its actually really great. Super saiyan 4 is by far the best transformation in the series besides maybe ssj1 and oozaru and the logical next step between combining the shiny power level transformation, the physical transformation, and base form. and then SSGT4 Gogeta does this again with the fusion mechanic.
It's 40% good and 60% cancer, and I'm being generous. For the most part there's no tension because they are grossly overpowered and have to dick around on an ungodly level for even being bothered by anything. Super C17 arc is 100% filler that wouldn't change anything if disappeared, and the Evil Dragons were a mess. Very good ending tho.
Super is also a mess but for different reasons, and it actually addresses the power creep thing (in moronic ways, but it does).

I'm not mad at this opinion. For me, DB has better overall consistent quality. It has good sagas/arcs. Z has some 11/10 moments but the stuff between those moments is broadly not as good and is really only there as context for those great moments
