    >it's yet another episode where Truman sees an attractive cashier at the grocery store and becomes infatuated with her, going more often to the store for groceries he really doesn't need just to see her, fantasizing about talking to her and she smiles and envisioning their lives together, but never working up the courage to actually go to her line, but one day he pulls up and sees her going to her car leaving her shift and makes a mental note of which car is hers so he knows if she is there, but over time he starts going later and later until eventually he's going at closing time and watching her walk to her car and leave, and he starts having invasive thoughts of going up to her at her car and grabbing her because he has started to come to resent her because he knows she would never love him and never be happy talking to him because women have only ever been repulsed by him, then one night as she leaves he follows her car in his all the way back to her apartment building which is only a few minutes away and his fantasies evolve to kidnapping her outside her building and taking her home with him, then he scolds himself and says he won't do this anymore because it's getting out of hand, but within a few weeks he's parked outside her apartment building again watching her and edging closer and closer to doing something that could ruin his life as he gets more unraveled in loneliness day by day and posts about his experiences on an Indo-Chinese macrame stop-motion animation internet board, and then one day he finally snaps and attacks the girl with a hacksaw and saws her face up because he's come to hate her beauty and wants to take if from her and the production has to cut to commercial and the actress playing the cashier tries to sue the Truman Show production company but she signed a waiver of any physical harm thinking nothing bad could ever happen to her on set

Tip from an attorney, if you ever witness a woman being raped do not ever interfere. You can call the police and leave the area. If you try to jump in you may be stabbed or shot, OR the woman's moronic memory may drag you into the event and she may assume you were an accomplice at the scene or part of it. Then when she tells her story to the police you are now one of the suspects and in a lineup she will point you out because you were there. It may get you put in a court room having to defend yourself.

      >it's a Truman reevaluates his desires and how he forms relationships with women after reading countless female POV posts on X, CrystalC*fe, etc., in which virtually every post regarding male attention is about how overbearing it is -- how 99% of their friendships with men end with the guy admitting feelings for her, sometimes after months or years of holding it in, because these men view every friendly woman as a potential "out" -- and realizes that this inability for both sexes to truly befriend each other is the major reason for the gap in understanding between men and women, and that the few friendships he does have with women, casual though they may be, are that much more valuable because, psychologically, the female perspective is a necessary counter to the male one (and vice-versa), and that these relationships both make him more open-minded and give his female friends a male perspective that they can trust not to be ruined by him eventually falling for them episode
      >the episode ends with one of Truman's female friends setting him up on a date with one of her friends, knowing that he's been single for a while, and for the first time in a long time Truman is actually, genuinely happy with himself, now that he's no longer thinking of human relationships as games to be played in the interest of love

I find exes to be so weird. Why do we get into relationships? They end and then these women are strangers. Then you have a myriad of emotions about it. What do you do with that? Please respond.

      Anonymous

Because in the end it's worth it, you have a lot of good times with it, it's a high level of satisfaction because we are made to find mates. As a man you just have to learn how to move on and talk to a lot of them so you can move on quicker. This is essentially what women do, it's of course easier for them because they are women.

        Anonymous

I guess what trips me up is how heartless it can seem. It’s like we’re auditioning people. It almost seems pointless, but it’s like you said, it’s about the experience and it’s a lesson. I do find that when relationships end, I learn something about myself or I understand what I like/dislike in women better. It’s weird to me because what involves another person is really about you in the end. It’s about your takeaway, your growth, your whatever. The other person is nearly irrelevant. Maybe I’m just autistic.

          Anonymous

It can seem that way but they also get something out of it, both should bring some type of value to the table ideally. I know what you mean by it seeming pointless, and heartless. It kind of is. Life is just brutal a lot of the time, it's about dominating your space and going for what you want. I will say that despite all of this dancing with a woman is very rewarding, you play all these stupid ass games but the satisfaction when that cool exterior is broken and I see some real emotion she can no longer control is great. You gotta learn to love the game. Never tell a woman that tho.

            Anonymous

It’s weird to think what a woman gets out of it. It’s easier for me to imagine women getting over breakups quicker and easier and then it’s not even a thought to them

      >Its a "Trumans relationship is already 100% doomed but he doesnt realise it yet" episode
I love these kind of relationship arcs, really reminds me of season 23 when that depressed chick kept threatening suicide over minor shit and truman kept falling for it

        Anonymous

I found s23-24 with that shit got frustrating after a while though, and why did they drop so many supporting cast members during those seasons? Some of Truman's friends had great moments

          Anonymous

There is a rumour some of the more interesting friend actors got too big for their boots and asked for a raise. When production refused this they started phoning it in: ignoring Truman and only interacting with him for the minimal amount their contracts forced them to.

