    Top. Audience are plebs

I was thinking about watching top too. Audience's are plebs but sometimes critics have their head up their ass. In the past decade, I feel like there's been a momentum shift where critics are more inclined to give honest reviews, but audience's still haven't changed and will gobble up the most mundane shit like the live action one piece

Rotten critics just admitted to overrating movies when studios cough up money for at least the last 5 years.
Disneycels will now have to play damage control for a long while now.
WB going to have an easy lawsuit for the capeshit wars, which could mean the end of cookie cutter capeshit. Also gives the writers of the writer's strike less leverage as scripts may have had a skewed rating.
Scab bros time to rise n shine.
pic semi related. These type of bots were also used during the 2016 election cycle, the scripted, "I can't believe they are banning homosexuals from having gay anal sex in public, I'm literally shaking as we are turning into Nazi Germany!!!"

me too, people have been screaming about the end of the world since the 1200s. But i'm in the rare minority that thinks greta has her heart in the right place, she was just a cringe teen that got corrupted by clout. I do have a a respect for the environment, and wish that oil companies didn't dump out in oceans or coca cola take water from fiji. But throwing tomato sauce on the mona lisa is just dumb as hell. It's so idiotic im convinced corporations payed actors to do it.

yeah dont get me wrong. im not some neocon moron who thinks humans have no impact on the environment. i just think most environmentalists are very misguided like you said

I would never rely on RT to make a decision but these are both very good movies and I'd probably end up flipping a coin

RT is not a good source, theyre hit or miss but 60 percent of the time it's not bad

I don't choose either because I don't trust Rotten Tomatoes, I'd rather trust Cinemaphile charts like these.

      The Hobbit but no lotr?
The Adam Sandler remake of the longest yard?
This is a list made by a 12 year old that's seen 100 movies.

I usually dismiss audience scores because they have shit taste, but if both it and the critic scores are high, then I'll happily take that option because it means it has to be really well made to please both sides.

    >no one is up to give you recommendations

Someone is always up on Cinemaphile. It's 2am here and I'm talking to you, homosexual. But I wouldn't ask advice here because half the board are contrarian dicklickers. Basically if you call things "kino" or speak in any of this board's forced memes your views are worthless and your continued breath is a waste of oxygen put to better use in the lungs of rodents.

Luckily I'm not a mindless moron so I would simply watch the trailer and form my own opinion.

end of the day it's your opinion on if something was good, recommendations are there just as an offering to accept or decline. One of my favorite movies got 30 on RT. But seeing as im a pretty open to anything guy, and willing to give things a shot, sometimes im stuck between different recommendations from people and online. Also, trailers can be misleading, so you're probably still dumb as hell (my cousin has down syndrome so i feel weird using the r word)

Also, reminder we just had a thread yesterday with an article about how it's been proven PR firms are hired to pay off critics to boost up review ratings. 2/5 counts as a positive review. All those 90% plus scores are worthless.

    Literally paid reviews

It depends on the context of the film. Critics tend to overrate certain topics like Hollywood circlejerks and minority of the month. They underrate things like video game adaptions, male-targeted films. Overall critics score is a more reliable indicator of quality though especially for complex or mood films

i wouldn't factor the ratings at all when picking
i would factor genre, director, cast, synopsis

are you genuinely autistic? Obviously you would usually decide based on various factors, but that's not what OP's scenario is.
