i hate these shitty book of job type stories where the writers just take a relatable MC and make everyone in his life tear him down every chance they get. i didn't feel bad for De Niro, I just got sick of it. it's the most repetitive shit i've ever seen. sharon's a prostitute, pesci's a dick, boohoo i take her back, until everyone dies an hour and a half later because it's a scorsese movie. it's self parody to the point there's like 7 rolling stones arrangements.
I never got the feeling that you are supposed to see Ace as a tragic figure or feel sorry for him. He made really bad decisions and surrounded himself with awful people and he faced the consequences of it. He did multiple things wrong because of his own ego.
Needed Ray Liotta.
this movie sucks but Sharon Stone's character is my soul animal
she was completely unbearable though
What makes you identify with a junkie prostitute so much?
She's the most annoying character in the movie. You're basically saying you identify with an emotionally unstable prostitute
do I need to watch it before I watch The Irishman?
You need to watch it and then don't watch the Irishman.
Yes. If you don't watch all the Scorcese mob films before The Irishman, you're doing it wrong.
See
.
It's almost like a Mob Trilogy.
It's just Casino but worse.
Its just Goodfellas but gooder, fella.
I'm not your fella, pal.
It has the best death scene in cinema
>they called him billy batts cause he would hit you with two baseball bats
some real greaseball shit
I'm glad they didn't cast Ray Liotta as Tony Soprano, there's already 20 actors from Scorsese's movies in there.
he was too busy voicing tommy in grand theft auto and doing chantix commercials at the time
Casino is far superior to Goodfellas
correct and goodfellas sucks to begin with

I mean he's The Golden israelite
Casino > Goodfellas
de niro blowing himself up for that opening scene makes it worth it
