I dont really think that highly of logan, I suppose as a not xmen movie it is OK and a nice send off for the major 2 of the OG xmen who hadn't died in the lore of the movies but as an xmen movie it is quite weak.
Might actually watch logan tonight see if my opinion has changed.
I do like origins though, one of the better movies.
Logan is too depressing to watch again. I know in my brain that its good but the way Prof X dies is too fricked up to watch again. Thinking it was Logan that killed him.
Apocalypse gets a higher rating than 'meh' from me because when Archangel died some black dude in the theater was like "homie can fly and he die in a plane crash whata punk!" and everyone laughed.
Watching horrible movies in ghetto theaters is fun because people don't care and make stupid comments. I still wish I had watched Oppenheimer at a ghetto theater.
I enjoyed First Class, but that movie started the ball rolling towards the shitshow that was the sequels and the time travel stuff. So I rate it slightly lower because of that. The time travel stuff is the worst part of the X-Men stories in the comics and it's even worse in the movies. I really enjoyed the X-Men shows (Legion, The Gifted) and New Mutants that came after. And the Sony Marvel shows were good too. Making loosely connected shows was the right path, but then Disney took over and things aren't looking good for the X-Men in that universe. How are they going to fit them in that overly connected Disney+ mess.
Swap out First Class for X-Men 1, Apacalypse goes in Meh tier. Dark Pheonix in Okay tier. The Wolverine in Good tier. Origins Wolverine somewhere in between Okay and Meh. The Last Stand is way below Meh.
all that shit was shit tbh. i remember being disappointed by every superhero movie i saw after watching spiderman in theaters. wasn't until i saw batman begins on hbo on demand via time warner cable on demand tv in around 2008/09. good times. thats what actually got me excited for dark knight. i remember not many ppl even knowing about batman begins at the time. sad bc it was really above most other super hero movies. iron man 1 was trash got distracted cutting my toenails during it.
He's known as the merc with the mouth so they sowed his mouth shut on top of making him an actual threat. Basically a 180 from the comics but kind of based.
Movie sucks! I hate how every
character has to have a “origin” story. Wolverine was way cooler when he didn’t have a definitive origin. You didn’t know how old he really was. Because his
memory loss he’d just have fragmented memories of being in ancient wars.
>I hate how every character has to have an origin story. Wolverine was way cooler when he didn’t have a definitive origin. You didn’t know how old he really was. Because of his memory loss he’d just have fragmented memories of being in ancient wars.
I agree
Make Weapon X not be Deadpool and the movie is completely great, have a throw away line by Sabertooth "Wade was fun, he's still headless in..." and the final enemy is fine and forgettable.
Also Wolverine and Sabertooth being brothers is perfect.
Mangold sucks. Every Wolverine movie he does he makes Wolverine weak and pathetic. He doesn’t have his healing powers for almost entire movie. In Logan, he’s old and can hardly heal. Not like Wolverine has ridiculous Magneto type powers that need to be toned down
Based OP. It was my favorite X Men movie and I have rewatched it so many times. But then I learned that people hate this movie, and I pretend that I too dislike it. But now, thanks to you I would stop pretending!
my friend who's a massive xmen sperg cant wrap his mind around why i like origins wolverine >only saw xmen 1 and 2 >check this out because i was bored >really liked the character with no mouth and laserbeam eyes >friend is all like "THATS NOT HOW HE IS IN THE COMICS THEY FRICKED IT UP" >as him who he's talking about >"DEADPOOL" >"oh. who's that?" >he shows me what he looks like >"i like the other guy better"
he almost didn't talk to me for an entire week
Always liked this one. The Wolverine was the real stinker.
Always thought this. How would you rank the Xmen movies?
It's been a long time since I watched them, but from my memory:
Great:
>X-Men 2
>First Class
>Logan
Good:
>X-Men
>Origins: Wolverine
>Days of Future Past
>Apocalypse
Okay:
>The Last Stand
>The New Mutants
Meh:
>Dark Phoenix (train seen was cool though)
>The Wolverine

Apocalypse deserves to be meh-tier, awful film.
Yep. Magneto story and powers were cool.
Apocalypse gets a higher rating than 'meh' from me because when Archangel died some black dude in the theater was like "homie can fly and he die in a plane crash whata punk!" and everyone laughed.
>Archangel
I didn't think it was possible for a character to be so cringe in a movie.
>movie is more entertaining because fans are ripping on it
So it's still dogshit.

The fuq is this list?

>train seen
aw yeah mamma I seen that train

X-Men Last Stand is the patrician's choice.
In retrospect, even the Deadpool depiction was better
It's the only one I don't like, just terrible. The Wolverine is kino and he fricks a cute young japanese girl
Always enjoyed it, although the intro/first act is the strongest bit by far.
What's up with that Deadpool though?
He's known as the merc with the mouth so they sowed his mouth shut on top of making him an actual threat. Basically a 180 from the comics but kind of based.
The director hated Deadpool and was forced by the studio to put him so he did the mouth thing to spite them
I was so confused when I got here.
I remember watching the movie this way when I pirated it many years ago. Good times.
>great opening credits
>great adamantium being added to wolverine's skeleton
>shit everything else
I really like the comfy backstory and living in Canada parts
Why cant canada look like that? Now it looks like fricking pajeetstan
It's kino and I'm tired of pretending it's not
A lot of this movie is cool and feels like a modern take on gritty old 70s fiims like pic related but goes to shit in the final third.
This version of Deadpool is based, it was just before its time.
>Team's #1 quipster in a genre plagued by constant quips
>shut him up and make him the final boss
Speaking of final boss, the game based on this movie is easily the best Wolverine game ever made and one of the best X-Men games.
I got chills when he jumped off that exploding motorcycle and launched claws first through the windscreen of a flying helicopter.

I agree
>this thing I experienced when I was young and impressionable is good because... it just is, okay???

Deadpool is cringe shit anyway, shutting him up was the funniest gag he ever had.
Anyone see the unfinished version that leaked and thought it was kino anyways?
I did back when it first showed up on here, but no, it was fricking embarrassing.
True the seqyels were trash especially the deadpool flick
You were off by one movie OP. Better luck next time.
does he fight with a sword in that movie? why is he holding one on the poster
>does he fight with a sword in that movie?
Not that I remember. But the mid-boss does. And the fight is kino as frick. They should have ended with that guy instead of the way they did.
I think he uses it after the mecha samurai sucks some of the metal out of his bones so he lost a pair of claws.
Mangold sucks. Every Wolverine movie he does he makes Wolverine weak and pathetic. He doesn’t have his healing powers for almost entire movie. In Logan, he’s old and can hardly heal. Not like Wolverine has ridiculous Magneto type powers that need to be toned down
>its a Cinemaphile pretends a terrible movie is good just to be contrarian episode
Im tired of these re-runs
Based OP. It was my favorite X Men movie and I have rewatched it so many times. But then I learned that people hate this movie, and I pretend that I too dislike it. But now, thanks to you I would stop pretending!
Seconded. People that hate it are echo chambered groupthink redditors.
Wolverine Brother was Dimes