Really petty behind the scenes stuff ruining our kino (even though i enjoyed the S24 isolation arc the writers managed to make with it)

This looks crazy but a friend of mine's brother is an ongoing moron alcoholic and has a girl who has stuck with him for some dumb reason, likely because he makes money, and she has almost an identical babysitting list for him other than the no talking to women stuff since that's not his problem.

        Anonymous

Well that's easily understandable. As long as he remains a functional alcoholic making money she'll stay with him, but once Truman let's drinking to Oblivion take even his job she will leave him in his most time of need until he goes cold turkey and gets taken to hospital for withdrawals

I'd dump her on general principles.

my high school gf left me cause I developed a type of schizophrenia not long after high school. it got worse for the next 3 years till she left me finally. it was only 6 months after that I went to get help for my issues and got better over the next couple of years. that all happened 10 years ago now and I fricking dread having dreams where we are together again.

I have been hesitant to get into another relationship though cause what if a girl finds out about my past. thought about moving far away and assuming a new name lately to move on.

I got to say goodbye to my first girlfriend a couple weeks ago at a big final reunion now that we're all in college. She left me three years ago after a very desperate and nasty month long fight where we didn't get to see each other because of 'rona. I lost my virginity and got my first kiss from her, and she was also my best friend who I hung out with and confided in. We still saw each other when school came back and I was still totally in love with her but she absolutely resented and was hurt by seeing me. She treated me coldly and harshly and hit me pretty often. That summer we started talking again and she was my friend once more which honestly was far more important to me because she was my best friend as well as my lover. Unfortunately we just started drifting apart because I was too scared of her and she was too distrusting of me. All my friends had turned against me when I dated her because they believed she was a cheater (she got sexually assaulted in reality), so when we broke up I really had nothing left socially. She left Ireland and went to live in Wales without a goodbye. When that happened I finally was forced to move on and live without her presence. I built a lot of anger and then let it all go, and a few months ago I had my first acid trip where I relived and decontextualized our whole relationship and gained new understanding and closure for my time with her.

      Irish :D

And then I saw her unexpectedly at the 12 hour gathering. She met me with warmth and pulled me into the first hug we shared since breaking up. We talked about all that had come to pass as if we were really finally friends once more, and it finally felt like what had happened was in the past. We shared a final dance together, and when the night ended and everyone started going their separate ways, she waved goodbye to me. I figured I should just let her walk away, but then I realised how really, truly apparent it was that I was never going to see her again. I called out her name and walked up to her and we both stood around a corner. I told her how glad I was to have gotten to see her one last chance, and she told me she missed me, and she started talking about how she was still a troubled person, but she was finally starting to get better. She told me I was charming and sweet and kind and that whoever I ended up with would be lucky, and then said she understood that I probably didn't even remember her until seeing her again, and I told her the truth, which was that a day hadn't gone by where I didn't think of her. She told me she was sorry things didn't work out between us, and that things had been weird ever since, and that she had pushed me away, and I told her that I had learned so much about life and love and loss from the pain she gave me. My voice started breaking and she just pulled me into a long embrace. We shared a cathartic weep or two (the first time I had been able to cry since we broke up), and then finally pulled away, she said she hoped I had a great life, I looked into her deep pecan eyes and said "I'll never forget you."

I think that chance at goodbye was what I truly needed to move on to this new chapter of my life. I'm so glad I got this chance bros. I am happy again, after all this time.

What do you guys think will happen next episode? Will Truman just accept that it's not going to work and it wasn't meant to be, knowing his friend will probably find someone soon, and move on? Or is there any other option for Truman? I'm biting my nails over here.

Even if you started dating you'd always have that in your mind.

I think they hesitated in the past because Truman is a metalhead and his friend is a very conservative devotee evangelic, so she doesn't approve some of Truman's life choices, and vice versa. But in the previous episode, Truman took some days off to go visit her in her town, they had dinner in a nice restaurant, went for walks in the park and the mall, and things started to get kind of hot and heavy between them as she would constantly be hugging and caressing him, Truman even tried to give her a massage when they were out in the park but she told him to stop because she was "starting to feel weird". They both had a great time and it was smiles all around, but when Truman returned home, she ghosted him for a couple of days. Truman asked what happened and when she finally answered, she apologized and said she was just feeling a little bad and embarassed for "grinding on Truman all the time and sitting on his lap in public". Boy oh boy this Truman is a patient guy!

It boils down to being moronic. Depression, being self-destructive, afraid of having to move to another country (I even put my dogs into the equation), afraid of making that final step so I started pulling back. Plus at the end I saw her more as a friend and wasn't that attracted.
