He took away Ben Hurst’s SatAM movie and then disrespected the man after he died.
He took away so many characters and entire storyline that thousands if not millions of people cherished.
He is one of the main reasons why Sega became much stricter with their mandates, which has contributed to trash writing, poor character representation, and a huge lack of world building.
He is the reason why Sega will never allow anything related to Archie characters, material. Or allow anything like that ever again.
This one man alone has done the second most amount of damage to the franchise, with Sega’s own bad decision making being the first.
But he will finally pay. Almost no one is going to want his shitty comic that he built from everything he burnt down. He will fade away, with everyone either hating him or forgetting about him. No one major is going to hire him ever again.
He will be alone, with no one to stroke his ego. And that is a fate worse than death for someone like Penders.
Even if he did deserved to be payed more for his work, all he did was hurt the fans. Not Sega. Def not Archie. Both companies simply washed their hands of the whole thing, and moved on. I mean stricter mandates have not done any good for Sonic, true. But the fans have suffered the most.

Eh. I don’t think SEGA wants to risk sueing him. The US judges don’t really like SEGA. And US judges tend to side with the previous winner of a case than the loser. And SEGA wouldn’t want to risk losing again and looking like fools by having to give Penders more money.
I think SEGA will just try to ignore him and pretend nothing is amiss.

But we can never forget about this. Sega was so fricking incompetency they literally lost an open and close case to a nobody who have no fricking clue how to even act during court. If you are that incompetence in comparison to an already incompetence hack writer who only know how to add hats to characters then yea, they fully deserve the L. It could be that he stagnated, and that he colors and shades like he's using a 20 year old PC.
Other thing being in the last 10 plus years there are more artists who came up who really nail the "Sonic style" and draw appealing looking characters. They balance the proportions and cartoonyness just right and add the right details to the right areas. Some of the artists of the Archie book are known for their awful artwork, likely capeshit artists that were forced to draw cute cartoons and basically couldn't. That art may have been passable by modern standards, but it aged like milk. Look at the talent in the comic these days, I remember when Yardely was a fresh face in the Archie comic and the breath of fresh air with the artwork was amazing. I feel he set the standard, and its only improved from there.
