It's funny that the original author of the source material put little effort into her art but when it got adapted someone else has to put effort to redesign and animate her characters

A good artist can redesign a character with little trouble. Adapting anything goes through the same process.
I actually prefer the blond guy's design in the comic, I just think the long hair suits him better.
Didn't they redesigned the knights to resemble their VAs
Agreed,
I'm not sure about the knights portrayal in general - the trailer makes it seem like their personalities switch (at the very least Ballister is acting goofier than he ever did in the comic).
Thank God this movie was saved from being a tax write-off
>adaptation makes her normal sized instead of fat
i thought you guys said wokeness was subverting everything, here they made a reasonable change depicting a normal, healthy body size
making everyone a minority isn't putting effort in.
makes her normal sized instead of fat
Shame they removed her breasts too and made her complete shit in the process.
>Shame they removed her breasts too
Would be fine if they didn't make her a complete sticc in the process like the other anon said.
that's sexist bro you should be sexually attracted to women that look like men
sorry butch you still gotta make up in ONE way or another see?
I’m actually in shock that this comic is getting adapted.
It's not that hard to redesign a character using modern Disney sensibilities. It's a very typical art style where everything just works from proportions of the body to the eye shapes. It is the definition of mass appeal.
Why should she have put effort into it? It's a webcomic Noelle was making in her spare time during college. She enver expected it to win an Eisner, let alone become a movie.
It's one of webcomics' great success stories.
How the frick did this movie win an Eisner and get made into a movie
>Won an Eisner
Are standards THAT low now?
Depends, but generally yes.
Holy shit, I didn't make that connection at ALL! It's so different that it may as well be an original property.
Like the artstyle of the original or not animations It would actually require more skill and make It leagues more unique than the generic cheap CG on the right
Imagine if, after the film rights were passed off to them, Netflix scrapped all the 3D film's assets and instead did a 2D film with animation handled by some frog studio instead?
Wait this was made by the show of the chick who cut her breasts off
the same
they both look like shit for sure
