it wasn't bad
if they did exactly the same thing 40 years ago and without cgi and all the pozzed propaganda, it would've easily be a top 3 indiana jones movies

The chase scenes dragged for too long
It was shit, lad.
I finally watched it the other day and half way through I wanted to gouge my eyes out. It's terrible. Indiana Jones is reduced to a sidekick for most of the film.
You can see throughout the film how Fleabag was supposed to take over the show. The clues were poking you straight in the eye. Terrible film.
>I finally watched it the other day and half way through I wanted to gouge my eyes out
filtered, the 3rd act was kino
Crystal Skull was bad, but I've rewatched it a couple of times. Dial of Destiny is far worse. I can't honestly see myself ever watching it again.
That's because Crystal Skull is actually really good but gradually falls apart until it becomes complete nonsense in the final act. It does still have a lot of Indiana Jones/Spielberg kino in it, and the older Indy going after aliens in the fifties is a great concept. It also helps a lot that Ford wasn't completely pathetic at that time, he was old but not fricking geriatric. He actually looked great in that movie.
>Indiana Jones is reduced to a sidekick for most of the film.
>You can see throughout the film how Fleabag was supposed to take over the show.
What else do you do when your action hero is fricking 80 years old? There's a reason why half of this movie is vehicle chases. The concept doesn't work on a fundamental level.
Proof that it shouldn't have been made then.
But then it would be a completely different movie anyway
what? Do you even know where you are right now?
Don't make the movie? Or reboot the whole thing
They could have simply started a new action adventure through-history type franchise instead of raping the corpse of something already dead.
It was better than their Star Wars films in recent years at least. It seemed more idk weighty and less cartoony than crystal skull
redditbrain commentary
>uhhh felt hefty
>if they did exactly the same thing 40 years ago and without cgi and all the pozzed propaganda
but they didn't
>be Indie
>dedicated his whole life to history and archeology
>lost his son
>wife divorced him for the 2nd time after son died
>sad lonely old man with only 5 years left to live
>could spend his last days in Syracuse, drinking wine with his bro Archimedes
>ugly b***h who never cared for him punches him in the face and forces him to reunite with his old c**t wife
This ending made me so fricking angry.
tbh he would've died from some meme infection, but yeah, it would've been a great ending to the franchise.
guess the wanna milk it for 2 more decades at least
fords been fricking done with films for the past 15+ years bro, probably way longer. he looks like he doesnt want to be in a single thing hes in anymore
harrison actually said he is not planning to retire from acting. he's done with indy for now but i wouldn't rule out a new movie within a decade.
Airplanes are expensive, especially if you keep crashing them.
sure says alot about American SOCIETY that people buy tickets to see an actor that doesn't even like acting eh? All you know is how to consume garbage. Fricking wretches the lot of you
>Look! It’s geriatric man and his Kathleen Kennedy sidekick
have a nice day
No, it wasn't bad. It was complete fricking shit. A money grab for old ass Ford, and a feminist platform for Phoebe Waller b***h. Abject garbage.
Reminder that Five Nights at Freddy's made more than this.
>ruined Indie
>ruined Solo
>ruined Deckard
>ruined Indie again
Why does he keep coming back to humiliate all the characters that made him famous and rich? What the frick is wrong with that guy?
bitter old man that just needs the cash
see
the goal isnt necessarily to humiliate the characters, its that he jumps on anything that gives him money which gives mentally ill writers with weird and offputting agendas a easy way in to use him and his characters for whatever they want
>it would've easily be a top 3 indiana jones movies
indiana jones is actually overrated, but the board is full of people who saw last crusade as a kid and have rose colored glasses about the franchise
You need to be 18 to post here
>indiana jones is actually overrated
I rewatched the whole series last year after not having seen the original trilogy in decades and this is exactly what I thought afterwards.
i agree, and i saw the first 3 movies as a kid. my favourite one is temple of doom but it's still pretty mid tbf
It's completely soulless and just goes through the motions, as if the entire script was slapped together by an AI and vetted by some committee.
More cgi chase scenes with zero stakes, another ethnic sidekick with zero reason to exist, sassy woman sassing it up and showing up Indy every step of the way, evil nazi villain that is played for laughs every scene he's in, bumbling henchmen, gimli guy again looking like they literally dug him up from a grave, that entirely surreal and honestly comical ending sequence in the past ... just horrid all the way through
oh yeah and also old fart grumpy shirtless Indy mumbling and getting angry at kids playing loud music
can't wait for the next one where he's going to be falling out of a wheelchair as a gag in every other scene
HAHAHA! Fund it! Actor script go brrrrr!
>it wouldn’t be bad if it were a completely different movie
No shit
At least it was better than Crystal Skull
>if they made a different movie it would have been different
>I heard it said by someone that [with a sequel] the audience just wants the same story over again, (IIRC in relation to the 'Back to the Future' franchise), but I think it's actually they want the same FEELS again that they got the first time, and that's what they came back for, (and are disappointed by when they don't get it). All the classic sequels/trilogies do that more or less successfully, (the Star Wars OT, BttF, Indiana Jones OT, T2, Aliens, etc.)
>without cgi
This is unironically what made the movie the worst.
This flick had the most boring "over the top" action sequences I have ever seen.
The human and adventure parts were just fine. I even liked Helena. The boring action is what killed this movie.
Mads was kino in this movie. I wish they had focused more on his character and motivations. His death was a kick in the nuts, totally anticlimactic.
