It's fricking trash, all of it. The dialogue is hacky and written like shit.

I gave up after just two episodes

have you been in a coma for the past 10 years? jesus christ Black person
I liked it. So frick you.
I watched it because I loved the original series but the only parts I enjoyed were the ones that featured or focused on the OG characters
Needless to say after they destroyed the whole avatar connection aspect I pretty much lost all interest, but I still watched through the end to see if things got any better. I didn't think they did.
Asami was hot as frick though at least.
I would tear myself to pieces for a single taste of Korra's sweaty abs
It was Star Wars Prequel level of misunderstanding the appeal of the original. Nobody wanted a giant mech shooting spirit lasers at the Avatar just like how nobody wanted to see Jedi sitting around in a circle taking about politics.
Yeah they really oversold the steampunk bullshit. The original series had elements of that but I never imaged the four kingdoms in just a few decades' time would advance THAT much, to say nothing of the completely random art deco aesthetics.
>a few decades' time
Huh, Aang was 12 in the original series and Korra is older than that. So it's literally a whole lifetime between the series, something like 70 years
Within a few years after atla, the forklift had been invented. Not an earth bender forklift, not a steampunk forklift, a regular modern day forklift that sokka got to ride around on
Noncanon
>but akshu-
Noncanon.
Humans literally went from primarily horse based transporation and single shot rifle warfare to landing on the moon and splitting the atom in 100yrs. The Last Airbender setting had already invented the external combustion engine for ships and trains so it's not a ridiculous level of progression to have basic cars and radios in 50yrs.
The issue is it went too far. As people already said, nobody wanted mech battles and WMDs in Avatar.
Pretty sure the ships and trains in ATLA were steam operated (with the assistance of firebending). Korra comes ~60 years after the original series and there are early automobiles and ICE-powered boats. It's almost exactly in line with human history, with the exception of the giant mecha that was moronic.
it wasnt steampunk though, more like diesel punk and mecha crap
I wouldn't mind as much if the writing/acting was actually good
I liked the chi blocking fights and Amon before they wrote him off.
baskin roberts season 1 mogs this whole frickin' show and DONT go saying bojack horseman was more tearjerking
Yeah, Korra has a lot of problems, the creators were obsessed with making asian steampunk NYC and it was like ehh? Then love triangle bs and probending turned a lot of people off.
Season 2 had awful writing because iirc the network rushed them, they even had to outsource to Studio Pierrot for animation to make their deadline.
Season 3 and 4 were produced at the same time and are the most coherent story-wise, with the two directly being tied together story-wise. But even still, the issues of seasons 1 and 2 are still there.
I do agree with you, the whole show it feels like they constantly just ran with random idea that weren’t fleshed out. No one thinks Republic City is cool. No one thinks Kuvira’s mech robot is unique (other than the metalbending controls internally). They were just prototype ideas that needed to be fleshed out more. Something like Ba Sing Se revisited and that HD-ified establishing shot of them flying in was so much more memorable than most of the Republic City.
It’s a shame because there was a lot I liked about Korra, especially the emotional beats and themes of the final season, but it really just can’t compete with Avatar at all.
I agree. Sokka is such a b***h, katana is a whiny woke person, and aang is annoying.
Oh wait this is Korra lmao
Season 3 is kinda good. Asami is hot. That's about it.
>The dialogue is hacky and written like shit.
So par for Avatar?
I'm not going to watch an arrogant b***h mary sue act that acts like she's better than everyone else, how is that even a question? Korra is so unlikeable unless you're the same unlikeable young adult girl
How old are you even? it's a fricking show for kids dumbass.
t. moron.
Beign for kids it's not a free pass for being bad.
What's bad about it? It's an adventure story where the protagonist has to go through a journey even though he doesn't really want to and learns a lot of lessons along the way.
That's your full criteria for something being good is it
Name me another show for kids that's any good then. I'll wait.. just hating shit for hating sake is fricking dumb.
As a kid I loved avatar, I liked the plot and characters in this one but yeah you have to be a teenager to enjoy it, or I just got boners when I saw her armpits idk its been years
>hur dur
>hur dur
morbidly obese cow
it's utter dogshit don't watch it
