It's actually...good?

It's actually...good? Light and energetic, the main actress is charming (so you know, the opposite of Brie Larson), and it has its own style that seemed more earnest than most MCU stuff. It's obviously aimed at a younger audience but I don't know, just seems like it knows what it's going for more than the other D+ shows have.

I'm less concerned about the ending and more about it being poisoned by tie-in shit.
I wanted to like Hawkeye more than anything but it constantly dipping into other MCU shit every week ruined it for me.

Brie Larson isn't a box office draw, Marvel is a box office draw.

No she isn't. No one has ever watched a movie because Brie was in it. She is not a draw, she can't act, she is not attractive, she is not likable. Both Kamala and Monica have been more well received than Brie so this much shows that she is not someone they can trust to lead anything in the future.

They have to do that. It's some weird unspoken (to us the public that is) rule from studios that everyone has to praise Brie Larson like the second coming as some sort of "stance" against the backlash she got. They seem to feel they have to overcompensate. Look at Vin Diesel's over the top fellating when he announced her casting in Fast X, which he didn't do for any other casting.

What I would give to kidnap Iman Vellani and make her life a living hell. I would force her to dress up in elf and leprechaun outfits and subject her to pure awfulness and humiliation. Just terrible degradation and shameful acts. It would be so easy to break her spirit and drive her to suicide, but I wouldn't let her do it. If I could train a dog to rape on command then I would totally do that as well. A really big dog like a mastiff. She would be so completely and utterly powerless to stop it, not to mention terrified. A big ass dog is even scary and life-threatening to a normal human but to a Muslim? Might as well be a dragon. I'd keep her in a cell and what's more is that I would actually place the key inside with her but put it in a high place.

As long as they don't go the anime route where they make teens as if they have the experience and training of a middle aged professional. So far this is fine and believable. Not liking her power origins though. Hopefully it circles back to inhuman and Marvel can retcon the previous series and claim it was another universe.

Yeah because it came out in between Infinity War and Endgame. Nobody knew if it was important. Same thing with Black Panther.

That's the value of the FRANCHISE, not the movie. This is the harsh lesson of nu-Wars, it's hard to build a franchise, it's really easy to burn a franchise for a quick buck, it's next to impossible to rebuild a franchise once it's been burned.

The next three movies after Endgame flopped. That was because of bREE. Nobody wants bREE and all Marvel is promising is more bREE.

The people who were like "frick this shit I'm out" are the 500mil that didn't show up for Black Widow.

I actually ended up hating The Boys after watching this.

The convention plotline was rotten. Building a character around her worship of the product that your show is selling. Yuck.

I could look past it though because the show has a lot of genuine charm and I suppose I can't be too mad at a Disney show for shilling Disney products.

What really pissed me off though was thinking about The Boys.

Superhero shows are such a huge part of culture right now. It's infuriating to sit there watching this shameless celebration of brand loyalty and realize:

The show that's meant to be mocking this, tearing this down, telling people to see what I'm seeing when they watch that shit? It's not doing that. It's off on some weird fricking tangent about Donald Trump.

    Just awful.
