Just when I think I've seen every TMNT ripoff...this one's entirely new to me. I can only assume there was simply something better on another channel at the time.
the problem with syndication is while some were able to catch this because it either aired in the afternoons or before they went to school, i could only catch random episodes of this and cops when i got sick one year, and then they were gone
>TFW Mattel has fricked up Masters of The Universe so much they're switching gears to Street Sharks with Turtles of Grayskull likely only being done so Mattel can convince Viacom for a Ninja Turtles/Street Sharks collab in time for the sharks 30th anniversary and the turtles 40th.
I've watched Mummies Alive and it was fun enough.
But if you really need a "why", the answer is "to sell cool toys". The answer for most of kids' entertainment.

i still have the squid monster toy in my wetroom and im 28
Weird that they now share the same universe as of being bought by the same company.
Too bad people care more about the Mice than the COW Boys (Mainly because westerns are dull).
Yeah the creator worked on the 1987 show and toyline, and also helped create the Mutanimals.
The Mirage turtles even bumped into them a few times in the late 2000s.
which is pretty crazy considering how forgotten the series was by that time
A comic cameo I think. Street Sharks and Extreme Dinosaurs are a different universe despite the crossover. Sounds confusing, but allow me to explain.
The dinos in Street Sharks weren't the same ED, they're the Dino Vengers. They had the same names and similar designs (besides Bad Rap being recolored), but they had different voice actors and different origin stories and some had slightly different personalities. They likely share the same multiverse, but that also means there might be a multiverse where all of the anthro animal shows take place. At least in my head it does.
now all thats needed is a bucky o hare crossover and the cypher would be complete.
You know what'd be fun? A fighting game that uses like 12 of these properties that haven't been touched in decades. The licensing for them much be super cheap at this point that even an indie studio could afford it.

>Street Sharks >Bucky O Hare >Mummies Alive >Extreme Dinosaurs >Cowboys of MOO Mesa >Road Rovers >SWAT Kats >Samurai Pizza Cats >Battletoads >Dinosaucers >Biker Mice from Mars
A Smash for TMNT inspired shows is an incredible fricking idea. This needs to be done.

Disney had the Migty Ducks.

Might be hard to get a license for that one. Road Rovers SWAT Kats and Battletoads might be a problem too. All the others should be dirt cheap.

One character from each show? More? Who would be the picks? Keep moveset variation in mind.

Probably one or two. There's a large variety of weapons and abilities the characters have so it's difficult to compare them all and see who makes the cut. Off the top of my head: >I really like Stegz's ability to transform into a sawblade and Bullzeye has the sonic screech and wolverine-like claws. >Mummies alive has Armon and his detachable hand that can also become a drill while also being a tank. >Street Sharks can bite through anything and swim through concrete. >Battletoads arms and legs can transform into weapons >Dinosaucers can "dinovolve" into their ancestors for sheer strength.
So many things you could do with this game.

The main problem with this is that some series have characters who'd have different enough movesets to justify including everyone while others would struggle to do more than swapping a move or two.

Samurai Pizza Cats is already a licensed property, a localization of the anime Kyatto Ninden Teyandee.

I am of the believe that toyetic action cartoons were of a greater net benefit to society than any educational programming that replaced them.
They made kids happy in several ways with toys and entertainment, and they helped make people money and gave a lot of animators and steady jobs and or early work to cut their teeth on before moving onto passion projects...ect.
It's like Ninja Turtles, but they're fricking underground sharks instead
what was the dinosaur version of this called?
The Adventures of T-Rex
Just when I think I've seen every TMNT ripoff...this one's entirely new to me. I can only assume there was simply something better on another channel at the time.
What the frick is this?
X-treme Dinosaurs, I remember I stole the Pterydactal toy when I was a kid. Purple version....it's out there....somewhere....I hope he's okay.
Didn't they debut in an episode of Street Sharks?
Near the finale or in the finale.
But they were a tad different here.
Yeaaa, this is what I was trying to remember.
I had the toy of the t-rex. He came with a big assed gun
the problem with syndication is while some were able to catch this because it either aired in the afternoons or before they went to school, i could only catch random episodes of this and cops when i got sick one year, and then they were gone
>it's as old as C.O.P.S.
Goddamn
its a bit younger, but cops was running on wgn in repeats at the time
When you watch it you could really tell a majority of the work done on it was from Japan.
>TFW Mattel has fricked up Masters of The Universe so much they're switching gears to Street Sharks with Turtles of Grayskull likely only being done so Mattel can convince Viacom for a Ninja Turtles/Street Sharks collab in time for the sharks 30th anniversary and the turtles 40th.
totally JAWesome
Why make such of these kind of thing
I've watched Mummies Alive and it was fun enough.
But if you really need a "why", the answer is "to sell cool toys". The answer for most of kids' entertainment.
i still have the squid monster toy in my wetroom and im 28
many such cases
The intro theme was fun though. Tonally it's on the milder side but it was middling to decent.
to be fair, its a really frickable mummy
Yeah she is.
Hottest immortal Egyptian girl ever
Eh Menace from Queen's Blade exists, but Nefertina is a nice girl.
mummy tummy
I remember that one where it was TMNT, but they're jazz lounge owning T-Rexes that fight crime in mech suits. It was alright.
Dinosaurs for Hire?
in France it's called Turbo Mummies
>but they're fricking mummies
hot
If only TMNT had a frickable member of the team
>But what about-
Doesn't count
Now I want a TMNT knock off where the heroes are all Universal Monsters.
There's a Monster Squad cartoon
>last four episodes only available in Russian
BIKER MICE FROM MARS
BIKER FRICKING MICE FROM MARS, homie
Cowboys of Moo Mesa
I loved the lore
Weird that they now share the same universe as of being bought by the same company.
Too bad people care more about the Mice than the COW Boys (Mainly because westerns are dull).
werent the cowboys tied to the turtles too? so is there some sort of anthro universe?
Yeah the creator worked on the 1987 show and toyline, and also helped create the Mutanimals.
The Mirage turtles even bumped into them a few times in the late 2000s.
i remember their cameo in the 2003 tmnt series

I thought it was more like Gargoyles, being monsters from the past and all.
It wild how many clones/knock offs of successful 80s IPs there were. TMNT probably had the most
hnnng
god I wanted to frick the sexy lady mummy so bad
Damn, she is FINE!

And good lessons at the end of episodes.
Sucks that MA is stuck with a rotting husk of an animation studio thats only noteable in-house IP in Inspector Gadget.
made for Tunnel Snakes

Come on, that was one of the good ones.
