It's been over a year since they shot it so something fricked has happened with the editing or skits themselves. I doubt Fishtank and weekly podcasts have subtracted THAT much.

Were they ever *that* close? Nick always, always seemed like the best friend and even he doesn't seem too privy to Sam's personal life from what I pick up on in PGL. I wouldn't be surprised if Nick has never met Sam's current girlfriend or if he doesn't even know she's pregnant.
Does anyone actually watch the palace? I was hyped for it because it sounded like an interesting concept but the execution is lackluster. Technical issues, lack of planning, charls being drunk or blasted on something most episodes etc. I prefer his regular streams.

I dont think its that deep. Charls is pretty emotional and was more betrayed by the friendship issue than anything. Sam probably didn't like the rep damage and also did feel a little bad. Called him and apologized and said to come back and get some money. The apology probably meant a lot to charls and since he has kids and no discernable skills was like frick it. The Palace is probably bankrolled by Sam and now Charls can support his family slightly instead of going insane.
Probably something to do with not wanting everyone to find out that he's a degenerate homosexual. Charls probably has tons of dirt on him that he can back up with proof if need be.
