Do just regular movies that happen to take place in the same universe but not have them tie into each other at all, might be references but that's it and crossover films would just be their own movies that you can on it's own watch without having to watch everything else.

Would had rebooted the entire DCEU franchise and would not had used a Flash movie to do it. It would had been done in a Justice League movie consisting of 2 parts. Part 1 would be called Justice League: Infinite Crisis and Part 2 would be called Justice League: Final Crisis. Affleck would had gotten his Batman movie and Cavill would had gotten his Superman sequel movie before the start of the Justice League sequel/finale movie.
Justice League: Infinite Crisis would be about the arrival of the Anti-Monitor and his forces. The multiverse is gone and the DCEU universe is the only universe remaining before Anti-Monitor complete his goal of the complete annihilation of the multiverse. The only interaction with the multiverse is through flashbacks and confirmation from Anti-Monitor. The Justice League and it's allies ultimately defeats and destroy the Anti-Monitor and his forces but it was a shallow victory. ~70% of all life within DCEU was lost during the war against the Anti-Monitor. It caused irreparable damage to the DCEU universe and it had 5 years at most before total collapse and the annihilation of all life within it.
Justice League: Final Crisis would be about the aftermath of the victory against the Anti-Monitor. Darkseid and the New Gods existing outside the Multiverse spared them from Anti-Monitor's wrath. Darkseid decides to invade the DCEU and hopefully acquire the Anti-Life Equation before the complete collapse of the DCEU universe. Darkseid clashes with the Justice League and ultimately a battle worn and scarred Darkseid emerge victorious. But it's all meaningless, his Father Box was destroyed and he have no means of escaping the DCEU universe that is just a minute away from total collapse. The epilogue shows all the characters in their own self-contained universe. No shared universe going forward.
