's way too clean
I wish people stopped pretending videogames are art so that they stop producing garbage like this or tlou or arcane
Video games are art within their own medium. They aren't made with movies and TV shows in mind
they used to say that about movies
and they were right
i've always wanted to see a version of planescape brought the tv/film but i now think they would hyper focus on and exaggerate stupid things
like every character would have thick wienerney accents and they would do an episode in metatron's cube
thaddeus is sexy hot
who's team chaddeus here?
So did max actually put the razor blades in the shoes?
no, it was just another case of troony self-harm
How didn't she notice them before her foot fell off?
I imagine putting your foot will instantly make you pull it out from pain
I don’t get why they included it. Maximus was the only one that would be promoted to her spot so it was clearly him. He puts razor blades in his only friends shoes so he can get promoted, let’s the brotherhood knight die and steals his armour, lies to Lucy about who he is. The ghoul is the superior love interest for Lucy, but Amazon doesn’t have the balls to give the people what they want.
you didnt watch the pile of shit all the way
the they/them cut up their own foot
1/2
your just racist
FRICK. I HATE THIS FRICKING SHOW AND FRICK ALL OF YOU WHO ENJOY IT
(Goggins is okay)
>what are you doing?
>filling up your water
maximus is such a shit squire, he didn't even know that was one of their duties
his replacement squire mogged him in every way
An excellent summary
1 was okay
2 and 3 were gay
4 was good
5 and 6 were better
7 started gay but was good
8 was confusing, i've seen it four times and can't remember what heppens. do i need to watch it sober?
Rico from Hannah Montana is going to turn into a villain isn’t he.
basically my feelings about it, it's not great but could have been way worse, I just found it to be kind of boring
So how long until GOD Howard pimps Skyrim/TES for a series too?
